The Alpha's Rejected Mate

Chapter 6

Kaiden and I sat on his motorbike, heading to my parents' house. I couldn't wait, I was going to see them, finally! It’s not until your mum is gone that you realise how much you miss her. I was practically jumping on the seat of the motorbike as Kaiden pulled down a gravel road.

When we reached my brothers' pack house I jumped off the bike before Kaiden parked it and ran towards the front door.

I knocked on the door about fifty times before it finally opened up by a groggy looking Alex.

His eyes widened in shock when he took notice of me standing there in a black leather jacket and skinny jeans with my purple vans.

“Is that--It cant be.” He stuttered, his eyes still looking shocked. “Letti?” He asked, his voice sounded unsure.

My heart melted at his nickname for me and I pounced on him, hugging him to me with a fierce possessiveness. He squeezed me back just as tightly.

“Mum! Dad! Guess whos home!” He bellowed as he let go of me.

Several seconds later Radiance and Noah Maxwell were running down the stairs fixing their shirts up, not looking that they’d aged a day over thirty. Eww, I did NOT want to know what they were doing thirty seconds ago.

Like Alex’s. their eyes widened as they took me in.

“Hey, mum. Dad.” I waved.

“Scarlett!” They ran up to me and embraced me in a huge bear hug, squeezing me much like how Alex had been before.

Mum was the first one to pull away. She took my face in her hands and looked me over, checking for any injuries. When she lifted up my shirt and saw the bandage wrapped around my waist where the two claw marks running down my hips were, she gasped. Dad’s growl followed soon after as he took notice of the bandage.

“When I find out who did this to you, they’re dead,” Alex growled from beside me as he carefully ran his hands along the bandages.

“It’s not that big of a deal,” I told them with a small smile. I had missed them so much.

“What are you talking about! My baby girl has been hurt.” Mum said with astonishment.

“Mum, it’s okay. I’m alright. I’m just glad to see you again.” I smiled at them, my eyes shining with happiness.

“Oh baby, we're happy to see you too.” She said as she embraced me once again.

As she let me go dad pulls me into his arms again. “You have gotten so beautiful, Scarlett. I mean, you were already so beautiful, but now you’re radiant. Just like your mother.” He smiled down at me and my eyes filled with tears.

“I love you, daddy,” I whispered, putting my head on his chest.

“I love you too, sweetie.” He murmured placing a kiss on my forehead.

A short cough brought me out of my thoughts and drew my attention to the person who coughed.

Kaiden stood at the door with a smile on his face. I’d almost forgotten that he was there.

I smiled at him and motioned for him to come inside with a wave of my hand.

“Who’s this handsome boy?” Mum asked with a smile.

A quiet growl filled the room as dad looked at my mum with raised eyebrows. “Don't worry, hun. You’re all there’ll ever be for me.” She smiled up at him and placed a light kiss on his cheeks.

“I better be the only one considering how good I please you.” He teased her as she whacked him on the arm.

Alex and I both gagged as we listened to our parents. “Geez, dad. Not something I needed to know.” I said gagging again.

He rolled his eyes and ruffled my hair. I whacked his arms away.

“Anyway, back to my question,” Mum said raising her eyebrows at Kaiden.

“Oh right,” I said. “Mum, dad and Alex, this is my boyfriend, Kaiden. Kaiden? My parents and brother Alex.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell.”

“Please, call me Radiance. And you can call this hunk of a man, Noah.” She said smiling at Kaiden.

“Thank-you, Radiance.” He replied, smiling kindly at my mother.

“Hi, I’m Alex.” My brother piped up as he held his hand out to shake.

“Kaiden.” My boyfriend replied as he shakes Alex’s hand.

“If you ever, and I mean ever, hurt my sister, I will beat your ass.” Alex said in a stern voice. “She’s already been hurt before and ran away because of it. I dont need that to happen again.”

“I wouldnt dream of hurting, Scar. I love her.” Kaiden reassured my brother and my heart started beating wildly in my chest at his words.

Kaiden looked over at me and I mouthed an ‘I love you, too’ to him.

He smiled before looking away.

“Who’s up for some morning tea?” My mum asked suddenly.

“But, love, I want some dessert.” Dad joked from next to her.

I laughed as mum raised her hand to whack him across the head.

“Come on, let’s just go get some food. I’m hungry.” I told them, walking towards the kitchen.

“You’re always hungry, you little piggy.” Kaiden teased as he walked over to me and wrapped an arm around my waist.

“Yeah, but you love me anyways.” I told him placing soft peck on his lips as we walked off.

“Unfortunately.” He joked, but he was smiling.
