Chapter 95
"Reya." Out of nowhere, Kieran's voice pierced through the silence, finding its way to Freya's ears.
Snapping back to reality, Freya saw Kieran's gaze fixed on her, a playful smirk coloring his tone. "Reya, come here."
...
Ronan stood rooted to the spot, his eyebrow arching slightly at the sight of Freya dressed in a maid's attire. It dawned on Freya then. Kieran had deliberately invited Ronan over to humiliate her in public. "Why don't you take a seat, Mr. Beckett?" Kieran's eyes shifted towards Freya, his voice commanding, "Reya, get Mr. Beckett a chair."
Freya didn't move.
Kieran pressed on. "Hurry up, will you? Don't keep our guest waiting."
Following his instruction, Freya walked over to Ronan and pulled out a chair for him. "Mr. Beckett, please have a seat," she said, keeping her tone even.
Ronan played along and took the offered seat graciously.
Mr. Patterson's eyes landed on Freya, remarking, "Ah, this must be Ms. Dawson, right? I've met Ms. Dawson before, truly a beauty unparalleled."
Freya offered a slight smile from the sidelines, choosing to remain silent.
"Regardless of whose precious daughter she might be, she's nothing but a servant to the Sutton family here."
Kieran's words, directed at Ronan across the table, were cutting, "Reya, pour Mr. Beckett and Mr. Patterson a drink."
Freya frowned slightly. Kieran's knack for belittling others knew no bounds, clearly aiming to degrade her this time.
"As you wish, Mr. Sutton." Freya's face was a mask of composure.
She poured a drink for Mr. Patterson, then moved beside Ronan to serve him.
"Come here." At Kieran's command, Freya went to his side once again.
He tapped his glass lightly. Catching the hint, Freya promptly refilled his glass with wine.
What an overt declaration of dominance it was. How could Ronan possibly miss it?
Seeing so, Mr. Patterson couldn't
help but remark, "Mr. Sutton, you truly live up to your name, having
ever Ms. Dawson at your bea?
and
call to serve you!"
The smile on Mr. Patterson's face grew wider.
Freya remained silent.
She swore inwardly, 'Let them laugh. Their time to weep would come.'
At that moment, Freya approached Mr. Patterson, saying, "Mr. Patterson, you're such a renowned figure in the industry. Back at home, I often heard of your great deeds."

Leaning closer to Mr. Patterson in a gesture of intimacy, she placed a piece of fish onto his plate, her smile gentle, "This is specially prepared by Mr. Sutton, symbolizing Mr.
and
Patterson's leap to success prosperity for years to come."
"Excellent! Excellent!" Mr. Patterson was thoroughly charmed by Freya's gesture.
Seeing Freya effortlessly charm their business partner, Kieran couldn't help but sneer. Indeed, she would stop at nothing for the sake of gain.
