Chapter Epilogue
Xander POV
*Five years later*
Telling Axton a quick goodbye, I hang up the phone and walk over to my beautiful mate. She has been trapped in the kitchen with Ivy and Amara all day and I am having serious withdrawals.
"Hey sweetheart," I kiss Aurora on the cheek as I move her to sit on my lap.
"Merry Christmas," she says before she kisses me.
No matter how many times we kiss or touch, it always feels like the first time. An explosion of tingles and electricity running through me.
"Merry Christmas," I tell her as we settle into the chair. I can hear Ivy and Amara in the kitchen yelling about how long to cook the cheesy potatoes for.
Aurora's laugh pulls my focus back to her, "They have been bickering since this morning about this dinner. I don't think I have ever seen Amara this nervous in my entire life."
"And Ivy's feeding off that feeling and nervous herself," I laugh as we hear more clanging coming from the kitchen.
"It's your fault, you know."
I scoff at her, "How on Earth is it my fault?"
"You're the one who suggested we have a huge family dinner. We could be at home right now," she whispers to me, placing a teasing kiss against my jaw as her hold around me tightens, "Alone."
I growl lowly as I kiss her deeply, claiming her lips as mine, "Now I'm regretting ever suggesting a family dinner."
She giggles, pulling away from my lips to rest her head against my shoulder, "So how was your talk with Axton?"
"How did you know-"
I start to ask before she stops me by raising her hand and lifting her eyebrows, giving me the best 'Are you serious?' looks she can manage.
I roll my eyes before letting out a sigh, "Fine. Ellie and Zea are good. Axton bought a huge pile of presents for Zea so she's over the moon with excitement right now."
"I'm happy for them. They deserve to be happy after all these years apart," she tells me as she kisses me softly, "Did he say anything about the baby yet?"
"What?" I pull back slightly in shock, "Is Ellie pregnant?"
"Crap," Aurora slips as she places her face into her hands, "I thought she told you. It was supposed to be a secret."
"It's a good thing I didn't let you speak to Axton then," I laugh, "You are terrible at keeping secrets."
"Shut up. I am not," she scoffs as she lightly smacks my chest, "I'm just excited about the news. Especially since our kids will be about the same age then."
I rub her stomach softly as I feel the baby bump she is growing. I kiss her again, smiling at how much she has given me. It took us a few years of trying before we finally got there, but when I saw that positive test result come back, I think my heart stopped beating for a second. We were finally able to start our family.
"And what of my brother? As Jade tried to kill him yet?" Aurora jokes.
I laugh at that. In the small amount of time I've spent with Michael, he had been annoying me for at least 80% of that time, "Not yet, but there is still a little time left before the new year."
Aurora's giggle sounds like music as it fills my ears. Her hypnotic eyes hold me captive as I pull her closer to kiss her again. Our lips move against each other passionately as I pour every emotion I've ever held for her into the kiss.
"I love you, Aurora."
Her smile nearly stops my heart, "I love you too."
