The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart ( Brittany Dustin )

Chapter 937

Chapter 937

Brittany sighed, feeling a tad helpless. The bond between grandparents and grandchildren was epitomized in Yuri’s doting affection.

At the thought of the illustrious Yuri, known for his prowess in the boardroom, now playing the role of a domesticated granddad, lvy shivered at the mere idea.

“Ms. Dustin, care to join us for a bit?”

“No, thank you. I’m meeting some friends,” Brittany declined before they parted ways.

Ivy, elated with acquiring Brittany’s contact information, returned to their private booth where Saskia had just ended a phone call.

“Princess, I’ve got to run,” Saskia announced. Her mother Leila had overindulged in drinks at home, and Saskia needed to hurry back.

“Sure, see you next time,” Ivy replied.

Exiting the booth, Saskia rolled her eyes. Leila was always dramatic, insisting on Saskia’s company, as if she were some sort of miracle cure. Saskia found it tiresome, always being the go-to person for everything.

In a huff, Saskia nearly bumped into Brittany, who had just come out of the restroom.

Saskia immediately followed after her.

Brittany was meeting with Ysabel when some regular patrons interrupted them. Saskia recognized one of them immediately – Mrs. Hartman, Dominic’s mother.

Mrs. Hartman hailed from a long line of politicians, with her son and husband both prominent figures in the political arena. She herself was a frequent guest at state dinners, a veritable First Lady of Craneville!

Saskia, not of Lynette blood, could never secure a good marriage match despite her favored status.

Dominic was her ideal match, but the royal family had their eye on him. She envied Ivy, born into privilege, even her marriage prospects a cut above the rest. Yet, Saskia felt compelled to follow in Ivy’s footsteps, hoping to gain more attention and a favorable marriage as a result.

Brittany, an illegitimate daughter, had married Isaac and stood to inherit all of Yuri’s wealth, a fact that Saskia despised.

Now, with the news of Isaac’s close ties to Ivy, Saskia saw an opportunity.

If she could ruin Brittany’s marriage, wouldn’t Brittany become a laughingstock? Perhaps even her father might reconsider.

Chapter 937

With her mind made up, Saskia slipped away.

Back at the Lynettes’, Leila was still sobbing in bed, her eyes red and swollen.

Saskia had little patience for those who wallowed in love woes, yet here was Leila, the ultimate romantic!

Putting aside her disdain, Saskia feigned concern. “Mom, are you alright?”

Through tears, Leila lamented, “Saskia, your father has gone too far…”

Leila clung to Saskia’s hand, pouring out her grievances against Yuri.

Saskia listened, her patience wearing thin, yet consoled her, “Mom, don’t be upset. Dad’s just lost his way, making up for lost time with his newfound daughter. Just give him some more time.”

A daughter who had married so well was surely Yuri’s pride.

Leila, feeling wronged, blurted out, “Why didn’t that wretched girl die? If only I had known…” Cutting herself off, realizing she shouldn’t speak such words, Leila continued to berate Yuri’s offenses.

Saskia sensed something amiss but dared not probe, deciding to discreetly investigate

further.

After three long hours of consoling a tearful Leila, Saskia’s throat was hoarse. Finally calming her down, Saskia left her mother’s room.

Fresh from a shower, Saskia was startled to find Holden standing in her room.

“Brother, what brings you here?” she gasped.

Holden held out a document. “I’ve invested in a mutual fund for you. Consider it your birthday present for this year.”

At the mention of a gift, Saskia perked up, “Thanks.”

Holden could tell Saskia was troubled lately.

“A lot has happened at home recently; don’t overthink it,” he paused, “even without the Lynette name, I won’t let you be wronged.”

Saskia’s grip on the papers tightened. “Holden, are you really okay with giving up years of hard work to Brittany?”
