The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 929

Chapter 929
The children’s park was buzzing with excitement.
Ivy stepped into the park, and the person in charge was busy giving a rundown of all the fun activities to the group of reporters
snapping photos left and right.
As the face of royal charity, Ivy carried herself with grace, a gentle smile playing on her lips.
Her presence was like a whirlwind, catching the eyes of many.
“Isn’t that the little princess?”
“Yes, that’s Princess Ivy. She’s the darling of the palace, always in the spotlight. Looks like she’s here for the Fun Park this time.”
“The royal family’s funded the construction of this place. They’re sure to make a big deal out of it.”
“Princess Ivy’s twenty-seven, isn’t she? I heard she’s betrothed to the Hartmans. Perhaps -wedding bells are in the air?”
“Don’t get me started. The Hartman heir had that scandalous affair with the Ulbricht girl, all lovey-dovey. Then when the Ulbrichts
went belly up, he dropped her like a hot potato.”
A knowing bystander shook their head. “These high-society marriages are all about interests, not true love.”
The murmurs grew louder and even reached Ivy’s ears. She felt a twinge of annoyance but kept her composure.
The camera caught only joyful scenes throughout the park.
Suddenly, into the frame dashed a little boy, the epitome of cherubic charm, basketball in hand, nailing a perfect three-pointer!
Dressed in understated yet limited-edition gear it was clear to any discerning eye that the boy was a sports prodigy.
With every shot he took, his pale face, glistening with sweat, exuded the vigor of youth.
Ivy, adhering to the day’s agenda, was to mingle with the kids, and her gaze naturally landed on the boy.
She slipped into a sporty outfit and approached him. “Hey there, champ. Can I join you for a game?”
Daniel had been playing all afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see Ivy. “Can I ask my mom first?”

His mom had always said to be wary of strangers.
Ivy nodded. “Of course.”
Daniel tapped his smartwatch, calling Brittany, “Mommy, a pretty lady wants to play with me, is that okay?”
“You can, but just for half an hour. Dad and I have a dinner reservation. I’ll come get you soon.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Daniel offered the basketball to Ivy. “Let’s play.”
Ivy had a natural affinity for kids, which is why she was chosen to be the charity’s princess.
“I’d love to,” Ivy said, taking the ball.
She was surprisingly athletic, and Daniel held his own.
They enjoyed a fun game until Daniel almost tripped, but Ivy caught him just in time.
The photographers continued to snap away.
Meanwhile, Brittany made her way to the park and spotted Daniel still playing with the ball.
“Daniel, it’s time to head home.”
After sinking his last shot, Daniel looked apologetically at Ivy. “I gotta go. It’s getting late,”
Ivy, having had a great time, agreed. “Can I have your contact so we can play again sometime?”
Daniel hesitated but gave her his number. He wiped his face with a tissue from his backpack, bowed to Ivy, and hurried off.
Ivy rose to her feet and watched Daniel rush into the arms of a young woman who kn down to wipe his face.
Daniel basked in the attention, his eyes closed, a lazy smile gracing his face.
As Brittany wiped his sweat away and lifted him into her arms, she looked up to see Ivy standing not too far off.
Ivy recognized her with a hint of surprise. With a wave, Ivy dismissed her entourage.
