The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 961

Chapter 961
When Yuri noticed their arrival, he stood up with a welcoming grin. “Hey, Bri.”
He had cleared a spot right next to him.
Brittany and Isaac took their seats.
“Mr. Lynette, this must be Brittany?”
The Brandt family had heard a lot about Brittany, though they rarely crossed paths.
Brittany was Yuri’s chosen heiress, and the Brandts had once considered tying their families together through marriage.
Unfortunately for them, Brittany was already married. Word on the street was she even had a kid attending primary school.
Brittany greeted everyone with a friendly nod and smile.
Mrs. Brandt had met Brittany before and was quite taken with her, even more so than with Saskia. Without making a scene, Mrs.
Brandt’s soft gaze made it clear who she favored. It was a level of affection Saskia could never secure, no matter how hard she
tried.
Saskia wanted to ignore it, but Mrs. Brandt’s preference was too obvious. She bit her lip in frustration, careful not to make a
sound and provoke Mrs. Brandt.
Dinner went smoothly, with the Brandts showing they meant business. The wedding gift they offered was a nine-figure sum-an
exceptionally rare gesture in Craneville.
Throughout the evening, Brittany remained quiet, with Isaac by her side, attending to her every need with great care.
Mrs. Brandt, unfamiliar with Imperial City and oblivious to Isaac’s status, mistook him a freeloader riding on Brittany’s coattails
and couldn’t help but disdain him.
While Mrs. Brandt had no objections to the marriage itself, she was concerned that Leila might get the boot from the Lynette
family. During dinner, she subtly brought up the topic
Yuri was visibly annoyed.

“We’re not divorced,” Leila interjected quickly. “And we won’t be. I’ve watched Saskia grow up; she’s my daughter. If you can’t
take good care of my girl, the Lynettes won’t let it slide!” Leila was fiercely protective, but to Mrs. Brandt, she was like a paper
tiger-seemingly fierce but easily torn apart.
“That would be for the best,” Mrs. Brandt replied coolly.
Saskia sat still, her face a mask of discomfort.
Midway through the evening, Brittany excused herself to the restroom.
Saskia followed her, bitterness in her voice. “Brittany, the Brandts adore you, and so does Dad. You must be so pleased with
yourself.”
It seemed the night’s events had pushed Saskia to drop her facade, revealing her true feelings.
Brittany found Saskia to be a classic case of insecurity. She hadn’t said more than two words to Mrs. Brandt, and yet she
targeted her
“Saskia, I don’t recall offending you.”
“Offend me?” Saskia scoffed. “You’ve been gone for thirty years, living your life. Why come. back now?”
If Brittany hadn’t returned, the Lynette legacy would have eventually fallen to Saskia and her brother. In that case, it’s unlikely
she would have chosen her current boyfriend.
Brittany was speechless.
“The Lynette family reached out to me,” Brittany finally said, washing her hands. “Your issues have nothing to do with me.”
Brittany brushed past Saskia, who punched the countertop in fury, her knuckles turning red. Biting down hard on her teeth, she
wished she could destroy Brittany.
Back at the private dining room, Mrs. Brandt leaned in curiously. “Brittany, what does your husband do?”
Brittany paused for a moment. Grandeur Capital was involved in many sectors-finance, entertainment, and appliances, covering
half of Country A.

“Finance,” she replied simply. The firm’s main focus was finance, with real estate yet to explored.
Mrs. Brandt didn’t press further, but she seemed to pity Brittany. Such a capable woma with a husband who was nothing but a
pretty face-it seemed like a waste.
Reading Mrs. Brandt’s expression, Brittany wanted to set the record straight, but before she could, Gabriel Brandt interjected.
“Mom, it’s getting late. Let’s head home.”
After bidding farewell to Brittany, the Brandts left, with the marriage agreement nearly settled.
However, Leila lingered, turning to discuss the matter of the dowry with Yuri.
Yuri was never stingy with money and quickly drafted a generous gift list.
Leila scanned the list-a mix of villas, penthouses, shops, and cash totaling three hundred million. It was substantial, but paled in
comparison to Yuri’s gift to Brittany.
“Yuri, don’t you think this is a bit... modest?” Lejla asked, her voice tinged with envy.
