“Ugh, you’re no fun!” Jenny whined 

*You didn’t expect me to be, did you?” Carla said, quickly thinking of a comeback. Liam shook his head and smiled. He watched her, thinking she was smart to be able to think of a sharp, savage replies to whatever insults her friend was hauling at her. Carla rolled her eyes, at him this and gestured for him to keep his mouth shut. He laughed at that and motioned her to go on with the conversation she was having with her friend. 

* Shut up Carla, must you always have a reply ready and waiting to every of my words?? Jenny sounded frustrated. 

*So spit out whatever you want to tell me!‘ Carla fired back, not backing off one bit. 

*Calm down your ass, will you?” Jenny laughed. 

Carla sighed audibly” There I have, so get with the damn thing” 

“Bitch Jenny muttered but there was no malice to her word. 

“Just get on with it already, I’m busy” Carla said, getting tired of her friend’s endless chatter already. 

From her peripheral vision, she saw Liam smirked and she frowned, wondering why on earth he did that. Oh! He thought she told her friend she was busy because she was eager to pick up where they left off just before Jenny’s call came in. 

“What?” She whispered to him and he shook his head, gave her the hand sign to carry on with her conversation. 

*Just shut up for a minute Carla!” Jenny shouted. 

Okay ma’am Carla teased. 

Jenny coughed slightlySo… He asked me out on a date” 

Carla rolled her eyes Heard that already, so I asked who?” 

“Ugh you’re mean! Jenny whined and continued Alex. He asked me out ” 

Carla’s eyes widened “Alex” The same Alex I know?!” She was really surprised 

*Of course dummy, the Alex we both know Jenny answered. 

“Wow girl! I must say, I’m surprised. How did you manage to get him to go on a date with you?!” Carla gushed out. 

*Idiot, the right question is, how did he manage to convince me to go on a date with him?” Jenny said sharply and Carla could feel her sharp glare from where she was. 

“Okay how?” Carla asked, not ready to rephrase her question 

“Well, he came to my restaurant today and boom, it just happened “Jenny said. 

Carla rolled her eyes I already knew what you wanted to say wouldn’t make sense 

“Shut your trap Jenny laughed. 

“Anyways, just thought of informing you. Do you have any idea what would be the perfect outfit to wear? She added. 

“I have no idea dummy, can I hang up now?” Carla asked. 

*Oh Carla, you wound me! Jenny whined. 

*That was my intention, now bye. I wish you good luck on your date “Carla said and hung up. 

Liam laughed heartily “I like your friendship, how long have you guys been best friends?” He asked curiously. 

She looked lost in thought for a moment “Hmm… Forever I guess, I can’t really remember 

“Wow” He said, looking impressed. 

“Yeah” She agreed. 

“So were you about to tell me something before your friend called?” He asked, bringing the subject back to the initial matter. 

She looked thoughtful but tiam knew it was all a pretence Hmmm yeah” 

*So?” Liam probed when she didn’t say anything after that. 

“So I said I was not really feeling good for the past few days…. “She started. 

Liam interrupted her ” Yeah, heard that part ” 

She eyed him but ignored his remark “It got bad this morning so I went to the hospital…” 

Again, he cut her off but this time, he was annoyed “Hospital?! You were at a hospital today but you’re just telling me?? Ben… Where is he?? I told him to keep me posted on 

*Come on Liam, it’s no big deal and I’m fine. Ben has nothing to do with this, he was just following my order that’s all. Do not hold him accountable for something I caused Carla explained gently but she could see Liam was still mad at her because he gritted his teeth and didn’t say a word. 

“Say something” She coaxed softly and placed her hands on his 

“You were sick and even went to the hospital today but I knew nothing about it, so what do you expect me to say? You just proved I have no right to interfere in your private life, isn’t it?” He didn’t look at her as he said this. 

She pouted “Come on Liam, I’m sorry and as you can see, I’m fine so let’s not start an argument please” 

Liam stared deeply into her wide, innocent eyes and realized he couldn’t stay mad at her for long, not even if he wanted to. 

He sighed “What am I going to do with you, Bella? He asked rhetorically as he didn’t want an answer but Carla replied him anyway. 

She smiled seductively “How ‘bout one round?” And she winked. 

Liam feigned innocence and he raised his eyebrows quizzically “Of?” 

“Sex” She replied without mincing words. She reached out and tug his tie, earning a groan of anticipation from him. 

His breathing came in rapid motions now “You want that? “He didn’t wait for an answer as he removed her hand from his tie and started to loosen it 

himself 

Carla laughed and pushed his hands away “Heck no husband, we can’t do that here! What if someone comes in? I was just kidding when I said that ” 

“This is my company Bella, I can do whatever I want He defended himself. 

*So breaking one or two rules wouldn’t hurt, would it?” He added with a wolfish grin. 

“I know it’s your company but still, no. It doesn’t comply with the working etiquette “Carla insisted. 

Liam groaned “Stop torturing me wife, or I might just ignore your protest and bend you over that that and fu…” 

“Oh Liam shut up! Carla exclaimed, laughing. 

Liam grunted “So you were saying something before you distracted me, little witch “He teased.
