Chapter 1: Blackwoods!
The town of Blackwoods, nestled deep in a crater in the mountains of British Columbia. Flanked by the Mirrored Cities to the east and west. Two identical cities, The Left City sat at the entrance, The Right City at the exit to the crater. It was a decent size for a town with a population just under 3500. What really drew him to it was the forest that surrounded it for the most part, except where a lake crept in on the south end. The cities butted right up against the woods, but never converging on them. The town apparently owned the forest and refused to sell any of it to either city; they had to find other ways of expanding. With one main road in and one main road out and direct access to the Trans Canada Highway, the town sat nestled in the very middle of these woods, a hidden gem. At least that’s what the tourist magazines had called it and having two cities on either side benefited the town greatly, year round tourism. But that could also be because of Sweet Talk Bakery the tourist magazines all boasted about. Called it the true treasure in the hidden gem, where the only thing more tantalizing than the treats it sold, was the delicious baker herself. From what he understood people flocked from all over to the town to try the baked goods. He wondered if they sampled the baker as well. If she really was tantalizing and delicious he might want a bite. Dirty dog! Odin grumbled in his head. So shoot me! I’ve been good! That’s only because I threatened to eat the last one! Yeah, that was a dick move! I want our mate Adonis, not some strange! And what happens when I get pent up frustration Odin! Then let’s kill things and stop fucking around! There’s no talking to you! Because I’m right and you’re a fucking idiot! I have other urges besides the one to kill Odin! Fucking learn to control them Adonis! Learn to control your homicidal ones and I’ll learn to control my sexual ones! Odin huffed in his head, but had no comeback to win the argument.
Three years, three years and he still hadn’t found his tiny dancer. He searched all of Ontario and Quebec again looking for her, but when he found out Ottawa was hosting a National Baking Competition he realized he needed to broaden his search. It also explained why he smelled baked goods that day. A year passed and he started to lose his vision of her. He could no longer picture her face, her smile, the colour of her lips, or the shape of her ears. He could only remember that there was something special about them. Two years and he lost sight of the way her body moved when she danced. After three years all he could remember was the tattoo on the back of her neck and her scent, lavender and green apples. He skipped going home for the last three years, no matter how many times his bastard father requested it. ‘Adonis it’s been a while, you should come for a visit.’ Things to take care of in Manitoba. ‘Adonis, when are you coming for a visit?’ I’m in Alberta. ‘Adonis, you should really come home.’ Busy in the mountains. They weren’t lies per say, more extensions of the truth, he was searching for her across Canada and he was in B.C. He decided this was where he would move his pack, they were waiting for his word. B.C. was his last stop, if he didn’t find her there then he would force himself to settle down. His pack was getting restless and he needed a territory. The mountains were home, they always felt like home to him, which stands to reason he would make them his home. You’re just lying to yourself! Odin laughed in his head. So what if I am, what’s it to you? Nothing, but your old man is starting to lose patience! The fuck do I care what he loses? Better his patience than his fucking head. I know which I’d prefer him to lose! I see you’re in a good mood today! Knowing what Odin was going on about, he silently cursed in his head. What was I going to say, Odin? Found my mate then I fucking lost her! Tell me how that would go over! It wouldn’t! And since when was anything I did his fucking business? It’s not! And when did I start answering to him? You don’t! Exactly, I would rather put a whole fucking country in between us. He stays on his side with his idiot sons and I’ll happily stay on mine!
Adonis was standing outside a diner with his Gamma Elijah, who was trying to talk to him about some pack they were supposed to be visiting with. He held no interest in it and carried on his own conversation with his wolf.
“The Alpha of the Ridgeview Pack has set up an appointment for you” he was saying, pulling Adonis from his thoughts.
“What appointment?” Adonis snapped, he was probably already told this, but deeming it unimportant promptly forgot. As far as he was concerned if it didn’t involve his mate it wasn’t important.
“At Sweet Talk Bakery” Elijah answered,
“What? Why? Why can’t we just meet him at the packhouse?” This was making him mad. Fucking stupid waste of time!
“He wants you to meet his daughter” Elijah replied,
“Fuck! Of course he does, cause I have nothing better to do than meet some bitch at a bakery and do what? Buy bread?” He grumbled,
“Cake tasting actually!” Elijah corrected,
“What?” Adonis looked at him. His brow furrowed and his jaw set, he couldn’t be serious. He did not get set up on a fucking date with this girl.
“It’s set up for two pm” Elijah didn’t repeat what they were to be doing, that would be suicide. Judging by the displeased look on his Alpha’s face he heard just fine.
“What’s the bitches name?” Adonis asked,
“Kiara, but maybe give her a chance she might be nice” Elijah said with a half shrug,
“Kiara! sounds like a bitch to me” Adonis huffed,
“Maybe, but let’s not call her that to her face” Elijah suggested a frown furrowing his brow. Adonis just snorted, he already hated her and he hasn’t even met her yet. She’s not our mate! Odin huffed in his head. Maybe you can eat her? Bitches don’t taste good and give me heartburn, and that would cause a war! No we couldn’t have that, think of all the things we’d get to kill! You’re in a really good mood today! Shut up!

Kenzi Templeton was a small little thing, standing at only 4’10, but she had the biggest personality. Always smiling, dancing, and always on the go. She was the baker for Sweet Talk Bakery, a business she built from the ground up. That was a secret only her and a few other people knew. She opened the bakery three years ago after she came in fourth at a National Baking Competition and won $50,000. She bought the building on the advice of Maggie’s husband Patrick a year after she opened. It would stop the Mayor from being able to continue to raise the rent on her all the time. She wasn’t in good standing with the Mayor and he seemed hell bent on trying to make life difficult for her. Granted she also pushed his son in the lake on his Inauguration Day, because he wouldn’t stop calling her Orphan Annie and that was eleven years ago. Joke ended up being on him though, she turned a huge profit the first year she was opened, and she was written up several times in tourist magazines, bringing more and more people to the town every year. If the bakery ever closed, the tourists would leave and the town would suffer. She enjoyed baking, creating delicious treats, inventing new ones, it made her happy. She likes to cook as well, even though she has been told by a few people, she shouldn’t and she’s not very good at it. She refused to quit, saying she can always get better as long as she keeps trying, and she wants to get better, so she keeps trying.
Was she an orphan? Yes, her parents died in a car accident when she was one, she had a sister named Teagan who was five years older than her. It saddened her to know that she was the cause of her parents death. If she hadn’t been sick that day they never would have been on the road trying to get her to the doctor and the accident wouldn’t have happened. Teagan has told her the story many many times, she even once told her that she should have died in the accident. She was adopted a few times, but she was always brought back, saying there was something wrong with her. By the time she turned ten word got around that there was something very wrong with her and no one wanted to adopt her or foster her anymore. She spent the rest of her childhood growing up at an orphanage near the outskirts of the town until she was sixteen, when it was closed down. Kenzi couldn’t remember the day in question and when she inquired as to why it was being shut down they told her violations. She didn’t know what that meant but it didn’t sound good. She was placed in the care of her sister after that. Generally a happy person, and not much didn’t make Kenzi happy, except liars, she didn’t like liars. Never understood it, or people’s need to do it, just tell the truth, take a small amount of trouble now, or a whole lot more if you’re caught lying later. Choice seemed simple to her, don’t lie.
She was pushing the dolly of fresh baked bread and goodies across the parking lot towards the diner. Her headphones were in and she was dancing as she went. Normally a delivery driver does this, but he called in sick today, so here she was. It was slow in the bakery kitchen at the moment, her shelves were stocked with fresh breads and her display cases had all her treats ready to go. She found herself with nothing better to do and she was hungry, she’d drop off the bread and pick up lunch. Hopefully Patrick wouldn’t be stingy and let her have her fries this time. Last time he withheld them until she ate the burger he gave her. She liked the burgers, but the best part of the burgers were they came with fries. She loved fries, the best edible creation ever. Why save the best things for last? Eat them first.
As she approached the door, she heard two muffled voices conversing about something. Not wanting to be rude she stopped and waited for them to notice her standing there and move out of the way. After ten minutes of waiting, it became clear they didn’t see her, it was a downside of being little, she was often overlooked. Maybe Patrick wasn’t open today, he did that sometimes, but he usually calls ahead and lets her know that he won’t need a delivery today. Peeking over top of the dolly she got a glimpse of the men standing there. Wow, they’re tall. Like really tall, like tower tall! The taller one had jet black hair, shaved close to the sides of his head and messy spikes on top, she noticed a blue tinge to it. He also seemed to be grumpy about something, maybe he was having a bad day or he was hungry. She gets slightly grumpy when she’s hungry. The other one had chestnut brown hair, more clean cut and well groomed, he wasn’t as tall but still pretty tall, he too carried a grumpy expression. Something spiky black hair said seemed to upset him a little.
“Is Patrick not open?” She hated to interrupt them, but she needed to make her delivery. They both turned to look at her, and spiky black hair seemed relieved by her interruption as he looked at her peeking over the dolly at them. Catching a hint of a smile on his otherwise stone face, something inside her started to spark, as the butterflies in her stomach took flight. He had oval shaped deep emerald green eyes and she couldn’t be certain but they looked like they held golden swirls in them. He had a strong, chiseled, square jaw, luscious full lips and straight edged nose. High cheekbones and sun kissed golden skin pulled his appearance together. His black t-shirt looked like it was painted on his sculpted body, his muscular, well defined chest stretched the fabric tight. She saw the hints of a tattoo under his sleeve and couldn’t help wondering what it was. He had to be the most beautiful man she has ever seen. Men can be bootiful….right? Yeah, they can be! Forcing her eyes away from him, she looked towards the other one. The smaller of the two looked a little more annoyed at her, maybe she didn’t want to look at him either, though he was handsome, his gaze was unnerving. His light hazel eyes narrowed focusing on her.
“I believe he is, we’re just deciding if we’re going in.” The taller one replied.
“Ok!” She stood there nodding her head not looking at either man for a minute before she looked back at spiky black hair, he seemed more friendly, though they both looked like they could eat her. “Well I disighded, may I go in please?” She asked, offering him a smile.
“Sure!” He replied, pulling the door open for her to enter. Tipping the dolly back towards her she smiled brighter at him.
“Thank you!” She called over her shoulder as she danced her way into the diner.

“I’ll call her whatever the fuck I want to her face, she is not my mate ….grrrr….” Adonis snarled back. He didn’t want to meet the Alpha’s daughter, he didn’t care to meet her. He knew who his mate was, he just couldn’t find her. He felt Odin getting restless in his head. What has your fur in a fluff? I don’t know, but I’m excited! Well get over it! I can’t, I like it! He could feel Odin’s excitement at something, but he couldn’t figure out what it was. Elijah was still trying to talk to him about meeting the Alpha’s daughter, it might have been a good idea, but it wasn’t him she was going to throw herself at.
“If it is such a great idea, then you go and let her throw herself at you, like some pathetic whore. I’m not interested ….grrrr….” Adonis again snarled at him. Elijah was trying to bite back his own anger at this. His Alpha was being stubborn and bullheaded. Before he could open his mouth they were interrupted.
“Is Patrick not open?” The voice was melodious and when Adonis looked to his right he saw large almond shaped eyes curtained by thick long lashes staring back at him over top of a mountain of fresh baking. The mouthwatering aroma of it filled the air, but what had him captivated was the colour. He’s never seen silver eyes before. It was mesmerizing how they glittered and sparkled as they danced in the sun. He immediately felt at ease, relaxed. Strange! He thought. When her gaze shifted to Elijah a swell of jealousy flared up in him, he wanted her eyes on him, he didn’t want to share them with anyone else. He thought briefly about shoving Elijah out of the way so he could have those eyes all to himself. Again this was strange, he doesn’t know her, he shouldn’t care who this little girl looked at, but he did, he cared greatly, he only wanted her looking at him. Make her look at us again! Odin seemed to want it as well.
“I believe he is, we’re just deciding if we’re going in” Adonis replied first, hoping it would draw her eyes back to him. His voice grew a note softer when he spoke to her, he didn’t know why it did that either. He didn’t understand why it did that. Odin was growing more excited in his head, but somewhat confused as well. All he could smell was bread, delicious fresh baked bread.
“Ok!” She looked away briefly, nodding her head. He didn’t know why but when he couldn’t see her eyes at all something ached inside of him. “Well I disighded, may I go in please?” She asked, though he couldn’t see her smile her eyes grew brighter and when she looked back at him the ache in his chest eased.
“Sure!” He replied, pulling the door open for her to enter. This time he caught the smile and her face, she looked vaguely familiar to him, but he couldn’t place where he’d seen her before. Her full natural crimson lips pulled into a big beautiful smile, her high delicate cheekbones held a pink tinge and her cute little button nose was wrinkled. The plum colour of her hair hung in soft waves past her shoulders, coupled with her long thick full eyelashes, her silver eyes really stood out, when he took in her full appearance. She carried a small scar above her top lip, but she was breathtakingly beautiful that it wasn’t even noticeable.
“Thank you!” She called over her shoulder as she danced her way into the diner.
Compelled to continue watching the tiny little thing dance, he followed her into the diner, never taking his eyes off the movement of her backside. He could hear Elijah cursing under his breath behind him, and a slight smile tugged at his lips. If he was going to be forced to suffer through a cake tasting with some bitch, then at least he could enjoy the entertainment this little one insisted on providing first. Odin still continued to stir with excitement in his head, something about watching the little woman dance really seemed to spark him. Locating a booth close enough to see her from, but not wanting to make it too obvious that he was staring, he sat down and continued to watch her. Elijah was still trying to get him to focus back on the discussion they were having on the sidewalk.
“You’re not even paying attention, you’re too busy watching the dancing ass” He hissed at him. Clenching and unclenching his fists, Adonis fought hard to control his rising anger.
“You’re really starting to piss me off Elijah.” He stated very clearly to him, never taking his eyes off the little dancer stocking the diner’s donut display. That is a happy dancing ass! Odin was thoroughly enjoying what he was seeing as well. That is a sexy dancing ass, looks very firm! Maybe we can bite it! Look who’s horny now! Hard not to be, look at her! Trust me I am, I haven’t taken my eyes off her!
His eyes hungrily roamed her body. Her skin was kissed by the sun, smooth and looked oh so touchably soft. He could envision running his hands over it. Her lips beckoned to be kissed, they were calling for him to do it, to break his rule. Not that he ever would, but fuck was it ever tempting. He bet they would taste as good as the rest of her and thinking of all the moans he could elicit from them sent a ripple of anticipation through him. She was absolutely tiny, she could possibly fit in one hand. Good things come in small packages! Odin remarked. He followed the flow of her wavy hair to her ample breast, she may be small but she was blessed. Good things indeed! Who’s horny now? Shut up! Her slender waist, he could definitely wrap one arm around twice, to her small, round and tight looking behind. Forcing himself to stay seated in the booth, when what he really wanted to do was go over there and give it a good squeeze, he clenched his hands instead. She might like it! What has gotten into you? I don’t know, but she excites me, I want her! I want her too! She was gorgeous, and watching her move her body only gave him other thoughts of how she could move her body.
Too busy watching the little one dance he didn’t notice the waitress standing there.
“Do you always let patrons dance in your establishment?” It was Elijah’s displeased voice that brought his attention back to the table. He released a frustrated sigh and glared at him sitting on the other side.
“Who? Her, just ignore her, that’s what everyone else does, but she pretty much dances everywhere she goes. She’s Patrick’s little pet, but there’s something not right with her,” he heard the waitress say. Catching the hint of disdain in her voice Odin released a growl in his head. Why was his wolf acting protective over the girl? Though that last sentence erased every vision he had of her on her back moving under him in his head. Great lusting after a special needs girl, how desperate could he be? Maybe I shouldn’t have threatened to eat the last one? Maybe!
“What’s wrong with her? Aside from improper social etiquette” Elijah asked, Adonis caught the note of contempt in his Gamma’s voice. Seemed he didn’t like the tone of the waitress’s voice any more than he did. What the hell is going on? Beats me, but can we have her now?
“I don’t know!” Adonis arched his brow at this,
“Then how can you claim something is wrong with her, if you don’t know what is wrong with her?” He asked, finally looking up at the waitress. He wished he didn’t, then he wouldn’t have to see the way she eyed him. It made his skin crawl the way she undressed him. Again this puzzled him, usually women looking at him like that never bothered him, on a few occasions he encouraged it. But he didn’t want it this time. The waitress wasn’t hard to look at, easy on the eyes. She’d be good for a sack roll, but the mere thought caused bile to raise in the back of his throat.
“The whole town says it,” the waitress replied with a shrug.
“If the whole town says it then it must be true” Adonis grumbled and went back to watching the girl dance, he didn’t know why that bothered him but it did, it shouldn’t have. She was now standing at the counter talking to an older man maybe in his mid fifties, tall, slender build, full head of dark brown hair. Must be the owner! Odin grumbled, he didn’t like how close the man was to her. Adonis didn’t like it either, a wave of possessiveness washed over him. When he saw the man touch her he had to fight back the growl Odin wanted to release and the overwhelming urge he had to pull her away from him. What the hell was wrong with him? He didn’t know this girl, she wasn’t his mate, so why did it bother him that another man touched her?

“You didn’t have to stock the donut display case kid, you know that” Patrick said to her,
“I know! May I has a burger and fries please?” She asked with a smile gracing her face.
“Sure thing kid” Patrick replied,
“Ass-tra bacon!” She called after him as he stepped into the kitchen to take care of her order
“I know!” He called back. Waiting for her order she resumed her dancing, her smile getting bigger as she moved her body. Every once in a while the words would slip out and she would sing out loud. Like the waitress claimed, the other patrons in the diner paid absolutely no attention to her. It was like she didn’t even exist to them. Adonis didn’t understand how they could easily ignore her; she was doing nothing to hide the fact that she was present. He even caught Elijah looking around the diner questioning how they didn’t see the tiny dancing girl singing out loud for all to hear.
“Oh good, now we’re going to be serenaded.” Elijah huffed, again Adonis released a sigh of frustration. Elijah was really starting to get on his nerves. How attached are we to him? Odin asked. He’s a good Gamma! Not what I asked! No you can’t eat him! Fine! Odin released his own deep sigh.
Turning his attention yet again to the little dancing behind that was now standing directly in front of him, he tuned Elijah out. What’s wrong with her? Nothing that I can see! Then why would that stupid bitch say there was? Jealousy, stupidity, the vile and venomous nature of some women when they are unable to compete with gorgeous creatures, take your pick! Maybe she’s not right in the head! Perhaps! I still want to bite her ass though! Classy as ever Odin!
“Can you make her stop?” Elijah asked another waitress,
“Who Kenzi? Why?” The waitress said.
“She’s a tad distracting” Elijah replied back,
“She’s not hurting anybody. Not sure why she was delivering though, Julio must be sick, she’s the baker for Sweet Talk Bakery down the block. If it bothers you, try not to look. Your friend doesn’t seem to share the same issue, he’s done nothing but stare. If there’s nothing else I’ll send your waitress to take your order” the waitress responded and moved on to another table.
Adonis couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face. Guess it was obvious that he was staring and here he thought he was hiding it so well. Before Elijah could even start in on him he cut him off.
“If you were even remotely entertaining at this moment you might maintain my focus. I am well aware of the ramifications if this meeting with daddy’s little whore of a princess doesn’t go well. But if I am going to be forced into tasting cake with the bitch, then at least let me enjoy some fucking entertainment first. Now. Leave. Me. Be!” The last part was said as a warning as the colour of burning flame flashed briefly in his eyes and vanished just as quickly.
Elijah raised his hands and bowed in submission, that was all he wanted. Adonis huffed a slight snarl and turned his attention back to the tiny dancer. It thrilled him to know that she was the baker for the bakery he was going to. When the meeting with he whore failed she could be his consolation prize. He watched the man bring her burger out and place it in front of her. She stopped dancing and looked down at it then looked back up at the man. Was something wrong with her order? Looked and smelled good to him.
“Patrick, you forgedded my fries!” She stated as she looked back down at the burger in front of her.
“No I didn’t. Eat the burger and I’ll bring you your fries” the man named Patrick replied,
“Bring my fries and I’ll eat the burger” she fired back. Seems fine in the head to me! Indeed she does! He continued listening to the two converse back and forth.
“No, if I give you the fries you won’t eat the burger” Patrick retorted.
“I always eat the burger, I jus eat the fries first. It’s the whole point of gedding a burger. It comes with fries, that’s the best part! More things should come with fries, like soup. I’d ged the soup if it came with fries” she claimed,
“You wouldn’t eat the soup” Patrick stated,
“That’s cause I don’t like soup. It’s not a meal, it’s not ezen a snack, it’s a hot drink that has chunks and you has to use a spoon and that’s jus weird!” She said. Adonis was finding it hard to contain his laughter at their ongoing conversation.
“Why do we have to have this same conversation every time?” Patrick asked,
“Cause you don’t give me fries if I don’t ged the burger. If you jus give me fries then we wou-dint has this con….conv….talk all the time.” Kenzi replied.
“Fries are not lunch, Kenzi” Patrick stated,
“They are if you eat them at lunch, Patrick” She countered. Adonis was fighting back the laughter, but it was hard with Odin howling in his head.
“Eat the burger Kenzi, then I’ll bring you your fries” Patrick restated,
“You can’t hold my fries hostatage Patrick, they come with the burger, not after the burger. Gary gedded his fries!” Kenzi shot back,
“In most cases yes you’re right fries come with it. In your case no, fries come after. Now eat the burger. One day you’ll let me put a vegetable on that thing” Patrick said as he moved away from her smiling.
“Ledduce goes in salads and you eat that with a fork and I don’t like salads, I’m not a rabbit.” She called after him,
“Eat the burger you carnivore” he called back from the kitchen. Adonis saw her huff as she went to pick up the burger only to put it back down quickly to address the waitress that snapped at Elijah.
“Pam, Pam, Patrick forgedded my fries,” she said. The waitress looked at her plate and a smile crept onto her face, they all seemed to understand that she wasn’t supposed to get the fries with her burger.
“Don’t you give her any fries Pam” Patrick called from the kitchen,
“Jus ten….five….two….please” Kenzi yelled back into the kitchen,
“Listen here you fry junkie, eat your burger then I’ll give you your fries and if you’re a good girl I’ll give you extra” Patrick said leaning against the entrance to the kitchen his arms crossed over his chest.
“Sorry Kenzi, hope you have a plan B” Pam said laughing, and moving on to help another customer. Again Kenzi huffed, she didn’t have a plan B….or did she. Taking out her phone and scrolling through her list of songs.
“Ok Patrick hold my fries hostatage, let’s talk” she hit play on her phone and she started singing loudly.
Let me set it straight, I’ve done some shit
And maybe I ain’t too proud of it
The monster in your bed
You were begging me, “Please don’t stop!”
When that didn’t bring Patrick running she sang louder,
Said that I’m a douchebag, won’t call back
The worst hangover you ever had
Felt so good at first, you knew that it could never last
Ok, Patrick this is war! She thought.
Wanna wash the dirt off my hands
Wanna get this all off my chest
But I’m no good at saying sorry, woah
I didn’t mean to fu….
(Fuck U Over - The Summer Set)
The word never even finished passing her lips, before Patrick had his hand clamped down on her mouth a very stern look upon his face.
“No!” He said firmly,
“No, fuck you over?” It was muffled by the owner’s hand, but Adonis heard it clearly. He didn’t understand it but it sounded absolutely wrong coming from her. It was also getting harder to fight the laugh, his grin had spread across his face as soon as she started to sing. He could even hear Elijah choking back his laugh. Guess Mr. Serious could lighten up after all!
“No! And you don’t say that word.” Patrick repeated,
“Ok!” Came her muffled reply. Patrick removed his hand from her mouth, and Adonis could just imagine the cheshire grin on her little angelic face. The little angel is hiding horns behind those silver eyes! Odin was howling in his head.
“I’ll take my fries now Patrick, unless you want me to keep singing, it’s gedding to the best part” he could see Patrick shaking his head in defeat.
“White flag Kenzi, you win, I’ll get your fries” still shaking his head, the smile seamlessly falling across his face as he walked back into the kitchen. Waiting till he was out of sight she did a little victory dance. Adonis chuckled at that, and had to give her credit for getting her fries. There is nothing wrong with her! No there is not! A crooked grin on his face he went back to watching her move her body as she waited for her fries. Maybe he’ll get to sample the baker after all.
Twenty minutes later, fries done, burger and a double chocolate vanilla milkshake in hand, Kenzi danced her way to the door, calling bye over her shoulder as she stepped out of the diner. Not seeing the need to be there any longer, he got what he wanted, Adonis got up from the booth.
“Where are you going?” Elijah asked, growing concerned,
“Relax Elijah, I’m going to walk around the town for a bit. Besides I have an appointment, it would be in poor taste to make the whore wait.” Adonis left the diner before Elijah could say anything back to him. The second he stepped out the door it hit him, that intoxicating scent of lavender and green apples. He let it fill him, consume him, greedily he breathed it in. Odin howled in his head with excitement. MATE!! Where? The town was crawling with people. I still want the baker! He saw the reason he left getting into a delivery van. Both him and his wolf were torn between what to do. They both wanted their mate, but they both also wanted the baker. He didn’t understand why he was so drawn to her, he was never drawn to humans. But he wanted the baker, he had to have her. Maybe the baker, then we’ll find our mate! Are you serious? Odin’s statement threw him off, he has been hounding him for years to find his mate, now he’s telling him to go after the baker. Too many smells right now, and I want the baker! It was true, his mate’s scent was starting to fade from the air and what lingered was being overpowered by other scents. Downside of being a werewolf, was you could smell everything, even scents you didn’t want to.
