Chapter 6| A Foul Smell And An Even Fouler Mouth
The tiny lupine tried to run away, but I held her in place by grabbing her hood.
'Who wears a black hoodie at a Choosing Ceremony?'
I couldn't help but wonder if she found it pointless too.
"What the hell, dude? Let me go!" She yelled. I winced. Why was she being so loud? I ignored her thrashing and used the mindlink to ask my Beta why he was holding a female without her permission. He wasn't someone to do something like that without a reason.
'Alpha, I'm extremely sorry for the foul smell. This lupine...has done something to herself. She will be removed immediately,' he said through the mindlink and started to walk towards her. What smell was he talking about? I couldn't smell anything but her lure scent, and even that was faint.
I got the answer as soon as I took a look at the thoughts of my Gamma and Beta. She had applied something to herself that was letting out a foul odor. I now understood why Ryke reacted the way he did.
What I couldn't understand was, 'Why can't I smell anything bad?'
I shook my head as Ryke went to remove the female from my grasp. He stepped back, mumbling apologies.
I looked at her in amusement as she tried to get my hand off her hoodie, all the while spewing curses that I had never heard someone speak before me. I didn't know about the foul smell, but she certainly had a foul mouth.
I could see that she was not very strong. She obviously trained hard if her physique was anything to go by, but her strength seemed to be equal to that of an omega, maybe even less.
But then why was she not submitting? Even some full-blooded Alpha Lycans bowed before my presence, but why was this female, a lupine and maybe an Omega at that, fighting me? Logically speaking, she shouldn't even be able to stand straight.
I never expressed my feelings, but a scowl crept onto my face when I saw that she was not going to stop trying to run away anytime soon. She shouldn't be able to withstand my presence.
There was something off about the way she was behaving, and it made me curious.
I took a closer look at her. Gorgeous dark brown hair, golden at the tips fell to her slender neck. Tanned skin that didn't have a single flaw complemented her piercing golden eyes that were shaped more feline than wolf.
A small nose that made one want to pinch it was set right above her little cherry red lips. She was beautiful and adorable, a looked that made a person want to tease her and he was no exception.
Unfortunately, there were more important things at hand.
I was shaken from my thoughts as a fist came my way, and I caught it before she could punch me.
"You are an Omega," I stated. It was not a question. After seeing her physical capabilities, I was a hundred percent sure she was an Omega. But I wanted her to confirm it.
"Yeah, what about it?" she asked, looking bored. I could hear Ryke and Darren sucking in their breaths. Daniel openly gasped.
Judging by their reaction, I guessed they didn't even suspect her as an Omega. Then again, even I wouldn't have suspected it if she wasn't very weak.
"How are you withstanding my presence? It is impossible."
"Oh, well, it's not. If that's all, can I go now?"
I gave her an icy glare.
"Do you know who you are speaking to? Just because my presence doesn't affect you does not mean you can stand against me in a fight. Answer my questions with respect, or you will face the consequences." She stilled at that.
"Of course, Alpha."
I almost groaned out loud in frustration at the disrespect in her voice. It didn't look like she was going to respect me anytime soon, but she was at least addressing me with something akin to my proper title now.
I stared at her, expecting her to continue. But she merely looked at me, the bored expression never leaving her face. Normally in a predicament like this, I would simply tie them up to a chair and have my second-in-command squeeze out the information for me.
Here, I couldn't do that because she was an Omega. It would sully my reputation if news spread that I was bullying an Omega of all people.
"Tell me, how are you withstanding my presence?" I asked, my patience at its end.
"Say please, and I might answer," she replied, obvious sarcasm in her voice.
