The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles)

Chapter 387

With the receptionist's guidance, Noelle made her way to the project department. Since she had been there once before, she quickly found Brian's office.

Brian's assistant, Arya Millerd, who seemed to have been informed about Noelle's arrival that day, asked, "Are you Noelle Shaw?"

Noelle nodded, and as she was about to knock on Brian's office door, it swung open from the inside.

Brian had appeared and was seemingly ready to leave. He was momentarily surprised to see Arya and Noelle together but quickly said, "I'm heading to a meeting now. Arya, please show Ms. Shaw around, familiarize her with the environment, and explain any important details.

"Afterward, take her to the HR department to complete the onboarding process."

Brian spoke quickly and left with long strides, leaving Noelle standing there, trying to process his brisk efficiency.

Arya smiled at Noelle. "Don't worry about it. That's just how our director is. Once you get used to it, it feels normal," Arya explained, assuming that Noelle was not accustomed to such a fast-paced environment. Noelle quickly shook her head. "No, it's fine. I actually think it's refreshing. Ms. Miller, could you please show me around and introduce me to the team?"

"Sure. I'll take you to meet some colleagues first, then we'll head over to HR to finalize your paperwork. By the way, Ms. Shaw, where did you work before this?" Arya paused, looking at Noelle thoughtfully. "You look really familiar."

"Really?" Noelle smiled. "Maybe I just have one of those faces. I used to work at a small, unknown company."

Noelle was not trying to hide her previous work experience. She just did not want to bring up any connections to Frotconn.

Arya laughed, giving Noelle a once-over. "You don't exactly have an ordinary face!"

Arya was being sincere. She had seen plenty of beautiful women, but someone with Noelle's elegance and presence, who could instantly stand out in a crowd, was rare.

Hence, when Noelle made that comment, Arya simply took it as modesty.

Arya introduced Noelle to several colleagues in the project

department, and they all showed ax lot of curiosity about her. Collosus Group typically hired on a quarterly basis and did not just bring people in randomly. The fact that Noelle was the only new hire at this time piqued everyone's interest.

Noelle maintained that she was just an ordinary person, but under Arya's persistent questioning, she

mentioned that she was a distant relative of Ronald. This explanation finally satisfied everyone's curiosity.

Ronald's name carried significant weight in the company, given that he was Charles' right-hand man. Apart from Charles and the shareholders, Ronald probably had the most influence in the company. Hearing his name, no one pressed Noelle any further.

After escaping their curiosity, Noelle followed Arya to HR, where she completed her onboarding paperwork. Arya then led her to her new desk.

The high-level management meeting, which typically lasted a long time, had taken everyone by surprise, leaving them unprepared.

As a result, Charles harshly criticized the participants, demanding they quickly produce well-organized plans.

He also paid close attention to the financial and overseas departments, scrutinizing their performance.

By the time the meeting ended, everyone felt utterly exhausted, as if they had been put through the wringer. They then quietly dispersed from the conference room.
