Chapter 971
Chapter 971
“All set.”
It’s important to keep up appearances. She chose a piece of jewelry, not exactly top-tier but still of high quality.
Leila was somewhat satisfied with Brittany’s reply. “Since you’re prepared, show me in advance...” She paused, her tone
purposefully demeaning. “Being new around here, you surely couldn’t have prepared anything too valuable. Just don’t embarrass
the Lynette family.”
Brittany couldn’t stand the backhanded comment; the chill in her gaze sharp. “If that’s the case, I might as well take back my
prepared gift. Please arrange for something more substantial. We wouldn’t want to bring any embarrassment to the Lynette
family”
With that, Brittany headed upstairs.
Leila stood there, fuming. “I should’ve known. What good could come from someone like Juliana?”
She couldn’t fathom what Yuri saw in Juliana to pine for her all these years!
Saskia, with a twinkle in her eye, found an excuse to retreat to her room.
Just then, she received a call from the private investigator. “Ms. Saskia, I’ve checked. Juliana did receive a large sum of money
before she left Craneville, roughly nine figures.”
“Who from?”
“Leila.”
“Are you certain?”
“Yes. Juliana and Mr. Lynette were an item, and Leila knew. She conspired with the Lynette family to imprison Mr. Lynette, and
her marriage was orchestrated by herself.”
“And Juliana’s death...”
“Leila had contacted the Russell family in the past.”
Was Yuri blind? Juliana was pregnant back then and yet agreed to marry Robert Dustin. Clearly, something was off. Maybe Leila
had been targeting Juliana for over thirty years.
“I heard Brittany did a paternity test with Robert, and the results were tampered with. Look into it.”
After hanging up, Saskia stepped into the shower, lost in the steam.
The Lynette estate was bustling the following morning.
Saskia was up at four, her morning a whirlwind of makeup, hair, and dress fittings.
Brittany, staying on the third floor, was awakened by the noise. She quickly freshened up and went downstairs./
The entire Lynette family was in full swing, clearly placing great importance on this union.
Yuri saw her come down and called her over. “They’ll come to pick up the bride later. Come eat now.”
Brittany pulled out a chair and sat down, sipping warm milk, uncharacteristically docile.
Yuri was fond of Brittany, especially reminded of Juliana when looking at her profile.
Noticing Yuri’s gaze, Brittany remained silent, finishing her breakfast quietly.
The Lynette family had prepared a gown for her, a lilac-colored dress, simple yet tasteful.
Brittany changed into the gown, and the makeup artist arrived.
Seated before the vanity, she received a light makeup application, her hair swept back and secured with an elegant hairpin,
revealing her graceful neckline.
At ten in the morning, Daniel and Isaac arrived at the Lynette Mansion.
Ten minutes later, a volley of celebratory cannon fire rang out, instantly suffusing the mansion with a festive air. A procession of
wedding cars lined up outside the gate.
The groom stepped out, holding a fresh bouquet, followed by a lively entourage of groomsmen heading straight for Saskia’s
room.
Saskia’s bridesmaids were already in position. Upon hearing the cannon fire, they promptly blocked the bedroom door.
Saskia, clad in a gold-embroidered gown, looked dignified and gentle, like a princess straight out of a fairy tale.
Given the groom’s status, the bridesmaids didn’t dare to get too rowdy. After a brief tease, they let him into the bedroom.
The groom approached Saskia with a smile. “Let’s go, Saskia.”
She extended her hand, taking the bouquet. “Is that all you have to say?”
