Chapter EPILOGUE 2
EPILOGUE
NINE YEARS LATER.
XANDER.
I never wanted any of this to happen. I never asked to be cursed, and now I've passed that Curse onto my son.
Today, I have to tell Dominic that Caliana is his mate and explain why he cannot be with her and why she was promised another wolf.
Dominic got Caputo's anger. That's for sure everything sets him off lately, but that's because he is about to shift for the first time, and first-time shifts are the most painful
Dominic isn't the only one turning sixteen. There is also Henry. Bane turned sixteen last week, and I had to sit him down and explain why he couldn't be with Caliana. Of course, he wasn't happy with me, but he still agreed to the rules.
The same rules that Dominic has to agree to.
As the boys take the stage for their first shifts, everyone is gathered, and I have to give a speech. "As you boys know, your first shift will be painful. And once you shift, you will be able to communicate with your wolves. You will also be able to find your mates.”
They nod.
"Do you have any questions?”
They both shake their heads.
"Okay. You can start the first shift,"
Henry screams as his bones crack and his joints pop from their socks. Dominic doesn't even whimper as his body starts cracking and moving to his wolf's shape.
Once they were in wolf forms, they ran in the woods.
"What are you doing?" Brinley asks.
"I'm waiting for Dominic to return so I can explain the rules to him,"
I've been sitting on the bottom step of the staircase for hours, waiting.
"You haven't told him yet?"
“No,”
"Xander, you better..." Brinley tails off when the door opens, and Dominic walks through the door. She smiles at him.
"How was it?"
Dominic shrugs.
"It was okay. My wolf's name is Ares," He tells her.
"That's great,” She says, then frowns as Dominic's eyes widen.
Caliana comes waltzing down the hall, and she smiles when she sees him.
"You're back? How was it?"
Dominic doesn't answer.
"Caliana, I need your help," Brinley tells her, and she nods.
"Dominic and your dad have to talk,"
Dominic looks at me, and if looks could kill, I'd be dead.
"Follow me, son,"
Dominic slams the door to my office shut.
"Why the hell is my sister my mate?"
"Sit down, and I'll explain everything,”
Dominic clenches his jaw.
"You knew this whole time and didn't tell me?"
I shook my head.
"You had to learn on you're own,"
"Why?" He frowns.
"Dominic, I'm sorry that Curse falls on you now. But your mother decided to adopt Caliana and raise her as our own. You have every right to be upset, but you need to follow the rules,” "Rules?" Dominic repeats.
go ol
"What rules?" He asks.
"Caliana can not know you are her mate. She is going to marry Tyson Mortaga.”
Dominic stands with his palms fisted.
"To fuck she is. Yes, Caliana was raised as my sister. But I haven't thought of her as a sister in years now,"
I raise a brow.
"That so?"
He nods.
"She's my mate, and she will not fucking marry anyone, do you understand?"
The muscle in my jaw ticks from clenching my teeth so hard.
"Don’t use that tone with me. I'm your father," I warn him.
"Bane has agreed, and so will you,"
"Bane?"
I nod.
"What does Bane have to do with this?"
I narrow my eyes, and he frowns.
"Bane is the other mate?"
I nod.
"I"ll agree on one condition,” Dominic says.
"What's that?"
"Don’t let her marry Tyson,"
I sigh.
"I'm afraid I cannot stop it. The contract was signed in blood, and there is no way out of it," "Find a way," Dominic says through clenched teeth.
I shake my head.
"I'm sorry, Dominic,”
"Then I won't agree,”
"You will,"
He shakes his head.
“I won't,"
"Dominic," I warn.
"You can't expect me to give her up. How you feel if your father told you to give up, mom?” Fuck.
"I know how you feel, Dominic. But, please trust what your mother and I are doing is for the best." "Fine."
"You agree to the rule?”
"Yes, I won't tell her that she's my mate. I won't mark her.”
I nod.
"Good. You can go now," I tell him.
Dominic storms out and slams the door behind him.
"I told you he wouldn't take it well,”
I narrow my eyes at my little mate.
"How did I get so lucky to have you?" I say, pulling her into my chest.
She shrugs.
"Charles might be a lot of things, but if not for him, I wouldn't have you,"
She smiles.
"Thank you, Charles,” She mutters and kisses me.
I pulled away from Brinley when the composition started.
Brinley and I walk into the hallway and see Dominic on top of Henry.
I break them apart.
"My office boys now,"
I look over at Bane.
"You too,"
"What the hell was that fight about?"
Silence.
"Dominic?"
He looks away.
"Bane?"
He shakes his head.
"Henry?"
"I only said that Caliana was beautiful, and Bane pushed me, and Dominic was punching my face,” I nod.
"Henry, you may go,"
He gets up and walks out but not before smirking at Dominic.
"Boys, what did I say about not letting anyone know?"
“I'm sorry," Bane mutters.
"It won't happen again,”
I nod.
"You can go,"
Bane leaves, and Dominic narrows his eyes.
"Henry is a lair. I kicked his ass because he said Caliana had a nice ass. I was defending my sister,” He says
"Why did Henry lie?"
Dominic shrugs.
"Why would he tell you the truth? About you're daughter?”
Dominic did a have a point.
"Dominic, you can go. Just don't have any slip ups and keep your hands to yourself," "Whatever,"
I sighed once I was alone.
This was going to be more complicated than we thought.
