The Bird and The Dragon

Chapter Old Aunt Yellow

Old Aunt Yellow had a friendly voice, hair of sun-yellow flowers, eyes that saw the good in children, and a warm hug available for everyone. Every Watergate inhabitant before the end of the world knew Aunt Yellow, who entertained children with her stories of friendship, taught them not to be jealous of others’ genetic augmentations, gave information on the proper installation of respirators, and reminded them of the importance of the work done in the planet. Everyone loved this childhood figure.

The stories of old Aunt Yellow are still told and even gathered into booklets for children. Her song is still sung at bedtime to prevent bad dreams. Old Aunt Yellow has become a protector for children and her yellow flower can be found in almost every child’s bedroom.

This old is called for when one is distressed, scared, or just feeling blue, both in human relations and work. Old Aunt Yellow is also known to send gifts to children, yellow candies, and other sweets. They are sold from the upper shelves of the bakeries where kids won’t see them. Parents leave them to be found on bedside tables or pockets.
