The Day I Kissed An Older Man

Chapter 2935

Chapter 2935

Karen cried and silently knelt by Sadie's side without trying to defend herself. Sadie, on the other hand, feebly tried to explain herself. Alas. Vince refused to listen.

There had been many occasions before when he had chosen to believe Karen and Sadie, but at this moment, he realized he had been terribly wrong to do that.

Rita used to be so kind, understanding, and well-behaved. However, ever since Karen and Sadie moved in, Vince felt like his daughter had become manipulative, always trying to compete for attention, and stirring up jealousy in front of him.

Unfortunately, it took Rita's disappearance to make Vince realize that Rita was not trying to compete for attention. All Rita wanted from him was to treat her the same as Sadie.

Vince used to think that Rita should give in to Sadie more since Sadie was younger, too.

"Why don't you go live with your biological father since you prefer him so much? I never want to see you show your face around here anymore! As for your mother, she's still carrying my baby in her belly, so she's staying here. I'm not going to let her go back to that ex-husband of hers."

Sadie sat blankly in the chair. Her hands and feet were still bound, and her cheeks were wet with tears." Dad... what are you saying? Are you kicking me out of the family?"

"You're not my daughter," he interjected coldly, "so stop calling me 'Dad"."

Karen accepted this outcome. She simply said, "Vince... it's fine if you don't believe me. After the child is born, it'll prove that I have absolutely no intention of getting back with that man. You know very well that man abused me, how I barely escaped from that hellhole back then. How could I possibly want to go back?"

Vince still had some trust in Karen, but Sadie had no blood relation to him at all. How could he let Sadie stay in the family after what she had done to Rita?

"Don't worry, I'm not that heartless. You can stay here until your wounds heal."

Needless to say, Sadie did not have any major injuries. In fact, Sherman's bodyguards were under strict order not to lay a single finger on her. At most, she had some cuts from the ropes binding her wrists.

One of the servants untied her, but even after being freed, she continued to sit blankly, unsure of what to do next. She did not understand how things had escalated to this point. Rita was supposed to be dead at this point, and Sadie was supposed to be happily eating dinner with the family!

Before long, she would be able to take Rita's position as Sherman's wife. Sherman might be sad for a while after losing Rita, but he would not be sad forever. Her opportunity would come naturally...

How did things end up with her being kicked out of the Russell family?

Sadie simply could not understand.

After Vince left, Karen walked up to Sadie and sighed. "I've always told you not to be so greedy, but you never listened. Isn't that boy from the Marseille family good enough for you?

"You've screwed up this time, Sadie. No boy from any respectable family would ever want to marry you now. You should know it wasn't easy for me to raise you. Forget it. You're an adult now. I've prepared some things to give to you when you get married, but you can take it with you now."

Sadie looked up in shock. "Mom...don't you want me either?"

Karen frowned, looking very troubled. "It's not that I don't want you, but you saw how angry Vince was. He won't let you continue to stay here!

"You should go live with Esmond. I'm sure he won't mistreat you as long as you don't get up to no good again."
