Chapter 2327
Chapter 2327
When Grant and Bella entered the banquet hall together, another wave of whispers swept through the crowd.
Everyone's surprised gaze landed on the two of them.
"Am I seeing things?! That man beside Bella isn't Mr. Justin, but someone else?!"
"That gentleman is so elegant! His looks and presence certainly don't lose out to Mr. Justin!"
"Bella Thompson has so many brothers. Could he be one of them?"
"Grant!" Gregory's spirit instantly lifted, his face glowing as he strode over to the pair.
'Grant?!' The crowd was shocked, exchanging bewildered glances.
"Dad." Grant's eyes curved with a smile, clear as a lake.
As a prominent heiress, Bella maintained a polite demeanor in the Salvador family's setting, despite past conflicts with Gregory. She greeted him courteously, "Chairman Salvador, my father is resting at home, so he sent me to extend his regards."
She was poised and dignified.
Standing beside her like a graceful figure in a painting, Grant's elegant presence made them an exceptionally eye-catching pair.
"I appreciate Chairman Thompson's concern. Everything here is well," Gregory responded, shedding his usual coldness toward Bella and revealing a surprisingly warm, paternal smile, as though he and the Thompson family shared a close bond. "I heard that Chairman Thompson has been recovering abroad. I have yet to find time to visit. I'll reach out soon, and if he's free, I'll surely pay him a visit."
At that moment, Justin entered the banquet hall with his grandfather, Nigel, pushing his wheelchair.
Everyone present, including the grandfather and grandson, heard Gregory's words clearly.
Bella responded with a soft smile, neither agreeing nor disagreeing,
Her sharp mind easily saw through Gregory's underhanded motives.
During her relationship with Justin, there had been rumors about the animosity between the Thompson and Salvador families. Despite the depth of her and Justin's relationship and their discussions of marriage, Gregory never set foot in the Thompson family's home or even made a courtesy call.
Now, in front of Grant, Gregory showcased a warm and friendly side. The stark contrast in treatment between his two sons would certainly fuel endless speculation.
"Did Justin and Bella break up?"
"Really?! That's great! Now we all have a chance!"
"Oh my... Would they actually break up? I don't believe in love anymore!"
"Aren't you a hopeless romantic? Love was never something to believe in!"
"Looks like Bella is with Young Master Grant now, and she's got Chairman Salvador's blessing! She went from the younger brother to the older one... Quite the seductress, huh?"
"One woman for both brothers... She's quite the schemer."
The gossip did not go unnoticed.
Grant's sharp, handsome features turned slightly as his eyes, laced with a faint smile, swept in the direction of the chatter.
Those two gossipers immediately fell silent, nervously glancing around to mask their discomfort.
Grant looked away with faint indifference.
That single glance held no expression, yet it inexplicably sent chills through them, their scalps prickling.
The scene made Nigel's anger flare.
His face flushed red as he looked up at Justin, who stood there stiffly and nudged him forcefully with his elbow.
"Go! Get over there to Bella, hurry!"
Justin stared intently at the figures of Bella and Grant, who appeared so compatible together.
The taut lines of his muscular arm, concealed beneath his suit, gradually tightened. But still, he stood unmoved.
"You fool! Your wife is about to be taken away, and you're just standing there?!"
The old man's face turned crimson with fury, nearly unable to hold his tongue. If he could, he would have jumped up and knocked some sense into him. "Before, when Bella so much as talked to another man, you'd be seething with jealousy! And now, with your father pushing Bella toward your older brother, you just sit idly by? Has your brain turned to mush?! Damn it! Even a dog knows to mark its territory to claim what's theirs. Are you worse than a dog?"
Justin felt a sharp pang in his head, his chest rising and falling in suppressed agony. Then he turned and left the banquet hall.
