The Deadly Alpha

Chapter 19 -19-

It was funny how fate can turn us around to be the unintentional bad guy in the rollercoasters of wolves. I was designed to kill for I was the Moon Goddess's curse.

"But I don't understand,” I exclaimed, "how am I her curse? How did it begin?" I questioned, upset at the fact I only knew myself seconds ago.

"Sit down.” The doctor said and I took a seat in front of him.

"The Moon Goddess. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, the shapeshifting Goddess who becomes a wolf. She's also been associated with bears. The moon is very significant as Artemis is a moon goddess. It is said that she might be the maiden aspect of the triple moon goddess, with Selene and Hecate as the other two. A virgin goddess of wild animals, childbirth, and hunting. She was cursed for being a virgin by another enemy of her father Zeus called Atermis, the curse of the kill. She tried to rid of it without her father knowing but she couldn't so when your mother had you, you were born with the killing curse of the Moon Goddess."

I never uttered one word, not a single one. I was amazed by this old folklore, I was also very troubled and confused.

"But why me?” I asked again and the doctor exhaled.

"The Moon Goddess chose you to carry her curse because she died but the curse is stuck onto many generations, for example, if you die, others will have it." I forgot how to breathe as I heaved heavily and placed a hand on my heart, the doctor noticed and quickly put a breathing mask on me as I finally let out a breath.

I had these panic attacks a lot, majorly because my life threw many surprises at me.

"What happened?" The Alpha roared as he sensed my discomfort from our mating bond, he furrowed his eyebrows at the doctor.

"She got a panic attack.” I pleaded with my eyes at him to not share the news I just got. I sagged in relief when the doctor got my message.

"Why?" If Alpha's looks did kill, we'd all be dead.

I took out the mask and held Alpha's hand in mine, the sparks flew around us imaginarily. He was dazed by the intensity of the attraction between us that he didn't hear the doctor cough to interrupt us.

"It was nothing, I got her a birth control pill." I almost laughed at the excuse the doctor managed to create and the Alpha started in doubt at me, I attempted to have a very serious look.

"Erm, it was just for protection until we find out the pill issue,” I explained and he let it go, for now. I could tell he was about to pester me when we got out.

"So, you're lying to me again." My mate said when we went out to let the doctor have his rest.

"No, I wasn't." The rushed tone I had made him even angrier.

"Tell me right now-" he demanded but his sister saved my life, I threw in a thankful look as she looked confused but brushed it aside.

"My mate is coming today!" She danced happily in front of us but the Alpha remained sulking as he held my hand tightly in his. His sister seemed to notice his behavior and quirked an eyebrow at me. "He just didn't sleep, your brother is as moody as a little kid who hasn't got his diaper changed.” That got him out of it as he glared at me and his sister laughed.

"You got that one right.” She mused as my mate chased her when she ran. Their relationship was fun to watch. I hugged my arms around me as I stood in the peace and calm of the Sterlight pack field. The sun was calming and the breeze picked up my hair as it swayed.

What are we going to do? We can't just die and leave our mate. Lace sadly said and I felt helpless, I couldn't just leave him like his first mate. He was a disturbed man, even the little him evaded my dreams. I just couldn't do this to him.

We just have to wait and see. I said, not knowing how to reply to my agitated wolf.

The rush of sickness stuck in my head as the world whizzed around me and I collapsed on the green grass of the pack’s field, clutching my head like it was going to explode.

"Argh!" The Alpha heard my groan of pain as he rushed to my side, my mate and his sister.

The darkness filled my vision but a huge light was emitted at the middle of the dark room, it was- The Moon Goddess. Lace confirmed.

She was a slender young woman with flowing silvery blonde hair and pale blue eyes, dressed in a silken blue and white tunic, she was just so beautiful.

I blinked at her, thinking she was going to disappear but her blue eyes laughed warmly at my behavior.

"Sorry for the pain I caused you when I summoned you." Even her voice was melodic to the ears. Her words held double meanings to it.

"It's okay," I whispered as I gazed at her like a shiny new toy.

"I am sure that the doctor told you about my curse, I watched so many deaths before you because of that curse that got on carried by others from me, I wish I had control to stop this but a curse is a curse and it will continue for generations, it's what killed me.” She explained with a saddened expression on her face.

"I understand but the thought of leaving my mate behind kills me," I confessed to her and she nodded understandingly.

"The cursed mate and the deadly Alpha, I paired you up because you twistingly look like a nice couple.” She answered and I laughed. She was right.

We were a perfect twist. The cursed Luna and the deadly Alpha, whose name was cursed too.
