Chapter One - Hundred Thirty - Three: Vampires
One - Hundred Thirty - Three: Vampires
Tarlek
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?" I asked Chris.
He and Rye had told me that they had hit the bar after the meeting with Draydon, Nigel, and Dimitri. I knew it had been a bad meeting if they had to hit the bar after. When they had told me they ran into Blain, Alan, and an unknown third vamp I really didn't think anything of it. I knew Blain and Chris got along fine. I also knew Blain and Rye wanted to kill each other. Alan was fine and everyone liked him. I have no idea about the third one. When Chris told me that he had been talking to Blain about things I was mildly concerned.
“He wants to help. He knows the ring and how it operates because of his uncle.” Chris tells me.
“That is beside the point. Remember last time Blain, your sisters, Bryn, and Brandon got together?” I ask him.
Yeah, that made him cringe. By now the rest of the guys had wandered in due to us yelling. They all sat down to see what the issue was. I knew Chris remembered the last time.
“What happened the last time?” Ashton asked.
“Lots of alcohol, an epic game of poker, and several new tattoos and we ended up with an island,” I explained.
“You own a private island? Why have we not vacationed there yet?” Jason asks.
I explained that we are not sure who actually owns the island since there were five people involved and all had contributed money. Brighton, Marcus, Seth, Nate, and Zane seemed interested in the poker part of the story.
“Who is Blain, Alan, and this other guy?” Dustin asks.
“They are vampires. They are from a very old coven and have been friends with us for many millennia now.” Chris explained.
I could see that Rye was conflicted with this whole idea. I would have to ask him what the issue was later. I know for a fact that he hates Blain. I could see that many of the guys were very unsure about this. I know they like Dimitri well enough and that they have finally accepted Deklan. However, Blain and his bunch are on a very different level. His coven is one of the oldest.
“Does he have a thing for one of the girls?” Kaleb asked.
“No, well long ago I think he had a brief thing for Alexis. That was until she told him to fuck off and fell off a cliff.” I tell him.
I knew where he was going with his question. He was wondering if Blain was after Kylani. That entire thought made me laugh. Blain had no chance in hell with Kylani.
"Wait she fell off a cliff?” Jason asked.
“I caught her,” Haze says.
Was Chris really entertaining the thought of working with him? I had no problem with the guy. Shit, I had gotten drunk with him many, many, many times. It was just dangerous to get him and the girls together. For the next hour, we talked about the possibility of them coming here and working with us. In the end, Dustin told Chris to set up a meeting. I knew the girls were gonna want to be there. This was gonna be either a good idea or something weird was gonna happen.
Blain
It had been a few years since I had seen Chris. I saw his sisters more often. He however did not know this. Not since the last time we had gotten together for our poker night. Yeah still not sure what the fuck happened that night. I woke up with my first four tattoos, a raging hangover, and partial ownership of an island. I really need to visit that island sometime. Tarlek, Donte, and Chris had found us passed out on the island. None of them were too happy. I knew that he went to that bar somewhat regularly. It was good to see him. Rye I could do without seeing, ever. Yeah, we hate each other. Been that way forever. What I was not expecting was my third, Royce, to be his mate. I knew they were both trying to act like nothing was wrong, but I could tell. When Chris called me up and told me all the shit that had happened in the last 2 - 3 years I was pissed. Had I known Asmoday and Vepar had been behind all this I would have gotten rid of them years ago. Hindsight is 20/20 and here we are now. The three of us are meeting Chris and this pack on the island. I have no doubt Dimitri will be there. It will be good to see Dimitri there.
“Good evening everyone,” I tell them as we walk in.
I hear a squeal of excitement. I know those squeals. I soon have an arm full of goddesses. I give both Mykenzie and Kylani hugs as well as Bryn. At least someone is happy to see me. Rye however is giving me the glare of death. I look around and shit there are several wolves, a few bears, dragons, werecats, and some humans. Now that's interesting. That's when I hear a growl.
“Don’t worry we won't be feeding on anyone here,” I tell them.
I can tell these two are very protective of everyone here and well I am on their good side and intend to stay that way. Chris greets me and then introduces everyone. I can tell the Alpha is hesitant. We got down to business. The more I heard the more pissed I got. I never did like Asmoday. I knew a few demons and they were ok. After a while, the girls left. Apparently, the kids needed them more than they needed to be here. I still find it strange that they have kids. Shit even Chris is gonna be a dad soon. I don't know Nymyra, but I know her coven. Her coven and mine have always been on good terms.
“Not trying to offend, but Dominick died right?” I heard Alan ask.
“Yes,” Dimitri says.
He then explained everything. Apparently, this is not the first time Kaleb has been mistaken for him. He fits Kylani well and from what I have been told can actually calm her down.
“If you want our help, we will help your pack,” I tell them.
“While it is true that vampires and wolves don't get along. We have been friends with the triplets for millennia. In fact, there are several covens that have aligned with the triplets and would help in a heartbeat.” I tell them.
Then Chris decided to talk about a plan that Draydon and Nigel came up with. He explained it first and also a backup plan. I could tell by the growls that the one plan was not well received. I don’t blame them. That plan sounded like they wanted the world to implode.
“Let us think about working with you. I'll have Chris get a hold of you in a few days.” Dustin told me.
I gave him a nod and told him I will be waiting. For some reason, I had a good feeling about this pack. The fact that they have protected the girls as they have was a big part of it.
