The Alpha Wants Everything Book 1 The King's Queen

Chapter 20: One wish!

YOU LITTLE BITCH! YOU THINK YOU CAN HIDE?” his screams echoed through the little dingy house. “COME OUT NOW, IT WON’T BE AS BAD” she knew it would be worse. She stayed in her hiding spot, she held her breath as she could hear him thundering through the house looking for her. “WHERE ARE YOU?” He screamed as she covered her mouth to stop her sobs from being heard. Tears streamed down her face, she knew better than to cry, crying made it worse. Crying made him beat her more, it fueled his hate for her. He wanted to see her cry, he wanted to hear her pain. She held her breath, closed her eyes, and kept her mouth covered. But surely he could hear her heart, it was beating so fast, so loud, with every thumping footstep that brought him closer to her her heart grew louder and louder. “WHEN I FIND YOU YOU’LL BE SORRY” he thundered, storming through the house again, throwing furniture and slamming doors in his wake. Please don’t let him find me this time. But her luck ran out, he ripped open the closet door she was hiding in, and grabbed her. She let out a scream and she wiggled in his grasp but he was too strong. He threw her fragile little body to the floor and she felt a bone snap causing her to cry out in pain. “YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD HIDE FROM ME?” he raged at her, she saw him pull the belt from his pants and fold it over. “YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY FROM ME?” Oh god I’m going to die tonight, she thought. “YOU CAN NEVER GET AWAY FROM ME” “NOT EVEN THE WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO YOU WANTS YOU, YOU ARE THAT PATHETIC” Then he hit her, again and again, over and over, never seeming to grow tired, screaming how worthless she was, “THE WORST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE” “I HATE YOU” “I WISH I NEVER TOOK YOU IN” “ALL THIS IS YOUR FAULT” “ONE DAY I WILL KILL YOU” she had a wish as well, one wish, one simple wish, one she hoped came true tonight, one she hoped would be granted to her. That was the night she wished for death to come and take her.

Kane tossed and turned in his bed. Something was gripping at him pulling him under trying to get him to let go and he fought it with everything he had. It was dark, cold and sank into him deep. It circled around him, filling him with dread and despair. Pain coursed through his body and fear clung to him. Ky was barking in his head at the feeling then it vanished. He stilled, he settled then in one force like a tsunami it hit him, rocking straight to the heart of him and one name entered his mind Dax and he let go.

When he opened his eyes he was in a tiny rundown house, it was dirty and smelled rancid. The walls were cracked and the roof was on the verge of collapse. Broken furniture was thrown about the room he was standing in and he could feel a menacing presence in the house coming from somewhere, but more he could smell fear, so strong he could feel it. It gripped at him, taking hold, refusing to let go. Where are we Ky? I don’t know, but I don’t like it. Then he heard it, the beating of a heart, faint at first but getting louder by the second. Thunderous footsteps above his head tore the upstairs to pieces looking for something. No, they’re looking for someone. A man appeared at the foot of the stairs, he was neither small nor large. He was average in every way possible, but he was angry, he was screaming, his face twisted with rage. Kane couldn’t hear what he was saying but the more he screamed the more his face twisted, his eyes blazed with hatred. As he stormed towards Kane his repulsion rolled off him. Kane braced for a confrontation, but the man moved past him like he wasn’t even there. What the fuck? He continued to rip the room apart, and the heartbeat Kane had heard was louder than before, it was almost deafening, he had to cover his ears to try and block some of the sound. When he saw the man rip the door off a tiny closet, he saw a young girl maybe 14 hiding on the floor. She was terrified, trembling so badly, her body was thin and frail, he watched in horror as the man pulled her from the closet and threw her onto the floor with such force that he heard a bone snap. He saw her cry out, but he couldn’t hear the sound. He couldn’t hear anything but the beating of her heart. Kane tried to yell for him to stop, but no sound came out, no words. He tried to move, to help but he was stuck to the floor as if unseen restraints were holding him back. He struggled and fought against them breathing hard, his heart beating wildly, but all he could do was watch helplessly as the man beat her with a belt. She huddled in a ball trying to cover her head, when she looked at him, he saw the life draining out of her cerulean blue eyes, he saw the hope fade from the amethyst starbursts, how she longed for death, wished for it. Then a smell hit him, lilac and cherry blossoms.
