The Curse Of Eden

Chapter 12- A double kill

I had to work quickly or I'll be out of time.

I took cover in the bushes, waiting, and carefully calculating my every move. It was very quiet inside that I started doubting anyone being home. But after a while, the moving shadows confirmed their presence.

My legs were starting to feel numb from my crouched position but I endured it. And I watched with focused eyes. Listening to every sound and watching every movement.

Until he finally made himself visible to me.

The rope in his hand got my blood boiling in my veins at the thought of what he'll be using it for, or rather, what he already used it for.

I watched as he marched his way out his front porch, a noticeable grimace on his face. He turned the corner of his house, grabbing a shovel on his way, that rested against the wall. And I made me move.

I stood up to my full length, stealthily tiptoeing after my prey.

But this one was wary. He was on guard. But I was faster. I'm always faster.

I hid by the corner behind the wall as he turned his head to check for any onlookers, and when he finally had his back turned to me once again, I swiftly made my move. I had no time to waste.

He struggled in my arms for a good minute before his body starting falling limp in my hold. His body strength and endurance were greater than what I had anticipated and it gave me a challenge. The thrill of it caused my adrenaline pumps to take it up to a new level and my heart started beating erratically in excitement.

He struggled in my arms more, like a fish fresh out of the water, making me tighten my grip. It was always the same with these men and no matter how hard they struggled, they still could never out strengthen me. Another minute and he was fully gone.

I carried his limp body on my shoulder, his weight slowing me down and knocking some breath out of me but the task was still doable.

I finally reached his car and unlocked it with the keys I snatched from his pocket.

A minute later, we were out of the neighborhood and out of sight.

I felt no ounce of remorse for what I was doing. I didn't feel for him or for the others before him. They chose their way in life and I chose mine. I believe down in my heart that this is the only way.

He was already starting to wake up groggily as I finished tying him to the chair, his wrists facing up and fully exposed.

A minute passed before he realized where he was and as soon as he saw me, he started struggling in his place.

"What do you think you're doing? Untie me right now!" He yelled and growled like a wild animal.

I watched him silently, my eyes never leaving him and my body never leaving my slouched positing against the wall. He can scream all he wants, it won't be changing a thing. They all scream. Another minute or two passed before he finally stopped to take a breath.

"What do you want from me? Let me go." He begged weakly. Breathlessly.

"To wipe you all out I suppose." I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly as I pushed my body from the wall and approached him slowly.

They always said to never play with your food, but taunting them and seeing the looks of fear on their faces was always the best part of it.

A muffled groan suddenly resonated from the other side of the room, notifying me that the other one had started to wake up as well.

"What the..." The first man spoke as he looked to his side. His eyes widened as he realized who that person was and I smirked.

"What? Aren't you going to greet your leader?" I patted the first man's shoulder as I passed by to stand behind him. I took hold of the chair and turned it so he faced the second guy.

He let out an animalistic growl as he shook from side to side, trying to loosen the ropes. "What do you want from us! Don't you know who we are? What we can do to you?"

I let out a chuckle. "What? You're going to beat me up too?" My words ended in a sneer. "Like how you all do to those poor kids and their mothers?"

He kept silent but his bared teeth remained visible through his inaudible sneer. I could hear his teeth crushing against each other from how hard he was biting down on them. These men never scared me.

I walked towards the other man who was slowly coming back to reality.

"You think you're so tough. So smart. So... Right. When all you do is go after something that is not real. Making up some new religion, going around hurting your families and you think all that won't go unpunished?" I taunted as I twirled the other man's chair so he too faced his cult mate.

The leader, was smart enough to keep his mouth shut but the other man wasn't.

"What do you even know you filthy bastard? Living your life aimlessly and not thinking about the consequences! We've done nothing wrong!"

"You've already done a lot!" I snapped at him. "No religion supports abuse. No religion supports hurting children and women. Not from the far east to the far west was abuse looked upon lightly in any religion. You are nothing but crazy lunatics and if the government won't stop you then I will."

With that said, I swiftly drew out my Swiss knife and faster than they can realize, I slit the first man's right wrist before moving onto his left.

He yelled in pain and struggled some more, but like all the others who struggled before him, it was of no use.

I walked tauntingly towards the leader who's widened, frightened eyes never left his dying cult mate.

His gaze turned up to me once I stood directly in front of him.

"P-please. Please don't. I'll stop, I promise I will." He begged but it fell down on my deaf ears.

"Pathetic." I ticked my tongue.

"This, is what you're leading your people to. You think everything in this life is a sin. Well, irony just called and you'll be dying by one of those sins."

I waited no longer before I slit his wrists carefully as well before taking a couple of steps back, watching the two men struggling. I watched with cold eyes. I was their karma and they were getting what they deserved.

A shooting pain suddenly traveled across the right side of my head, the severity forcing me to close my pumping eye. The pain intensified and I knew I had to hurry up.

I grabbed two chloroform filled rags I had prepared and drugged the men again one by one. They wouldn't be waking up this time. Slowly, they started drifting away and when they both got knocked out, I knew it was finally time for me to move. I gagged them with the drug-filled rags to leave no loopholes before gathering the little bag I had and made a move.

The pain in my head stabbed angrily, leaving a burning trace along its path. The intensity of it made me stop in my tracks and groan heavily.

It subsided as fast as it came and I rushed extra fast to leave.

My job here, for now, was done and the only thing left was the show.
