Chapter 74
Unknown
Moon and Colin decide to take Bella back to the packhouse rather than the clinic. There isn’t much anyone can do for her anyway. Sam is being returned to his family. He hands bunny back to Moon and looks one last time at the strange little girl in Colin’s arms.
“Moon, is she going to be okay? I’m sorry for running into danger again. I just wanted to help.” Sam tries to explain.
“It’s okay, Sam,” Moon kneels down, hugging him. “I’m glad that you aren’t hurt.”
“Is she going to be okay?” He asks, looking up at Moon.
“I think she will be fine. Try not to worry, all right.” She strokes his hair, and he looks at her, feeling sad and ashamed of himself. His mother calls his name, and he rushes to her, being held and comforted by her.
Moon and Colin get Bella back to her room, clean her up, and dress her, both quiet and lost in their thoughts.
Things have gotten more complicated now. Kiara says, pacing in Moon’s mind.
Yeah, you can say that. Moon is lost in thought and thinking back to Helios and his memory that she saw.
Kiara, Bella is his child, isn’t she? Moon has a sudden realization. The woman looked a lot like little Bella, and as they dressed, her. Moon saw the sun necklace still around her neck.
I think so, but who was the woman? Kiara asks.
I don’t know, but we should find out. I need to talk to Selene. Moon huffs, aggravated, and sits on the bed next to Bella.
“What is happening? where did you go?” Colin finally asks, looking down at Moon.
She explains, and he listens to her running his hands through his hair and eventually sitting on the floor.
“You saw us? You’re telling me we are the reincarnation, and you were the last white wolf.” Colin’s face is a blank mask, but Moon knows a storm of emotions is raging inside of him, and she moves to the floor to sit with him.
“That is what I saw, and that is what I remember. We failed last time, and I think that is why Selene sent us back here to do what we failed to do last time.
“This is all so strange. It’s like something you read in a book, not real life.” Colin sighs, shaking his head. “The fact that we failed before almost makes it worse.”
“I have to agree with you. I need to talk to Selene.” Moon looks lost in thought again, and Colin wraps her in his arms, pulling her close to him.
“We will figure it out together.” he says softly, and Moon can’t help but remember the scene in the woods and that being one of the last things he said to her before.

“How did you fail to kill them! She hasn’t even remembered everything or who she is, and you failed me!” Eos rages. Pacing in the room, the crackling fire is the only light.
“My apologies, goddess, we didn’t expect the child to be what she is. Did you know of her? If you had warned us that she is special, then we would have been prepared for it.” Maddox tries to explain his son’s failure away.
In truth, Eos didn’t know of the child at all. Further, adding to her anger, how could she not know of the child? How had it been hidden from her?
“You need to put an end to this and do it now!” Eos orders glaring at the man. He looks terrified, and Eos couldn’t care any less for the pathetic creature. She may need to take matters into her own hands this time. It was enough last time to have others do her bidding, but they seem stronger this time. How can they be so much stronger than before?

“Do you think they will win this time, sister?” Helios paces the woods as Selene sits watching the water.
“Well, they have a little more to fight for this time. They just need to believe they can.” Selene says thoughtfully.
“I don’t like that my child is the weapon to kill a god.” Helios growls. “She is only a child.”
“She may only be a child, but her wolf Kenna is far from just a pup. I gave her that wolf for a reason. You know she is the only one strong enough to use the power of the sun that Bella was born with. When she wakes, Kenna will know what she has to do, and Eos will be drawn to that power like a moth to the flame.”
“I still don’t like it.” Helios mutters. “When this is over, I want her to be a child. She deserves that. Promise me.”
“I can’t take the power she was born with away, but I can hold it at bay for a time. So I will do what I can once this is over.”
“Are you really going to let them kill Eos?”
“No, I love our sister, but I plan to weaken her and lock her away. It is better than she would do to me.”

Bella suddenly wakes; Moon and Colin go to check on her, but she seems strange and won’t look at them. It’s like she isn’t awake. They look at each other, and when they try to stop her from getting out of bed, the wolf that speaks to them is not what they expect.
“Please don’t stop me. I must end this, and it needs to be now.” her voice is assertive and filled with power. Yet she is not unkind, “Bella will be alright she is sleeping and doesn’t know what is happening. I will make sure she doesn’t, but I need to go.”
Moon and Colin look at each other but don’t get long to think before the wolf has little Bella running from the room, and they are forced to follow her. The moment they are out of the packhouse, the wolf shifts and takes off at a full run for the woods. Moon and Colin do the same, and the three wolves run at full speed never looking back. The red wolf still burning like fire, giving off a light all its own. Even Kiara seems to glow like the moon, Colin is in awe at the sight of the god-like wolves. Farrell is even quiet as he watches them run effortlessly ahead of him, illuminating the woods around them.
This could really be it. This could be the end of it all. Farrell sighs, hoping that it all ends in their favor trying to trust in the unknown.
