Chapter 150
Chapter 150
Tom arrived at the restaurant earlier than expected due to insomnia. He spent the night thinking about the news about Charlotte.
Their conversation last night did not reveal anything about the pregnancy, so he wondered what Charlotte planned to do with it.
She was a woman he loved but could not control. Charlotte was very clusive, and he could not bring himself to trust her again.
After drinking four glasses of wine, he began to wonder if Charlotte stood him up and sent her another text message.
I’ve been here for two hours now. His nerves relaxed upon receiving the prompt response.
We agreed on ten. It’s not my fault that you got there so early.”
Tom did not respond, acknowledging his fault, and waited after receiving the confirmation that she would be there.
At the exact time, Charlotte arrived with Goliath, making Tom uncomfortable. Luckily, Goliath did not approach Tom’s table but made himself comfortable at another table as Charlotte approached Tom’s table.
“Good morning.”
“How are you? Please sit,” Tom said to her, pouring her a glass of water. Charlotte took a deep breath, dropped her handbag on the table, and sat in
front of him.
Tom’s formality with her was so strange that it made everything awkward.
“I’m sorry for everything that happened between us.” Charlotte sipped the water and apologized afterward.
She was indeed repentant but had no idea how Tom would take it. It had not been long since they broke up, but they already seemed like strangers.
However, their past remained a blend of sweet and bitter memories. Tom was desperate for confirmation of the pregnancy.
“I heard from Alpha Nick that you are pregnant. Is the child mine?” He asked directly, embarrassing Charlotte with the question.
“I’m two months pregnant, so whose child do you think it is?” She asked rhetorically, annoyed that Nick asked such a question.
Was it so bad that he would think another man fathered her child when he knew very well how much Alpha Nick loathed her?
“You slept with him before, so I have every right to ask.” Tom pointed at Goliath, unapologetic with his choice of words.
A bitter smile lined the corner of Charlotte’s lips, but she also affirmed that she deserved whatever treatment Tom gave her.
He rejected his mate for her, but she was never able to do the same for him. Even after everything that happened, he was ready to take her back, but bent on revenge, she refused.
Tom had proven his love for her, but she constantly put others before him, taking his love for granted.
With a child on the way, it was better to make the necessary adjustments to give the child the best they could offer.
“That was a long time ago, and even with all the time I spent at his pack, there has been nothing of that sort.”
“I want to believe you, Charlotte,” Tom said honestly, knowing how promiscuous she could be.
His words hurt Charlotte’s heart, especially when evil no longer had a place in her heart. “The choice is yours. I won’t force you.”
Tom placed his hand on hers and asked seriously. “Do you want to be with me? I mean, I’m starting over, and Alpha Nick just released my connections. I don’t have much.”
Charlotte released a breath she did not know she was holding.
Thinking that Tom was going to reject her and the pregnancy, he was giving her a chance, except that he did not have much and could not give her a comfortable life like they had before.
“We are having a child together, and as soon as I give birth, I can pick up some jobs to support you,” Charlotte said seriously, stunning Tom. He never expected to hear responsible words from her.
“Are you serious? Goliath is richer than me at the moment,” he pointed out. Charlotte did not blame him for thinking she had something going on with Goliath.

“None of that matters. Let’s work hard and make something for our unborn child.”
Tom still could not believe it. If he knew something like this was going to happen, he would have stayed to witness the process. But for now, it was as if somebody else had possessed Charlotte’s body.
“Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?” He asked seriously, Charlotte forced a smile, taking it as a compliment.
“No. I learned my lessons, and I want to be a better person. After all, there is nothing good in being a bad person.”
Moved. Tom squeezed her hand but not too hard to cause her pain. “I really want to believe that you have really changed.”
“I know it’s hard, but I understand. Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I only thought about you. I don’t want our child to grow up without a father and mother.”
Tom pursed his lips at her words and suddenly revealed. “But there is a big problem, Charlotte.”
“What is it?” Charlotte asked, worried because of the expression on Tom’s face.
“A woman helped me when I left the magic pack. If not for her, I would not have survived, and I made promises to her. My only reason for coming to the pack was to see Alpha Nick.”
Charlotte’s expression dulled. How could she think that Tom would wait for her after the way she broke things off with him?
“If I understand you correctly, then it means that you moved on.”
“I’m sorry, yes,” Tom replied, remorse evident on his face. Charlotte thought for a while and forced a smile.
“It’s alright. We can co–parent if you want, but if it would be trouble, then I would stay at the magic pack and raise the child there. You don’t have to be in his or her life.”
Perhaps, it was time for her to accept the membership of the magic pack, which would deter her from coming out to see anyone again.
Tom was surprised by her words, asking seriously.
“Are you sure about this? That you won’t cause problems for us after you give birth to the child? That you won’t go back to who you used to be?”
