The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 942

Chapter 942
Isaac’s response left Brittany feeling unsatisfied, but she didn’t dwell on it.
“Let’s have dinner.”
After a hearty meal, Isaac escorted Brittany back to her room. After some sweet nothings, it was well into the night.
Isaac received a call from Nathan. “Mr. Salter, Manuel did show up in Craneville, but he’s been off the grid for a while.”
“Keep looking.” Isaac whispered, getting up from the bed and tucking Brittany in carefully before leaving the master bedroom.
“Don’t let him get away.”
“Understood.”
Ending the call, Isaac pushed open his study door.
After talking to Yuri, the man hadn’t made things easy for him. Expanding Grandeur Capital’s branches under its banner wasn’t
difficult, but Yuri’s meddling meant Isaac had to divert his attention to clean up the messes Yuri stirred up.
Yuri hadn’t played hardball, but dealing with the fallout was time-consuming.
Isaac was busy until past three in the morning before he shut his laptop and returned to the bedroom.
Brittany was sleeping soundly. Her focus these days had been on the Lynette family, cherishing her relationship with Yuri so
much that she had opened up her heart to him quickly.
In such a short time, the tensions between her and Yuri had fully dissipated.
An unprecedented fatherly affection softened her initial sharpness, adding a touch of tenderness.
Isaac slid under the covers, pulled her into his arms, kissed the top of her head, and fell asleep.
Perhaps the previous night’s conversation had an impact; the following day, Isaac accompanied Brittany back to the Lynette
family estate.
Yuri’s expression briefly registered surprise upon seeing Isaac. However, facing Brittany’s eager eyes, he held his tongue.

While Brittany headed to the kitchen, Yuri’s face turned cold. “Have you forgotten what you promised me?”
“I just don’t want Bri to overthink things.” Isaac nonchalantly made coffee, handed Yuri a cup, and leaned in. “She’s smarter than
we think. I don’t want her to know about those things.”
Yuri scoffed, “You dare to do but not to acknowledge?”
Isaac met him eye to eye. “She has already forgiven me, but that doesn’t mean she can face those things.”
Yuri paused, and after a while, he relaxed. “Just keep your mouth shut.”
Brittany, still skeptical, came out of the kitchen, fearing she’d see them at odds.
To her surprise, they were engrossed in a Go game, an intense battle of wits.
Brittany looked them over and realized she had been worried for nothing.
Yuri was a master, and Isaac was no less skilled. Brittany, having spent her early years playing it with Donna, was also quite the
player. She knew the virtue of silence in observing a game and rarely spoke.
After three games, Isaac lost two, and Yuri, winning the match, couldn’t hide his smugness.
Brittany praised Yuri while playfully squeezing saac’s hand. “Zakky, you’re pretty great, too.”
Isaac was letting Yuri win on purpose. He held her hand, a flash of heat in his eyes.
Yuri frowned at the sight, but reminding himself that Brittany was his daughter, he chose to ignore it. Taking a sip of his coffee, he
found it too strong and bitter!
Leila rarely saw Brittany, and Yuri enjoyed the quiet.
But tonight was different; shaking off her usual listlessness, Leila got dressed up, came downstairs, and sat next to Yuri.
“Saskia, your birthday is coming up soon. Have you thought about how you want to celebrate?” Leila asked.
Saskia put down her fork, bashfully hesitant. “Mom, I haven’t really decided yet.”
“Saskia, I’ve heard you’ve been quite close with the Princess lately. She has a cousin. Have you met him?”
