Chapter 141
Struggling to her feet, she barely had time to react before Evelyn grabbed a half-empty bottle of red wine from the table and dumped it over Sena's head. "Ah!"
Sena collapsed back onto the floor, instinctively shielding her face with her hands. Her scream echoed in the private room. Evelyn moved so swiftly that no one had a chance to intervene. By the time the entire bottle was emptied over Sena, Brody finally snapped out of his daze and jumped to his feet to intervene.
"Go ahead. Try me," Evelyn challenged Brody, her eyes cold as ice. "I'll cover the cost of the wine."
This crowd was nothing but trouble.
Brody furrowed his brows, taking in the chaos Evelyn had stirred up. "Evelyn, no wonder Charles doesn't fancy you."
"As if I care!" Evelyn shot back with a smirk.
"Evelyn, what are you doing?"
Charles had been smoking in the private room across the hall to calm his nerves. He had just managed to quell the irritation Evelyn's antics sparked in him. He'd sought out Charlie to keep Evelyn in check. But truth be told, he genuinely wanted to see Charlie too. Her amusement park drawing that Evelyn showed him at Oakwood Manor had struck a chord. Those images would sneak into his mind when he least expected it. He wanted to make up for the missed amusement park trip.
The commotion from the next room snapped Charles out of his thoughts when he heard Evelyn and Sena's names. Snuffing out his cigarette, he swung open the door and stepped into the fray.
As soon as he entered Room 888, he caught Evelyn mid-confrontation with Brody. Her defiant "As if I care" turned his expression icy.
Sensing things were about to escalate, Brody quickly ushered everyone else out, leaving Charles with the scene.
"You might want to ask your sweet cousin what she pulled on me first," Evelyn sneered, looking down at Sena with icy disdain.

Sena was just about to voice her complaints, but now that Charles had arrived, she froze at Evelyn's words. Fear had her glancing at Dahlia, who crouched beside her. times of panic, people naturally gravitated toward those they trusted, and Sena leaned towards Dahlia despite being drenched in wine and looking a mess?Dahlia's eyes flickered with barely hidden disgust, but she kept it in check, clutching Sena's arm to comfort her.
Evelyn wasn't banking on Charles for anything. She turned to him and said bluntly, "Sena and Michael orchestrated the drugging. So, what do you reckon I should do?" Charles' gaze turned steely as he locked eyes with Sena.
Sena clung to Dahlia, seeking her help. She knew well enough about Charles' zero-tolerance policy when it came to drugging people because of that incident five years ago. If he learned she was behind dosing Evelyn, he'd never let it slide.
Playing the protective big sister, Dahlia stepped in to defend Sena "Evelyn it was wrong of Sena

first.
"Is snatching what others love your hobby? Five years ago, you took Charles and drove me away. Now, you're after Brooks, using Rosa's memory lapse to swipe Sena's man. "Sena's been in love with Brooks for years. You swooped in and took him on a date, leaving her in despair. This made her go off track.
"And anyway, you turned out just fine, didn't you?"
