The Copy Mage

Chapter 120: Survivor Part 2

Damian's body felt sore all over after it was pushed past its limits when he used the Shadow Speed Technique to its fullest, and as an Internal Cultivator, his body was quite frail and couldn't handle such pressure.

His body was also damaged slightly from the fall, which matched with the fatigue, the pressure that was being emitted by the assassin, and the gap in cultivation level, he had no chance against him in a direct fight.

"Who was that girl and why are you after her," asked Damian who was barely able to speak under the pressure of the assassins aura and killing intent.

"Hahahaha, do you really think you are in any position to ask questions?" mocked the assassin as he kicked Damian, who lay on the ground, in his stomach, sending him sliding backwards.

"She is the daughter of the Graham Family Head and your mind is too feeble and ignorant to understand the power and influence of that Family. Because of that, the price that was placed on her head by the family's enemies was incredible, especially with her beauty that would make any female jealous. The reward for killing her will soon belong to me and my companions, but before then, I will allow you to have a taste of my Soul Spirit" stated the assassin, who was completely sure that he would be able to kill Damian with ease and that after he was dead, he wouldn't be able to do anything with the information that he just told him.

[What a stupid assassin, not only did he give me information about who that girl was, but he also revealed to me that he was planning to kill me using his Soul Spirit, which was exactly the opportunity that I needed] thought Damian to himself as the light in his bright yellow eyes was yet to be extinguished.

It was obvious to the assassin that Damian could barely move, and even if he could, he was still too slow and was weakened, so wouldn't be able to escape or threaten him in the slightest, so it was the perfect opportunity to let out his anger on Damian.

The assassin was twisted and had a very sinister character, but that was expected from somebody that would be willing to kill others for a reward and enjoy doing so.

Like one would expect, somebody who had a Soul Spirit that was most suited to killing, would be exiled and seen as somebody who was evil and that was how the trio of assassins were treated after awakening their Soul Spirits. Although their talent was average, according to the standard of the country that they were from, with their Soul Spirits, they were very skilled assassins and they joined together after hearing about each other's similar pasts and situations.

After banding together, the trio instead of taking assassination requests directly, which was a hassle and harder to deal with, the three of them joined a guild that specialised in assassinations and would accept assassination requests through the guild.

Activating his Soul Spirit, there was a sudden eerie feeling about his aura that surprised and intimidated Damian even more.

[What kind of Soul Spirit is that] thought Damian to himself, not recognising the aura and the element that he sensed the assassin's Soul Spirit was using.

"You must be wondering what my Soul Spirit is capable of. Well then, let me show you" said the assassin as green fog suddenly appeared around his right hand.

"My Soul Spirit allows me to control a deadly poison that is produced by my body, and I am the only person in the world that is immune to it. In order to produce an antidote, one would need to kill me, acquire my blood and find some way to make an antidote with it, but by then, the poisoned person would have already died. Not only will my poison kill you, but it will be slow and painful, so you will pay for daring to get in my way" said the assassin with an evil smile as he controlled the green fog and sent it towards Damian.contemporary romance

Damian was smiling despite the poison heading towards him and it was exactly as he had hoped.

If the assassin was immune to the poison because it was his Soul Spirit, then if Damian was able to copy his Soul Spirit, he would become immune to the poison attack and might be able to trick the assassin into believing that he was dying, allowing him to get away.

But it was easier said than done and Damian's timing had to be impeccable. Any mistake in such a situation would result in his death.

With a wave of his arm, the deadly green fog rushed towards the defenceless Damian and entered his mouth, his nose and his pores as Damian instantly began to feel the poison corroding him internally and causing him excruciating pain.

Damian couldn't help but let out a wail as his senses began to feel overwhelmed by the pain that the poison caused, as it continued to spread around his body and damage him internally while bombarding his nerves with pain.

"Hahaha, enjoying the pain of my poison. There is no way that you will be able to survive its effects and the pain it causes alone is enough to make anybody insane" laughed the assassin as he watched Damian for a minute then left.

In a foreign country, even if it was quite a small and weak country, there could be dangers and people that would be able to kill them, so he wanted to catch up to his companions and help them complete the mission so that he could leave and get his reward.

Everything had turned out how Damian had hoped, as he had the opportunity to save himself, but he had underestimated the pain that he would have to overcome in order to copy the Soul Spirit and dispel the poison.
