The Billionaire's Bite

Chapter 9

ANNA MADRIGAL POV:

The sun is setting at these times, it is nice to observe the orange sun and clear sky.

I'm here now in the bedroom past drunk in the afternoon, I'm sitting on the bed now because I just finished cleaning the whole house. I've been watching the sun before, because before, I often watched it from my wooden window at my grandfather's house.

In less than a day of my stay here in Manila, I immediately missed Lola Cita. My ears want to hear her cold and gentle words, her advices and her soft hands.

I took a deep breath and turned to the picture on the table. This is the only memory left of my father and mother before they disappeared.

Our life was simple and hard then but we were all content with what we had in 'min. Tatay Felix was just a tricycle driver while Nanay Pia was just at home with me, nothing more than the love they felt for me even though the truth is that they are not the real parents.

I was in elementary school when I found out everything, I was surprised at first. Who doesn't? Nothing has changed in the way the three of us look but I feel ashamed at the same time because I feel like I've become a burden to tay felix and nay pia.

They explained to me all the details, so that I could understand, they did not hide from me even one. So I am very thankful to god because I have a family like them.

I FLASHBACK I

It rained hard that night, the wind was cold and there was thunder in the sky. Felix first warmed up the engine of his tricycle and looked at their small home, his wife Pia was already inside and resting.

A few seconds later, he left to go to the parking lot of his fellow tricycle driver to earn money. The movement of his vehicle was moderate as his gaze struck the bakery on the side. He first thought of buying for his wife so he quickly parked his car at the bakery.

There were three people buying at the bakery so he did nothing but line up here as well. There was nothing that blinded him to his side. His gaze narrowed and focused on the sidewalk not far from the gild, there was a white car parked here, this part was dark because of the broken streetlight.

A few seconds later someone got out of the car, he thought he was carrying a piece of cloth in his arm, the appearance and gender of that person were not clear because of the darkness that enveloped the area and was accompanied by pouring of heavy rain.

He was suddenly disgusted by the walk-he wasn't mistaken in his suspicion that the man was a man, but Felix still couldn't tell what he looked like because of the man's hat and jacket.

It went to the darker part where the old sidewalk was, the more intrigued Felix was at that stage. Curiosity engulfed his whole body, there was a part of his brain that would ignore only what he saw. He did not know where the tension that was going through him now came from.

It was as if cold water had been poured on him when he saw the man return without the piece of cloth on his arm. Felix did not know what the matter was, but many questions suddenly troubled his mind. She could no longer bear the thought that the man would get back in the car and leave, her decision to go there suddenly.

"Sir, what about you?" He stopped as he left when he was suddenly asked by a woman from the bakery. Disgusted, he turned around and looked around in shock to see that he was the only remaining customer standing in front of the bakery. It hurriedly pulled out the money and approached it.

"Four in ensaymada" he said. The woman quickly put it on, she was still not comfortable with what she saw. Why did I even watch that incident? Inside him.

"This is it," said the woman, she quickly took it and handed over the payment.

His gaze was again focused on the car's behavior, but he almost dropped his jaw when he saw that it was no longer on the old sidewalk, perhaps leaving his attention diverted to the bakery.

He also stared at it for a few seconds, there was a part of his brain that told him to just ignore it, but his curiosity was stronger. He knew that the thing that had been in the man's arm earlier was just in that part.

It was as if his feet had a life of their own as he crossed the road, cold sweat forming on his forehead as he continued to step towards the sidewalk.

He could not bear the raindrops that fell on him. There are many sacks and bags of garbage around it, there is also a lot of wood stored here. He no longer used the light of his cell phone to illuminate the surroundings, just enough of the little light coming from the opposite side.

Take a look at the front. He was just shaken and his face was wiped with the palm of his hand without any trace of white cloth around.

He was about to leave when a baby's cry suddenly rang out in the trash - it was crying as a baby, he hurriedly shoved the cell phone out of his pocket. He didn't know if his mind was just playing with him but he was sure from the stamp he heard, he no doubt dropped the sacks and garbage bags just to get to the center where the baby's crying was coming from, he removed the sack around.

His heart was broken to see a baby girl wrapped in white cloth, it was sobbing in tears perhaps having difficulty breathing because of the heels previously resting on it.

Felix was immediately moved at that moment. He did not know how he felt at that time, because he was not unaware that his wife was sick in the mattress so they could not have a child in almost ten years of their marriage, so the baby in front of him seemed to fall from the sky. now because he had long wished to give them offspring.

He immediately took it and laid it on his arm, he also removed the garbage attached to it. A few more seconds the baby settled into crying, a wide smile registering on Felix's face as he watched the baby's gentle face; misty its skin, round eyes, piercing nose and rosy lips.

Estimating it was less than a year old, she turned her gaze to the baby's hand as she waved it. It has a black bracelet worn on it and is marked Anna Madrigal, perhaps this is her name.

"Don't worry Anna." He punched alone. "You're safe now."

I END OF FLASHBACK I

I sighed before returning my body to the table. Maybe the world didn't open well for me, but I'm still grateful because I'm alive. I longed to find the truth if parents, but when I learned of that incident my disgust for them gradually lived. I always asked my mother pia and tay felix why the name and surname they followed was the mark on the bracelet I was wearing then. They had a strong suspicion that my real name was the same it was actually named after my parents. They say they love me as much as their own child but they can't claim what is not real to them.

I am still so grateful to the world for the family I was given-even though they weren't real parents, they gave me everything I needed until their last breath on earth. I think sometimes, why aren't they just pia and tay felix who are true if they are parents rather than the real ones if they are parents who just made the child strong but can't take the responsibility as a parent?

I was shaken to my feet and left the room, I went in front of the refrigerator. to get some cold water, I poured it into the glass and gulped it down. I automatically smiled as I turned my gaze to the balcony, I was locked in the room for almost a few hours after the embarrassing thing I had done there on the balcony.

At the same time as my return to the pitcher was the opening of the front door, I was no longer surprised because I knew it was Thea.

"How's that bestie!" Thes said. It's decent office attire, you won't see a trace of weariness on its face because it's smiling broadly.
