Chapter CHAPTER 52 THE WEDDING
CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO
THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING.
Brinley.
"Do I have to?"
Katie narrows her eyes.
"Yes! Xander is going to his bachelor party tonight as well,"
"SOR"
Katie groans.
"Brinley, you're going out with us girls. It's final,” She says, walking away from me.
I sigh.
I knew having Katie and Kelsy plan my wedding was a terrible idea. They went all out, and all I asked for was a simple wedding, but neither Katie nor Kelsy knew what the word simple meant.
I'll do the big wedding and puffy dress but do I have to attend my bachelorette party? I mean, what's the sense in it?
Ugh
Maybe I could pretend to be sick?
I shake my head.
That won't work. Kelsy would see right through it.
I walk into the kitchen, grab a bagel and glass of orange juice, and head to the gardens.
I sat on the wooden glider, rocked back and forth, and ate my bagel.
It's so peaceful here when it's quiet, and you enjoy the beautiful flowers. The smell in the gardens is lovely.
It's perfect and relaxing.
I lean against the window frame of my bedroom and watch people setting up for the wedding tomorrow; the rows of benches look like they go on for miles, the lights are being hung, and the fountain is being hooked up.
All this work for a ten-minute ceremony.
"What are you thinking about?" Xander asks and leans against the window.
I force a smile on my face before turning to face him.
"Nothing," I shake my head.
"You're getting cold feet?"
"No," I chuckle.
"Tell me what's wrong," He says.
"I this is all..." I tail off as my eyes zero in on a giant ice sculpture made of two swans, and their face connects and makes a heart shape.
"Too much?"
I shake my head.
"Yes, but I don't mind the wedding so much. It's the party tonight I don't want to do,"
Xander nods.
"You know I would rather spend my night with you,” He wiggles his brows, and I couldn't hold in the laugh.
"Same," I tell him after I calmed down from laughing.
I squeal when Xander lifts me over his shoulder and spanks my ass.
"Ow, what was that for?"
"A warning to be quiet,” He says, and I know he's smirking.
"Why did you bring me here?" I ask, looking out at the lake Xander and I used to meet, and all the memories flood my brain
"This is our spot, remember?" He asks.
I nod.
"I do. But what about the party?”
Xander shrugs.
"What about them?"
I raise a brow.
"They'll notice we're gone,"
"Let them,” He says and takes off his shirt.
My eyes dart to his naked chest my mouth waters to lick over those abs.
I bite my lip to contain myself. And my naughty thoughts.
Xander smirks and takes off his jeans.
The boxer strained against his thick, firm thighs, letting his long hair fall.
"Strip," He orders
I shake my head.
"No, way, I don't have a bathing suit, and someone could see,”
"Little mate, if I half to drag you, I will," He warns.
I roll my eyes and take off my shorts and then my shirt.
Xander's eyes roam my half-naked body before a groan escapes his lips
"Race you to the top,” I say, gesturing to the cliff that overhangs the lake.
Xander raises a brow.
"You think you can beat me?"
I nod.
"I know I can,’ I say and take off running.
"That's cheating,” He yells as he runs toward me.
I run and climb over rocks with Xander not far behind.
I glance down at him, and he smiles
"I'm catching up with you, little mate,” He taunts.
I pick up my pace and run faster, pushing my limbs to climb and jump so I can reach the top.
I reach the top and raise my arms.
"I'm the winner," I shout and panting from being out of breath.
"You won because you cheated,” Xander says, walking toward me.
I shrug.
"A win is a win," I tell him.
I frown when Xander doesn't stop smirking.
"What?"
Xander shakes his head.
My eyes widen when Xander picks me up and jumps off the cliff.
"Xander,"
I hide my face in the crook of his neck just before we hit the water.
I held on to him tight, but we had pulled apart somehow.
I surface and suck air in my lungs and move the hair and water from my face.
The water was cooled and felt good against my hot skin, and I lay on my back and floated like Xander.
"Just like old times," Xander says, floating next to me.
"Yeah," I mutter.
"Xander?" I say low.
"Mhm?"
"Will things change? Once we're married, I mean?"
"Little mate, once we're married, you will be queen and have responsibilities to the Kingdom. But if you ask me if my feelings for you will change, the answer is no.”
"What if I mess up?"
Xander chuckles.
"No one is perfect, and I'm sure you will mess up from time to time, fuck even I screw up now and again,” He murmurs.
"You do?"
Xander nods and pulls me close, and I wrap my legs around him.
I look into Xander's silver eyes and frown.
"Are you want to marry me? I've caused so much damage to you and your only living uncle,” "Fuck Charles. You and Dominic and Caliana are all the family I need. I love you, Brinley, but I won't force you to marry me,”
The moonlight danced across Xander's face, and a shiver ran down my spine.
I stroke his face softly, and his eyes closed from my touch.
"You're not forcing me. I want to marry you, Xander, I love you, and that's never going to change,” "Have you written your vows?" He asks.
"No," I shake my head.
"Have you?"
Xander shrugs.
"You'll find out tomorrow,"
Xander backs me up against the same rock he pushed me against when we first came here. Xander's lips claims mine.
THE WEDDING DAY
I woke up early to an angry Katie and Kelsy because I ditched the party they were having for me. So instead, Xander and I spent almost all night at the lake talking, kissing, and rubbing against each other; it was nice and reminded me of old times.
Xander is the love of my life and even though I didn't want a big wedding, knowing he'll be there at the end of the altar waiting for me makes it worth it.
"Brinley, hold still before you lose an eye," Katie warns me.
Katie has been doing my face while Kelsy curls and styles my hair.
I told Kelsy I didn't want my hair up; I wanted it down and curly. However, she did complain a few times, telling me I needed to cut it because it's grown so long, and her arms are tired after a few curls.
I didn't want to chop my hair off; I like it long and wavy.
I know part of me is sad because papa won't be here to give me away like he did Kelsy.
Knox offered to walk me down the Aisle, and I accepted because Knox is genuinely a friend, and I can count on him to stand by me no matter what.
He proved that to me when I ran; he never told Xander I spoke with him often, and he could have and chose to help me escape, and I'll always be thankful to him.
"Do not leave this room," Katie tells me.
"Kelsy and I will get ready before we get your dress on," She says.
"Thanks. I'm sorry about the party,” I apologize for the hundredth time.
Katie sighs.
"Don't even worry about it," She mutters, grabbing her makeup and leaving.
Kelsy pins half of my hair up with an old burette shaped like a butterfly.
"It belongs to our ancestor Jasmine. Delores showed me the book, and I remember dad gave it to me. But I think you should have it,"
"The butterfly is green," Kelsy adds.
I shrug.
"Green can be the new blue," She nods.
"Are you sure you want me to have it? You could pass it down to Rose,"
"I have grandma's diamond necklace to pass to Rose, and now you have something to pass down to Caliana,"
I touch the Burette.
"Thank you, Kelsy. This means so much to me,” I say and hug her.
"Don't cry," Kelsy warns me shaking her head.
"Katie will kill us both if you ruin your makeup,”
I chuckle in a nod.
“True,”
"I'll be back soon,” Kelsy says, leaving the room.
"Ready to see the dress?"
I smile and nod.
Kelsy holds up a black dress bag.
"I had this shipped from Italy," Katie says.
She unzips the bag and moves the black sack protecting the dress.
My mouth drops.
Xander.
The ladies walk down the Aisle first, Katie, Kelsy, and Julia. They were all wearing silky yellow dresses with a v-neckline.
Caliana stands at the end of the Aisle. Her white dress was flowing with yellow roses on it.
As she walks, throwing flowings and smiling, my heart flutters.
One day I will be walking her down the Aisle and giving her away to Tyson Mortaga.
I shake the thought. I can’t think about that now, or I'll punch mark in his fucking nose.
Brinley deserves to have the perfect day.
The crowd stands, and I catch a glimpse of Brinley's head.
I close my eyes and inhale a deep breath.
Brinley has her arm laced through Knox's. Her hair is curled and pinned up at the top as her hair hangs over her shoulders. The white veil cascades down her back but doesn't cover her beautiful face.
Brinley's wedding dress hugged her curves and flared out just above her knee. The middle of the dress was lace, and you could see her skin through it.
But I don't give a fuck. She's mine, and everyone knows it.
How did I get so lucky?
I guess I have Charles to thank for something after all.
Brinley.
My eyes never leave Xanders as I reach the end of the altar. His white tux looked strained against him, and his yellow tie was tied perfectly, and Dominic stood beside him, looking like his twin, wearing a smile.
Knox grabs my hand and places it in Xander's before placing a kiss on my cheek.
I smile at Knox before he takes his stand beside Dominic.
Whoever Katie got to do, the ceremony took forever, and I ignored it as he spoke until I heard him say.
"Xander, you may say your vows,"
I look up at Xander, and he licks his lips.
"Brinley, I promise to love you and always be true. I never wanted a mate until you walked into my life, and I was terrified you would run off when you found out who I was. But your heart is so deep and full of love, and I'm glad that I'm the one who gets to keep it safe, and I will, baby. You are the light to my darkness, the reason for living,"
Tears welled up in my eyes and softly fell.
"Ms. James. Your vows."
"Xander, I promise always to be faithful to you, and I will love you through the bad times as much as the good times. You are the reason I wake up every day and smile, and no amount of time is enough to show you how much my heart is yours. However, I will remind you every second of every day, and I will cherish and love you until the last breath leaves my body."
"Xander, repeat after me. With this ring I thy wed,”
Xander places the ring on my finger and pushes it on.
"With this ring I thy wed,”
"Brinley, repeat after me. With this ring I thy wed,"
I place the black ring on Xander's finger and slide it on.
"With this ring I thy wed,”
"I now pronounce you Husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride,"
Xander smiles and grabs my face pulling me into his kiss.
"I now present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Xander Caputo,”
Everyone claps and whoos, but we ignore them as we fight for dominance with tongues.
After the ceremony, the reception began, and everyone started drinking and dancing, and having a good time.
Xander and I still haven't had our first dance yet because someone either steals him or me away from the other.
After cutting the cake and smashing it in each other's faces, I walked over and stole Kelsy's piece. "Hey, that's mine," She exclaims.
"I'm sorry, but I'm so hungry,"
"Shouldn't you be dancing?" Ryder smirks.
My eyes widen.
"My feet hurt from all the dancing, and I'm exhausted and hungry,”
He nods.
"I was only teasing. Sit for a bit,” He says and pats the chair.
"Thanks," I mutter, taking the empty chair.
"The wedding was beautiful, but to many people,” Ryder says.
"You can thank Kelsy and Katie for that,”
She gasps.
"You only get married once,” She says, drinking from her wine.
"Whatever you say, sweetheart,” Ryder tells her.
Someone taps my shoulder, and I glance back at them and smile when I see Xander.
"Dance with me," He says.
I put down the plate with half a cake and stand up.
I place my hand in his as he leads me to the dance floor.
Xander puts his hand around my waist and holds my free hand while one of mine goes to his shoulder as he moves up around the dance floor.
"Was it as bad as you thought?”
I frown.
"What?"
He chuckles.
"The wedding?”
I shake my head.
"It was perfect,” I say, leaning my head against his chest as we danced under the moonlight.
For our honeymoon, Xander whisked me away to the states to Honolulu, Hawaii.
We are in a beautiful house mile from the town and deep into the woods along the beach front. We were here for two days and explored the island; we even jumped off a cliff that was so much higher than the one at our lake. Yesterday we didn't leave the bedroom, and let me just say Xander never showed me how rough or kinky he could get until then.
Just thinking about it makes my walls tighten.
Xander is fixing our lunch while I lay on the towel, looking at the clear blue ocean.
It's breathtaking here.
And it makes me never want to leave.
"Xander, you have to slow down," I say, panting and sweating like a pig.
Xander wanted to go hiking to find the waterfall that is clear miles from the house.
"Keep moving,"
I groan and run after Xander.
"Do you want to race to the waterfall?" Xander asks.
I shake my head.
"I don't think I'm going to make it."
He laughs.
"You owe me. You cheated last time,"
I groan out loud.
"You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"
Xander shakes his head.
"Fine. Let's race," I say, walking up beside him and getting into position.
"Go," He shouts.
Before I could even blink, he was gone.
Yes, now I can walk in silence and pity my poor feet.
"You didn't even try, did you?"
I nod.
"I did. You were too fast,"
Xander laughs.
"I love it when you lie," He says, wrapping his arms around my neck and placing his chin on my head as we overlook the beautiful mountains with the water pouring down.
"It's beautiful,” I mutter.
Xander leans down and whispers in my ear.
"Not as beautiful as you,"
My cheeks turned bright red, and I turned my head to look away.
Xander chuckles.
"You don't have to hide your flushed cheeks from me. I think it's adorable?”
"Whatever," I mutter.
"Come on. Let's swim under the waterfall,"
I look up at Xander, and he grabs my hand and pulls down my shorts.
"I can do that myself,"
"I know," He nods.
I have been wearing nothing but bikinis since we got here; well, almost the other half of the time, I'm naked.
Xander pulls off his shirt and jumps into the water, and I follow behind him.
I swim underwater and only surface when I'm near the waterfall.
Xander is next to me as we stand underneath it and let the water cascade down our bodies. Xander pulled me close and kissed my lips.
Xander kisses down my neck, and a moan escapes my throat.
I cringe when I feel his canines scratch over my shoulder.
Before I even had time to form what was happening, his canines sank into my skin.
A hiss of pain leaves my lips, but it's soon replaced with pleasure, and I feel how are bodies are tying together wholly.
Xander kisses my mark softly.
His eyes met mine.
"You marked me?"
"I did," Xander nods.
"I wanted it to be special," He adds.
I lick my lips.
"Can I." I tail off.
What if he doesn't want to be marked by a half-breed?
"Yes, you can mark me," Xander finishes for me.
"Are you sure?"
Xander frowns.
"of course, I'm sure. You're my mate and my wife,"
I place my hands on his shoulders and kiss down his neck as he had to me.
My canines barely scratch down his skin until I get to where I'm supposed to mark him, then I bite down.
Xander groans.
I kiss the mark after, and Xander holds me closer.
"Now you're mine forever; there is no escaping me now,"
"I wouldn't want to be anywhere than where I am now with you,” I tell him.
"I love you, little mate,”
"I love you to Xander,"
THE END.
