Chapter 12
Catori looked over to the enormous canopy bed, wondering if she made the right choice by agreeing to stay the night.
Rydstorm took her chin with his index finger and forced her to look at him.
“We don’t have to fuck on the first night.” He said.
Catori fought back a laugh. “Why do you have to say it so, so raw?”
“I’m just being truthful.”
“Well, I’m a virgin. So, we might not ‘fuck’ at all.” Catori said.
Rydstorm gave her a look, “we will see about that. I need a shower. Care to join me?”
Catori’s eyes widen, “n-no.”
“Hmm, your lost. But the offer still stands if you change your mind.’’
When Rydstorm closed the bathroom door behind him, that was when Catori sat on the bed, feeling on edge.
She was in a total stranger’s hotel room, in a sexy nightgown.
This is what her mother warned her of, but yet here she was.
After sitting there for a while and swinging her feet, she crawled to the top of the bed, removed the sheets, and tucked herself in.
Not long after, the bathroom door swung open and Rydstorm stepped out with a cloud of steam and a towel wrapped around his waist.
Pretending to sleep, Catori watched him with one eye open, admiring the way the towel hung off his narrow hips.
Rydstorm dropped the towel, causing Catori to gasp.
A slow, lazy smile spread its way across his face after realizing that she had been watching him.
“Like what you see?” Rydstorm gestured a hand towards himself, while spinning around so that Catori could observe his entire body.
“Hmm, I-I don’t know.” Catori blushed, then ducked her head under the blankets.
“No need to be shy. I’m sure this is nothing you haven’t seen before. Bigger, maybe, but nothing new.” Rydstorm said.
Catori remained silent for a while, ″like I said, I’m a virgin. This is my first time seeing a naked man or being in anyone else’s bed.”
“I could tell your inexperience from the way you kiss. To be honest, I thought it was because you were nervous. Well, it is alright. We can work on that.” Rydstorm made his way to the bed.
“Wow, whoa, whoa. Hold up, are you going to get into bed beside me like that?” Catori panicked.
“Like what?” Rydstorm quizzed, confused.
Catori pointed at his lower part.
“Oh, this? Of course, this is how I always sleep.” Rydstorm said, while pulling the covers back so he could slip into bed.
Catori looked up at the ceiling, thinking about the situation she had just placed herself in. She was in bed with a naked man, a man she didn’t even know.
“There is no need to worry. I won’t touch you unless you ask me to, and I’ll go slow. Whatever pace you want.” Rydstorm assured her.
Catori drifted her eyes to him, wondering if he was speaking the truth or if he would be like Archiebolt. A boy that tried to force himself onto her, then mysteriously disappeared.
“Ok, but I’m going to place a barrier between us.” Catori decided.
Rydstorm gave a soft chuckle, then placed one leg over the cover.
He was never fond of covering himself while sleeping, be it with sheets or clothes, but he didn’t want to scare his innocent mate off.
“Tell me about yourself, Catori.” Rydstorm said, having to place a pillow in his lap to hide his hardening cock.
“There is nothing much to say, according to my mother. I’m too young to get a job, but too old to still be single. Apart from that, I have two younger siblings, twins. I try to teach them all I know so that my mother doesn’t corrupt their minds.”
“I stay mostly to myself because, to be honest, these people are not the kindest. I have never set foot outside of this village before. That’s all. I lead a boring life.” Catori finished.
“Seems boring compared to my life. I’m the master of my Palace, ruler of the sky. I have been to many cities, near and far.” Rydstorm boasted about all the places he had been to, the battles he had led his people into and came out the victor.
All the while Catori lay on her side, listening intently and watching his mouth forming every letter.
“Your life sounds so interesting and amazing,” Catori said, leaning closer to Rydstorm.
“It’s not always fun, I have to keep my people in check, we are constantly being attacked by other dragons and well, it’s not all fun.” Rydstorm said.
“Still more interesting than my life, all I can do is imagine about going to different places. My mother doesn’t even want me reading certain books, even if they are school books.”
“The way you speak of your mother, it doesn’t seem as if you like her very much.” Rydstorm noted.
Catori groaned, “she is so annoying and set in days of the past. She thinks all young girls should do is get married and stay home to look after the household, bare children and please their husband. Her way of thinking is nothing short of illiteracy. I mean, I can’t work or go anywhere, but I can get married and have kids.”
“She even punished my siblings, by letting them kneel in a corner on bottle caps the entire day, all because I left the house. She even down right told me that if I leave again, I should never come back home.” Catori cried.
“This place has been as backward as I can remember it to be. I don’t know if this will make you feel better, but you can always come away with me.” Rydstorm said.
Catori thought about it as she still cried.
“That’s the thing, it will be too hard to leave Desolation. No matter how bad it is, this is home, and I fear what my mother might do to my siblings out of spite.”
“I never fully understood human nature, some of the most selfish creatures, but yet are the first to protest. Always saying they want justice, or equality, but only when it’s beneficial to them.” Rydstorm said.
“Not all humans are like that. I won’t lie. Sometimes I say and do questionable things. For example, I was about to become a nun.” Catori countered.
“You had a reason for that. I’m sure that it’s from the annoyance of your mother, why you came to that conclusion. Tell me about your father. What is he like?”
“A very simple man. He doesn’t really talk much. Just whenever he can’t take my mother’s nagging anymore. Or if she and I are going at it too much.”
“He tries to teach me as much as he can, how to fish, how to cut lumber, how to start a fire. Saying that one day I might have to live off his teachings.” Catori finished.
The two talked until Catori found herself slowly drifting off, listening to Rydstorm’s rumbling voice.
Rydstorm pulled Catori closer so that her head was resting on his chest. She made a soft purring sound while clinging to his right arm.
“Such a beautiful thing you are.” Rydstorm brushed hair back from Catori’s forehead before kissing her.
