The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate

Chapter 39 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate

Her face was ashen. She was holding the mask in her hands, kneeling on the edge of the bed.

I didn't like Boyd staring at her naked body, so I took the sheet off the bed and wrapped it around her. He just continued to stare at her, waiting for an answer. "It's okay, Chloe. It was your last show anyway, right? So what if they saw your face?"

"Shut up, you prick," Boyd snarled at me. "You don't know shit."

I pushed out of bed, ready to face off with the over-reaching fucker, but Chloe grabbed my hand and held me back. Boyd squared his shoulders as I pushed the little aura I had as a wolfless Alpha out to subdue his bullshit attempt at intimidating me. He took a step back, but still looked pissed. Not nearly as pissed as I felt at his sudden appearance and tantrum. I was about to tell him to fuck off, but then Chloe spoke up.

"Can Cindy do something to delete the entire video? Can he make it where it never existed?"

"He's going to have to now, isn't he?" Boyd scoffed, shaking his head with his rage. "I can't believe you did that to yourself, Chloe. And for him?!" Boyd lifted an arm and pointed his hand at me.

"Don't talk to her like that," I growled.

"Oh, shut up, Mickey. Your job is over, so run along home while someone else cleans up your mess like we always do, number one."

That stung. I know girls cause a lot of problems stalking me to this place, but that's why I try to do business outside of Broom StiXXX. I don't bring the girls I film with to the room behind the club like the others do. I either have studios rented or do location shoots. Still, many find a way to figure out where I live and come here, which is why I have lived alone on the top floor. It's safer for everyone.

"Stop, Boyd," Chloe gripped my hand tighter. "It was my idea to do this. Not his. Quit being a dick. Thanks for stopping the broadcast, but I'll figure out how to fix this myself."

"Fix what?!" I stressed, sitting beside her and taking her face in my hands to force her to look at me and not the damned mask. "So they saw your face? So what? We can delete the video from your page and problem solved."

She smiled sadly. "It's not that simple, Mick." She placed a hand over one of mine. "My face is out there now. If he has anyone scanning the internet for my face, he will find the video."

"Who-" I started to ask, but then it hit me. "Oh." Her fucking ex. How demented could the man be for Chloe to be this worried about her face being seen? I knew he was an abusive asshole, but it takes a true psychopath to put fear into someone like Chloe, who was always ready to fight anybody at a moment's notice if they wronged her in any way.

I thought she was hiding her face for other reasons. She said the mask made her feel free. I guess there was more to that freedom than just exploring her sexuality. I feel like an idiot for not piecing it together.

"Yeah, oh," Boyd said in a mocking tone. "Now that you got it, kindly fuck off."

"Boyd!" Chloe snapped, "You are the one who needs to fuck off right now." "ME?! Why not him?!"

"Because he is my mate," she hissed, no longer dazed or looking scared. She's pissed. I can feel her fury in the bond and her protectiveness of me.

Boyd's eyes went wide in surprise, looking from her neck at the fresh mark where the old one once was, and then at mine. I purposefully angled my head to give him the best view, trying not to look smug in the process.

He let out a low growl, then turned and stomped out of the room. Moments later, we heard the front door slam.

Miles POV

"WAKE UP!" Ivar snarled ferociously, waking me from a dead sleep. "Wake up, you dimwit! I felt him!"

"Who?" I asked groggily, turning over on my large bed, not wanting to open my eyes just yet.

I recently took over the pack, something I was supposed to do with my brother, but it's been years and he hasn't come back, or even made a phone call back home. Without him, the work has been taxing to do on my own. I pass out exhausted every night and get as much sleep as I can before waking up early to do it all over again. I haven't fared well since he left, losing my rock and my support when he left in the middle of the night years ago. Dad had been particularly hard on him that day, degrading him openly when he couldn't make Dez, our, or should I say my Beta, submit to him during training.

The mocking was intense on my dad's part, and when we all read the note Mick left the next morning, I knew it was dad that took it the hardest. His guilt was so great that he began to wither away. It made him weak, and the council of elders decided two months ago that it was time dad stepped down and I took my place, even without my brother by my side.

I started to drift back to sleep, thinking of Mick as my heart filled with sadness, when I felt a throbbing pain suddenly burn against my neck.

"What the fuck?" I sat up, placing my hand over my throat, expecting to feel blood, but there was nothing. No wounds or marks, and nothing to explain the throbbing sting still pulsing in my muscles.

"I told you, I felt him," Ivar growled.

"Who? Who the hell are you talking about?!"

"Brother! Mick! I felt him. I feel his link."

"You can't feel his link. He doesn't have one. He doesn't have a wolf."

I could feel Ivar's exasperation. "Try to feel it too! It's there now. I'm telling you!"

I did as my wolf said, reaching out like I did hundreds of times before, trying to find some connection to my brother after he ran away. I didn't expect anything this time either, but as I pushed my subconscious, I felt something. It was a flickering of a line that wasn't there before. It didn't feel complete, but I felt it, and the harder I pulled on it, the more I felt that familiar aura that I recognized at Mick's.

Closing my eyes tightly, I used all my force to try to connect the line, trying to fully mind link him for the first time ever, but instead of reaching him, I came to see a pair of brilliant blue wolf eyes surrounded by a black fury face. There was a smaller wolf, a mix of brown and taupe colors on a fluffier, rounder body, pressing against the large black wolf. Both of them were watching me, but there was no sound. It was like the communication line wasn't complete. "Beautiful," Ivar purred, catching a glimpse of the smaller wolf.

As quickly as they appeared, they fell back to their own consciousness again, and I was left wondering who they were and why they had a similar essence as my long lost brother.
