The Blood Rose Lady

Chapter Chapter Fifty-Two

"Here we are at your precious home, honey."

Romaine smiled as Dorrien muttered those words. She then leaned to him and removed her helmet. They both kiss by the "Zadzisai' Residence" sign.

In a blink of an eye, she heard a noise inside the house. Romaine parted her lips and went straight to the door. She searched her bag for the key but couldn't find it.

"Open the door, Rozelyn! Cyrill!" She pounded at the door several times.

But none of them responded.

"Let me," Dorrien offered.

He banged and pushed the door, forcing it open. Dorrien saw a rock and broke the nearest window and climbed inside. He opened the door on the inside and Romaine was rushing to go and enter the house. Her potion worked. But it resulted in a more macabre situation. Cyrill was at the edge of the stair and his knee was broken.

She tried to shout. They tried to shout. But Dorrien and Romaine were so astonished that they could not even yield a step forward.

She watched Cyrill sprinted to the top of the stairs and heard Rozelyn's muffled scream and cry. Dorrien was about to follow but she halted him. "No. Let them be."

His face was unbelievable.. "You're gonna get them killed!"

"Rozelyn is a Thaumaturge vampire and Cyrill is a Pasiphae werewolf. They both will live to whatever quarrel was between them." Dorrien managed to let go from her grip. "That's exactly the point. They are both immortal creatures and that's gonna get them killed." A heartbeat later, the two can no longer hear a noise and muffled screams.

"I'll check on them."

Dorrien averting his gaze was his only answer. When she reached the end of the stairs, she persuaded Dorrien to follow. "Come." He just rolled his eyes and was forced to walk towards her.

"Look at them," Romaine spoke softly.

Rozelyn and Cyrill were on the wall now, kissing.

Dorrien climbed the stairs first, then Romaine. They reached the top of the stairs quietly and they looked at each other.

They then return their gaze to the two who were passionately kissing for more than a minute now.

"Ehem!" Dorrien cleared his throat.

The two halted and immediately moved away from each other as they realized who stood before them.

"Romaine, Dorrien," Rozelyn muttered in a raspy voice.

"Hi dear," Dorrien replied with a smirk.

"We-were just "

"Making out?" Romaine then smirked.

"No," Cyril answered.

"Aren't you?" Dorrien countered.

"Well we are "

"We saw it, dearest. No need to be shy," Romaine painted a saccharine smile to which Dorrien frowned.

Rozelyn and Cyrill then held each other's body again and kissed.

"Let them be, "Dorrien stated.

So, Romaine and Dorrien walked away from the scene as silent as they could.

"They have chemistry, you know..." Dorrien muttered as he took a sip at his mocktail drink.

"They have. But, they are family, Dorrien. If they cross that line, both of them will lose a member of their family," Romaine replied as she took a bite from the egg tart she bought at the nearby bakeshop. Dorrien looked at the backyard swimming pool. "But they can build a family anyway. You know if they have se—"

"I know!" Romaine cut him off. Dorrien just gave her a playful smile and wink.

"Then do you approve of them? Being a grandmother of the child of a Thaumaturge vampire and a Pasiphae werewolf sounds cool."

"And stressful. Besides, no Amalgam has existed for millennia in the history of Vampire and Werewolf."

"There's always a first time, Romaine." Dorrien said as his eyes still fixed on the rippling waters of the pool.

Romaine glared at him. "What do you mean by that? That I will just let them fuck each other and bore a child of either species? No freaking way!"

It was Dorrien's turn to glare at her. Their eyes met.

Suddenly, he laughed. "I am just joking, Romaine. Why so serious anyway?"

Dorrien giggled again that made Romaine smile even in a bland manner.

"They both are family, Dorrien. It's best to keep them that way; let them remain that way..." She said as she finished her margarita cocktail and plunged into the pool. Dorrien just watched her swim. He knew she was just afraid she feared that Rozelyn's and Cyrill's child might be like that of a God. Invincible. Indomitable. Indestructible. The Blood Witches already cower when they smell Rozelyn. How much more a child born from her flesh, mixed with a werewolf's blood?

Dorrien just smiled at that thought. Truly, everyone has their own weakness. And he just found out what those goddamn Blood Witches' weakness is-and Romaine's fear as well.

"What do you think they thought of us? Me and you, kissing in a Fifty shades of Gray style..."

Cyrill just cackled at her. "You really compared our kiss to that sexually-suggestive book, huh?" She smiled. "So you did read it?"

"Only the first book. I can't stomach the rest of the trilogy."

Rozelyn laughed at that. He is, after all, not immune to erotic literature.

"So..." Rozelyn spoke. "What do you think of the kiss?"

"Horrible."

She nudged at him playfully. "No, it's not. It's..."

"It's what?"

"Unexpected."

It was Cyrill's turn to laugh. "Unexpected? More like an unexpected anticipation."

They both giggled as their arms were still looped at one another.

Cyrill glared at her. "No. No, I do not."

"Why?"

"Because..." He looked at her entwined hand above his. "We are a family already. And if I will be your lover...you'll lose a family that had been beside you since you were seven."

She nodded in discernment. "You have a point, too. Besides, it's just a kiss. Think of it as a neutralizer to a wild elephant; a calming move."

"A calming move?" Cyrill held her shoulders to face him. "You call our kiss a calming move?"

Her smile was still intact on her half-Irish, half-African face. "Yes. Because it did not just calm me, it also calmed you as well." She eyed him for a moment before resuming, "And we even had a second round of that 'calming move' anyway..." Cyrill's cheeks blushed. "You really have a way with words, Rozelyn."

"And you really have a way with your lips and tongue, Cyrill."

They smiled at each other, as did their eyes.

"You said you have werewolf blood as well."

"I did," Rozelyn slid her hand to his back.

"From whom?"

"From my mom, from Visenna. Her dormant werewolf blood."

Cyrill didn't expect Rozelyn's mother to have werewolf blood, no matter how dormant.

Rozelyn hoisted her pinkie towards Cyrill. "Promise me we'll forever be a family."

Cyrill, as if in a reflex action, brushed his lips to hers first before raising his little finger.

"I promise."

"Together, until the end of time?" Her pinkie tightened around him.

"Together, even if the worlds collide."

Cyrill had indeed found an everlasting family. And it was in the eyes and lips of Rozelyn Nadeshiko Byrnes Zadzisai.
