I looked at the black negligee on the bed. “Do you want me to wear it?”

“I do.” He started to undress, unbuttoning his tunic one button at a time. “I promised you a dance.” He unlocked his cellphone and chose a playlist. Soft, sensual music filled the room.

I let my dress slide to my feet and stepped out of it, clad only in my thong, to put on the black lace that reached. down to my ankles. It was soft and cool against my skin, like a light caress, making my nipples stand to attention I fastened the cord around my waist all the while feeling his eyes roving my body.

When I looked up, he was seated on the love seat, his bare arms resting on the back of it and wearing only his boxers. But his desire for me was obvious in the way his erection strained against the scrap of material.

“Do you like what you see, my king?” I smiled teasingly, turning so that the flimsy lace swished around my legs.

“Very much.” He beckoned to me with his index finger. “Dance for me. Here,” indicating his lap.

I giggled, “Aren’t we going to dance together?” I really had no idea what he expected of me, but I swayed my hips to the beat, moving towards him.

“Oh, yes, my sweet. But I want to watch you first. Close your eyes and dance for me.” His sultry voice could make me do anything he wanted. I had no control.

I closed my eyes and gave myself over to the sensual music, moving my body with my hands in the air, dancing with wild abandon.

“Closer.” A soft demand.

When my legs touched his knee, his hands went to my hips to lift me onto his lap. I opened my eyes to meet his intense dark stare. On my knees on the loveseat, straddling him, I reached for his hair, loosening the tie at the back of his head and letting it loose. I combed my fingers through the strands, still moving my hips in rhythm to the music.

Our eyes locked. His hands stayed on my swaying hips, pulling me closer until my breasts rocked against his hard chest. I gasped and arched my back. His hands on my buttocks, kneading them, almost painfully, made me

moan with need.

Amaris swirled his tongue on my nipple through the lace and nipped the hard bud playfully. It was hard enough. to send a flood of desire to my core.

“Amaris…” I gasped, “Oh…”

“Tell me how much you want me, Raine,” he whispered near my ear.

“So much, Amaris. I want you so much. All of you.” I kissed him, devouring his mouth like a starving woman. The depth of passion I felt for him at that moment filled me with wonder and also scared me. It scared me a lot.

It was wonderful to wake up with Amaris’ strong arms around me and the sound of his restful breathing in my ear as liay with my head on his chest. I traced the lines of his pecs lightly, not wanting to wake him, I just liked the feel of the hard muscle under my fingertips.

‘Carry on like that, my sweet and you will wake up the beast.’ I heard his voice in my head.

“Oh. Sorry, I didn’t want to disturb you.” My cheeks flared up like hot embers.

He chuckled darkly, and in one swift movement had me on my back his weight pinning me down. His beast was. fully awake now and poking into my belly.

“Warned you.” His eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled down at me. Growling playfully he nibbled and sucked on my neck making me squeal and writhe under him.

A soft knock at the door disturbed us.

“What!” he roared out. “Are you tired of your life?”

“Sorry to disturb you, your Majesties. Breakfast.” Rhona’s voice.

He frowned deeply then with a sigh; he rolled off me. “Leave it at the door and f uck off.”

I cringed at his tone, feeling sorry fo

for Rhona.

“Yes, of course, your Majesty.” She didn’t sound as if it bothered her though.

Amaris hopped off the bed to put on his robe. He went to retrieve the trolley with our breakfast.

“I suppose we need to eat.” He pushed it close to the bed. “Let’s see what we have here…”

He opened the serving dishes. “Hmm… Bacon and eggs. Steak strips, my personal favorite. Oh, and some cereal, nope. Not having that.”

I got off the bed to serve him. “Let me.” I liked to pile his plate, it felt normal, like we were just an ordinary couple having breakfast together instead of serv ants tending to us. He watched me smiling slightly.

“Raine, I know it would be ideal to go away for a few days. But I’m afraid we can’t.” His mouth turned down at the corners. “Not with circumstances being what they are.”

“Do you really think that it was meant as a death threat?” It seemed silly to me, but if he felt so strongly about it…

“I will not risk it. But I will make it up to you.” He pulled me onto his lap. “I promise.”

“We don’t have to go anywhere.” As long as I was with him, it was enough for me.

I poured the herbal tea for myself and took a sip. It was sweet, but had a bitter aftertaste that I didn’t like, but I drank it anyway. After all, Amaris had ordered it. We ate in comfortable silence.

After a while I felt full and sleepy. I laid my head on his shoulder, enjoying the closeness when suddenly a shooting pain in my tummy made me cry out.

“Raine? What’s wrong?” Amaris grabbed my shoulders to keep me from falling to the floor.

I was doubled over, folding my arms across my stomach. The pain was so intense I couldn’t speak. A warm flood flowed out between my thighs.

“You’re bleeding!” Amaris called out and from the panic in his voice I knew that this wasn’t normal.

The room started to spin, and it greyed out as I sank into his arms.
