The Damned Princess

I have lived the life span of almost two humans and I have never been this happy ever. Being with my mate has made me feel the content I spent centuries looking for. Time is passing by; it was the new year before we were over our Christmas.

We are back in college, although it is a stressful time now. We all have a load of assignments and exams; I don’t care about all this but it’s an important time for Jay and V so I am trying my best to keep them motivated and not distract them.

V and Daniel are going strong, we have warmed up a little more to him now. There is always a nagging thought at the back of my head when it comes to him but I am trying to neglect it because he has been really good towards my best friend, also Piero couldn’t find anything on him yet.

He always hangs out with us, at college and sometimes even after that and I don’t mind it because that way I get to keep an eye on V, don’t get me wrong it’s just really hard for me to trust new people and V and Jay are humans entering the lycan world, they need to be protected until they can do it themselves.

To start the process, we have started training Jay with my brother. Nothing could prepare you to fight a lycan better than training with the future lycan king. Liam wanted me to do this but I can’t, I would always be too worried to hurt him.

My brother is the one who I trust the most after myself to keep my mate safe so there is no one better than him to do this but I still warned him a million times to be careful. Jay is not a lycan, if he gets hurt, he would not heal in a blink. They both are taking it slow, twice every week. This also gives me some time to train and I have been forcing Becky to train with me, she is still not a fan though.

It was Saturday evening and we just ended our training session. Becky and I were preparing dinner when Piero walked into our house. He greeted me and Becky and asked to talk to me. “Can it wait Piero”, I asked him but Becky intervened, “it’s okay Enna we’re almost done here anyway”. I nodded at her and gestured Piero to join me on the dining table.

He started “I was looking into all the information we’ve about Pablo and I found something very odd”. I was already on alert hearing his name, Jay walked to us and kissed my cheek and sat next to me, Li and Becky also joined us and served food.

“Enna you haven’t dropped this Daniel case till now, we hang out with that dude every day don’t you think we would’ve noticed something by now”, Becky said to me slightly upset. “I know Becks, I’m sorry but there’s this nagging feeling in my head that won’t let me trust him”, I said.

“And see Piero has something on him finally, please tell us what it is”, I asked Piero. He nodded and continued, “although Daniel has been living in California he traveled a lot before you moved here. First I didn’t pay attention to this because I thought it could’ve been because of any reason”.

“But then I saw the pattern. He has visited all the countries that you’ve lived in and he always visited them while you were there. Like when you were in France for two years, he did back and forth between here and there for whole two years and the last time he was there was the last week you were planning to move”.

“The pattern’s the same, wherever you’ve been in the past decade, he has been there and when you moved here, he didn’t go out of the country even once”. A fire started burning in me, “I’ll end him” I growled.

“You can’t just kill him he is V’s mate Amore”, Jay said and grabbed my hand. “I don’t care, I’ll find her a better person to be with” I hissed at my mate. “Enough Enna, you won’t do anything as that” Becky shouted. “You can’t kill him based on such little information, give the guy a chance to explain himself”.

“What if you find out he was innocent after you end him because of momentarily anger, how will you forgive yourself for ruining V’s life”, she said angrily. My brother was sitting quietly, I looked at him hoping at least he would understand my side.

“One thing’s clear, he’s more involved in our lives than he shows us”, Liam said looking at me. “Piero ask him to come here to talk to us but don’t tell him about what and if he has done what we think” he turned towards Becky and said, “he dies”.

Piero talked to Cris on phone for a while and asked us “he’s with V right now, do you want to wait or should I bring him right now”. “No, let V leave when she’s safe at her place, I want him here then” Liam ordered, Piero nodded and left.

I was impatient but I don’t want to involve V more than she is right now, so I did not object to Liam’s order. “I don’t feel hungry, you guys continue I’ll eat later” I excused myself and went to my room.

Jay followed right behind me and sat next to me on my bed without saying a word. I know he wanted to say something, “if you think I’m wrong you can shout at me too Jay”, I told him without looking at him.

“I don’t want to shout at you”, he said softly. He grabbed me turned me towards him, “tell me what’s going in your head, what do you think Daniel must have done” he asked. I took in a deep breath, “I don’t know what he did but you know how he has a link with my past”.

“The fire to avenge your loved ones can consume a lycan to the point where they can’t even think sanely. I know for a fact that Daniel wants to avenge the death of his parents and if I speak honestly, I understand him. If it would’ve been in my hands, I would’ve helped him”.

“But it’s not, I warned him. Heracles is not an ordinary lycan, he’s very powerful and over the decades he has only become stronger, somehow, he always knows where I’m and sends his men to check on me. It wasn’t a problem until I was alone”

“I couldn’t care less about his men keeping a watch on me, most of them ended with the same fate, torn apart by my hands. But now I’ve you, I can’t risk anybody finding out about you, just the thought of someone harming you tears me apart”.

“If Daniel’s anyhow linked with Heracles, it would end very badly. If he were to find out about you, hell would break loose, there will be a war, I could lose you” I whispered the last part, tears were falling from my eyes.

Jayson pulled me in his laps, “but baby what if Daniel has nothing to do with all this, what if he has an explanation for all this” he said and wiped the tears. “Then I don’t have any reason to harm him”, I told him honestly.

“And if it’s what you think”, he asked, my eyes met his “I would give him the worst possible death anyone can think of. You and Becky can hate me all you want but nobody messes with the lycan princess, especially if it’s about my mate” I said, very honestly.

He froze, his eyes were blank, I could not tell how he was feeling at this moment. He put me back on my bed and left the room. I don’t how to explain to him and Becky that I don’t want to do any of this either, I would hate to rob V of her mate but if my doubts come true then even, she would not be safe with him.

I sat alone in my room processing everything in my mind, I was praying to the goddess that he has an actual explanation to offer and we don’t have to go through all of this. Liam came to my room after a while “Enna, Piero called Daniel will be here in fifteen minutes”.

I nodded at him and said, “please ask Piero to join Cris and ask both of them to not let V out of their sight for even one second”. He nodded at me and left. I took in a few deep breaths and went downstairs. Becky and Jay were in the living area sitting quietly, help me goddess, I prayed.

I went to Liam when he hung up, “are you also mad at me brother”. He had a softened look on his face and he pulled me close for a hug, “don’t stress sorellina, if Daniel’s guilty, he deserves to be punished and both of them will come along eventually, come Daniel will be here in a few minutes”.

We both joined them in the living area, I sat next to my mate even though he does not look like he wants me near him but he is the only one who can keep me sane. Our bell rang in a few moments and Liam went to check.

Daniel walked in and greeted us and sat with us, none of us reacted to him. My heart was hammering against my chest, I looked at Liam because I wanted him to do the talking. I am very close to losing myself to my lycan and I don’t want to tear him apart just now.

Jayson must have sensed my discomfort so he grabbed my hand and squeezed it a little in a comforting manner, I smiled at him thankfully. Liam put the file Piero bought in front of Daniel, “Daniel Pablo Rivera, I want you to look into the file and read everything very carefully.”

“I want you to take as much time as you want and then explain everything”, Liam told him in his alpha voice and then sat right in front of Daniel. I could sense Daniel’s heart rate increasing, he slowly looked into the file and carefully looked at all the information.

His face visibly paled when he took in all the information, “it’s time to confess your sins Pablo” I said to him with a polite smile on my face but I was sure he could see the storm brewing behind the smile and he knew he would not be able to withstand it.
