The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 903

Chapter 903
“Do you know him?” Isaac asked, noticing Brittany’s silence and assuming the stranger was an acquaintance.
Brittany shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
Following the contact details on the business card, she added Holden on her phone.
He accepted the request promptly and messaged her first.
[Sorry about the mix-up. Should we set a time to talk this over, or do you prefer to go through insurance?]
[Let’s handle it through insurance.]
Brittany remembered Ysabel’s advice to keep her distance from the Lynette family, a family with deep pockets and a lot of clout.
Holden sent an [OK] in response.
With their car out of commission, they opted for a cab ride home.
Back at Bay Community, Brittany indulged in a hot shower and was applying body lotion when Isaac pushed the door open. He
casually leaned against the door frame, his deep eyes roving over her.
Feeling suddenly bashful, Brittany protested. “Get out.”
She was stark naked.
Isaac’s gaze was unsettlingly bold.
“Not leaving,” he said, leaning in closer.
He’d seen her like this before; why should he go?
He kicked the bathroom door closed, cutting off her escape route, and reached out to draw her into his arms.
The large mirror reflected their tangled, intimate shadows. Isaac seemed determined to make up for lost time, giving Brittany all
the attention he’d been holding back.
The air was humid and filled with the scent of jasmine.

A night of wild abandon ensued.
When Brittany woke again, she felt sore and limp.
Isaac was still holding her close in a possessive embrace,
Her lower back ached, and she reflexively pressed against his chest.
“Awake?” he murmured, barely out of slumber, and kissed her hand. “Stay with me a bit longer.”
The night’s exertions had worn him out too.
After the stresses of recent times, being able to relax had made him a bit more languid.
Brittany knew Grace’s passing had hit Isaac hard. She pursed her lips and remained still.
With her eyes closed, inhaling Isaac’s familiar scent, she soon drifted back to sleep.
It wasn’t until past two in the afternoon that hunger woke her.
Isaac was already up, sitting in bed holding her in one arm and handling business on his tablet with the other.
After some rest, her fatigue had somewhat dissipated, but a dull ache lingered in her back.
Setting aside the tablet, Isaac scooped her up and placed a cushion behind her back, “Hungry?”
Brittany nodded; her stomach was growling.
Isaac kissed her lips softly and got out of bed.
“Just wait.”
Brittany grabbed her phone and saw a message from Ysabel.
[Ophelia called off the engagement. The Lynettes paid her off.]
[Apparently, that woman was Vincent’s old flame. They’ve been on and off and now sh embarrassed him thoroughly. Vincent’s
reputation is ruined.]

For prestigious families, reputation is everything.
Vincent’s pre-wedding scandal and offending the Joyner family meant any future alliances would be at a disadvantage.
Brittany hadn’t expected Ophelia to choose such a loser.
As she pondered a reply, Isaac came in with a tray of food.
“Let’s eat.”
Isaac fed Brittany bites of food until she was full and content. Shortly after, she received a call from the insurance company to
arrange a meeting about the car.
Isaac wanted to accompany her, but an urgent meeting at Grandeur Capital kept him at home.
The insurance company was generous, compensating her at the highest rate.
After discussing with the insurance agent, evening had already descended by the time Brittany drove back to Bay Community.
Along the way, she noticed a crowd gathered at an intersection, buzzing with conversation. As she waited at the traffic light, she
caught a glimpse of an elderly woman lying on the ground amid the crowd.
