Chapter 63
“I’m not your toy. Besides, the relationship between us is only for raising the children together. There is nothing else. If you offend me again, I won’t care about the promise and will leave with the children. The children will not like you to be their daddy.”
“Don’t threaten me with the children. If you dare to leave me, I have a thousand ways to make you never see the children.” Joshua stared at Christy coldly.
There was no joke in what he said.
Christy’s heart skipped a beat.
The Melendez family was behind Joshua. Their power was unfathomable. However, Christy was just a helpless and weak woman. How could she fight against the Melendez family?
The two children were clingy to Christy and couldn’t live without her, so Joshua had no choice but to allow her to stay with the children.
If Joshua was determined to drive Christy away, she might never be able to see the children.
“I brought up the children. They only want to stay with me. No matter how you separate us, they will hate you if they can’t see me, let alone recognize you as their father. If you want the children to think you are a good father, you’d better not do stupid things again.” Christy said in a trembling voice, suppressing her fear.
Her face was flushed from being kissed wildly by Joshua, but it turned pale all of a sudden. Even her hands were cold. Christy had to pretend to be tough. Otherwise, Joshua would push forward and threaten her with more exorbitant demands.
Joshua stared at Christy.
Christy was trembling with fear. However, she still threatened Joshua. Her combat power broadened his outlook.
Christy’s sweetness lingered in Joshua’s mouth, which made him fascinated.
“No one can threaten me.” Joshua said viciously and released an evil smile.
“Since you know the children will be pitiful without their mom, you’d better stay by my side. Whether the children have a mother or who will be their mother is determined by me. Do you think it is necessary for me to care about their feelings?
“As long as you listen to me, I promise the children will be by your side and have a happy and complete family. Patience is not one of my virtues. I advise you not to do stupid things.”
Christy was surprised to find Joseph’s words meaningful.
“Why do you care about me? Is it just to create a complete family for the children? You only need to act in front of the children. There is no need to treat me like this.” Christy forced a smile.
“Stop using the children as an excuse. Mr. Melendez, have you fallen in love with me?”
“Yes, I like you. Can’t you feel it?” Joshua said angrily.
“What’s the use of liking me? Can you give me a promise? As a man from a wealthy family, dare you to marry me? Even if you agree, the Melendez family will disagree.” Christy said contemptuously.
“Why don’t I dare? If you agree, I will marry you,” Joshua blurted out without hesitation.
“Please don’t make such a joke. I will take it seriously,” Christy said with a straight face.
Marriage was a major event in life, but Joshua talked about it like a joke. Christy thought he didn’t know love and marriage and that it was just his way of bullying her.
When Joshua said marry, Christy thought it was somewhat ironic.
However, her heart thumped wildly.
It was the first time a man told her he wanted to marry her.
Unexpectedly, it happened that way.
Christy felt indescribably uncomfortable as if something sacred had been ruined.
Joshua fixed his arrogant and aggressive eyes on Christy, making her flustered and blushing.
Christy dared not to look at Joshua again. That would make her more upset.
“Christy, do you think I am joking? Are you listening to me attentively?” Joshua was annoyed by Christy.
He wondered why Christy was as stubborn as a rock. It was hard to convince her.
“Have you finished talking nonsense? I’m going back to the company.” With that, Christy turned around and left. She wanted to escape from Joshua’s sight.
Chapter 63
For some reason, Christy felt uncomfortable when Joshua stared at her.
Joshua held her back and said coldly. “You can take my car.”
“If I go back with you, everyone will see us.” Christy shook Joshua’s hand off angrily and said, “No need. I can drive back by myself.
“Well, whatever you want.” Joshua let Christy go.
Christy’s hand was soft. Joshua felt peaceful when he held it.
Letting go of her, Joshua felt inexplicably lost because the warmth was no longer in his hand.
Joshua didn’t mind everyone seeing them.
Did Joshua have to hide that he liked Christy? Whoever dared to compete with him or say something about them, he would make that one disappear forever.
Joshua wondered why he cared about Christy’s feelings.
Seeing Christy going away, Joshua became gloomier.
Christy irritated Joshua by turning him down again.
She could drive back by herself. Did she have a car? Who the car belonged to? It was Joshua.
Joshua offered Christy a high–paying job, a luxury car, and a mansion worth tens of millions of dollars. Other women dreamed of that. Christy had that at her fingertips, but she was unsatisfied.
Joshua didn’t know what Christy was thinking.
Another man only treated Christy to dinner. She talked and laughed with him. As soon as Christy saw Joshua, she turned cold. She felt repelled when he was nice to her as if he was insulting her with money.
How could there be such an unreasonable woman?
However, Joshua was attracted by the unreasonable woman unknowingly.
Joshua felt restless as if thousands of ants were crawling on him and biting him. He was uncomfortable all over.
If Joshua couldn’t marry Christy, he would be under her shadow for the rest of his life.
How could Joshua allow that to happen?
Would the stubborn woman do anything extraordinary to challenge Joshua?
Joshua frowned and picked up his phone to call Rocky.
Christy walked out of the restaurant.
Christy breathed a sigh of relief when she was finally out of sight of Joshua.
Why she felt uncomfortable staying with Joshua for just fifteen minutes?
Christy’s mouth was numb, and she couldn’t speak smoothly.
It was all because of Joshua.
He kissed her so hard that her mouth was even swollen.
