Chapter 10 "god's Of Death"
Right now everything was the opposite, this world was backward. There were kings, warriors and a population that praised their king like a god. I read stories about Kings and Queens but that set up was from the old age when monarchs still existed. I felt like I was living in history. There was no technology here, the dressing was different and the way they had these rules they followed so much was weird.
The only words that could describe these land people was "savages". They were savage, ruthless, murderers. They werent even people, they were literally animals. We had to get out of here and fast otherwise we were as good as dead.
"why the hell would you agree to this madness!" Lilah asked, horrified. We were in a strange room within a strange small cave. It looked like a prison and felt like a prison with two guards at the entrance. Candles were placed in every corner but it still felt dark. This was worse than living underwater for ages and ages.
I sighed as I looked at her "If I didn't we would be a full meal for those animals Lilah, is that what you want?"
She groaned in frustration knowing I was right, "This is madness, they can't do this to us. What are we going to do?"
"escape of course" Amara said with her head held high. She looked like a leader when she did that, her words held so much confidence it radiated off of her .
"great, how are we supposed to do that?" Lilah asked
"it's impossible, you are all just going to get yourselves killed. It's us versus them, beasts. They are faster than us, much more vicious and they are definitely not afraid of ending us at any second. I bet they are waiting for us to make one silly move and... "John snapped his two fingers before continuing, "bam we are all dead. So go ahead be my guest if you all have a death wish".
"I'm afraid I have to agree with..." Tyler nodded his head in John's direction "him on this one, look at us guys. We don't stand a chance. The least we can do is come up with a concrete plan because right now we cannot afford to have something poorly planned"
Amara sighed as she brushed some of her red hair away from her face "So we just let them have Aria while we are made slaves or prisoners?"
"listen all we need to do is come up with a concrete plan to get out of here. Our leaders will be here soon, we need to warn them and get them to gather up a rescue team. They have weapons and numbers of people that can help us." Tyler explained.
I liked his idea,"Tyler is right, if we die in here our parents and the council following up will be killed as well. They don't know what they are getting into once they are here. We need to survive this and come up with a plan soon."
CLARKE
My throat felt like it had a huge sore in it and my eyes burned with unshed tears as I walked in the incubation halls. Hundreds of children under the age of five lay in their pods lifeless.Soon we would join them If Jack did not come up with a plan soon. Who would he sacrifice for us to survive... There was too much death, this wasn't right.
I didn't want this to happen, this was murder. I was a murderer, a destroyer of life. We had made ourselves gods of death by taking away so many lives. I held my mouth as held in a sob, if there was a hell I was going straight there.
My stomach dropped as I saw some movement in one of the pods. I quickly ran towards it as if my life depended on it. "please be alive, please be alive..." I whispered to myself as I ran fast.
My eyes widened as I saw a little girl, less than six years old trying to open her pod but she was too weak. She kept throwing soft punches on the glass but it wouldn't open, her eyes were barely open at this point. The poison gas was slowly suffocating her.
I hit her glass door to get her attention and mouthed "Do not close your eyes!" hoping she would read my lips. She was too drugged-her eyes were all over the place. I gave up trying to keep her awake, it was pointless. I had to look for a way to open the pod very fast.
I searched for some sort of button to open the pod. The pod was just glass everywhere, I couldn't find a single button to open this thing. I cried out as I realized I might not be able to save this child. Suddenly she looked up as I let my tears flow down my cheeks staring at her.
I scrunched up my eyebrows, this was the only time her eyes actually focused on something. I followed her eyes and looked at what she was looking at. It was a long thick cable connected to her pod. It was plugged to some sort of gas tank. I quickly ran towards it and unplugged it without giving it a second thought.
As soon as I unplugged it her pod opened in an instant. I ran back to her pod and carried her tiny body out. She started coughing out loud, most of the gas was in her lungs. "I need to get you out of here, you need to be quiet-can you do that?" I asked her softly and she nodded her head. "good girl"
One thing was for sure we were going to find a way out of here one way or another.
