Chapter 905
Chapter 905
After spending a fortnight in Craneville, Brittany had caught up with all her friends.
Since Ophelia called off her engagement with the Lynette family, Vincent had been relentless. He repeatedly apologized and
professed his love for her.
Ophelia turned a deaf ear to his apologies and confronted him about the other woman’s pregnancy. “And what about the child
she’s carrying?”
Vincent hesitated. “The child is innocent. Once the baby is born, I’ll have her leave Craneville. She won’t disrupt our life.”
Ophelia’s jaw dropped at his shamelessness. “So, let me get this straight, you expect me to play stepmother before I even marry
you?”
“No, I can have someone else raise the child,” Vincent stammered in panic.
Ophelia gave his cheek a patronizing pat. “Vincent, you two are so wrapped up in your love affair, why drag me into it? Just be
happy together and leave me out of it.”
Vincent, having learned his lesson from several rejections, stopped pestering Ophelia.
Brittany discussed with Isaac and decided to stay another week before leaving Craneville. Brittany missed Daniel terribly. They
would video chat every day, and as time went by, Daniel’s smile faded, and he even began to look unhappy.
“Honey, I will be back next week, just be a good boy at home.”
Daniel pouted, “Then you have to sleep with me when you get back.”
“Of course.”
“I want a whole week’s worth of cupcakes!”
“Alright.”
Isaac was left speechless.
“And you have to take me to the amusement park, tell me stories, and pick me up from school...”
“Daniel Salter,” Isaac took the tablet and placed his other hand on Brittany’s. “Don’t push your luck.”
Daniel sensed a chill in the air. “Hi Daddy, bye Daddy.”
The call ended on the other side.
Isaac threw down the tablet and glanced at Brittany with a hint of jealousy. “Have you ever thought about me while you agreed to
spend every day sleeping with him, telling him stories?”
Brittany’s lips twitched. He was in his thirties, yet he was jealous like a child?
Isaac seemed to read her thoughts and suddenly bit her lip, pinning her down on the couch.
“Am I old?”
“I didn’t...” Brittany’s eyes widened.
Could this man read minds?
A cold gleam flashed in Isaac’s eyes as he vowed to show Brittany just how ‘grown-up’ he really was!
After a playful afternoon, Brittany was exhausted. She finally got some rest when a call came in.
“Hello Ms. Dustin, this is Holden Lynette.”
Brittany paused.
Later that afternoon, around five o’clock, at a café near Bay Community, Holden sat by the window, a cup of coffee gone cold in
front of him.
After what seemed like an eternity, a black car pulled up, and the passenger door opened.
A young man in a light shirt got out, looking dashing and distinguished. He walked over to the other side of the car, opened the
door, and helped a young woman out.
She wore a silk blouse paired with a mermaid skirt, accentuating her perfect figure and adding a mature allure.
The couple walked hand in hand into the café.
The moment Brittany entered, she spotted Holden. “Mr. Lynette.”
Holden stood up. “Ms. Dustin.”
Brittany, holding Isaac’s hand, sat down. “This is my husband, Isaac.”
After the introductions, Holden presented a bank card. “Ms. Dustin, I apologize for the accident with your car, and I’m grateful
you saved my grandmother. Thank you.”
Brittany had no intention of accepting money. Mr. Lynette, it was nothing.”
“Ms. Dustin, please be assured, should you need anything in the future, do not hesitate to contact me.”
Brittany shook her head, indicating it wasn’t necessary.
