The Crown Of Fire - Book 1 of The Stormrider Chronicles

Chapter Eddie XVI

He ran until his lungs begged for reprieve and his legs ached.

He was desperately searching for Octavia and Aria. He was going to do what Alex said. He wanted to. He really did.

He knew that Aria was somewhere in the midst of the battle. He couldn’t find her, no matter how hard he tried. His best bet was to find Octavia first.

Find Octavia and get her away from the battle first. Whether or not she listens is another thing. It was doubtful that she was going to leave her brother in the middle of a war. But he had to try. He owed them all so much.

And by destroying the wand, he gave them a fighting chance. He knew that was her main source of power, and he knew that in order to destoy her, the wand needed to go. He did what he thought was necessary. And yes, he’ll admit when she tried to attack him, it scared him, but he didn’t want anyone to intervene.

He wanted to avenge Omdrus. He wanted to avenge everyone who’d suffered by her hand. He wanted to avenge himself. He wanted to fight her.

And though, he was grateful to Alex for saving his life, he wished that he was fighting her. He wished that he could fight her because she deserved nothing less than to look him in the eye.

Seraphina was pure evil disguised in purifying beauty. To take one look at her, you’d think she was a goddess. A devine deity who sought only the best for everyone. But to know her was to see her cruelty and insanity.

He hated her. He hated her with every part of his being. With everything that made him real. He hated her so much that it physically hurt. And he was willing to jump right into hell if it meant that her terror would never reign again.

He hated bullies and that’s exactly what Seraphina was. She was a bully. She’d tortured Aria, her sister. She’d messed with his head. She’d nearly destroyed the realm.

Seraphina was not deserving of life. This was evil in its latest forms. This was evil at its height.

He stood on the cliff, he was looking for Octavia everywhere and anywhere. But he looked down the cliff.

Alex fought Seraphina the best he could. But she was much more experienced than he was. She was on Aria’s level. Perhaps even higher.

And the redhaired boy watched from horror on the cliffs as her blade was embedded in Alex’s flesh.

That was when he knew, now more than ever, that he had to find Octavia.

She had the medicine that could mean the difference between life and death.
