Chapter-34
Cyra
His girlfriend
“So baby, why did you call me? Can’t you do one mission without me or do you miss me too much to stay away from me so long?” She teased.
She just called him baby, didn’t she? I guess she is his girlfriend.
“Well actually, I need your witch powers to wear off a spell.” He replied.
“Ooh, which one?” she asked.
“The…” Damon started.
“The one on the outer-most layer of the skotádi tomb. It’s a pretty big spell though; do you think you’ll be able to do it?” I said, cutting Damon off.
Why did I do that? Well, because I just can’t see them looking at each other like that. It’s very desperate, trust me, I know. But I just can’t, okay! I just can’t. I feel my heart breaking when I think of them together, even if I shouldn’t. Even if I’m nothing to him.
“Oh, that is a really strong spell. But chill, it’s nothing I can’t handle. I’m one of the strongest witches here; if I can’t do it, no one can!” She said proudly.
“You and your egoistic ass,” Damon chuckled and rolled his eyes.
“Please, people drool over this ass,” she said smirking.
“Anyways, we’ll do that tomorrow. You must be tired and we are already at our spot,” Damon said.
“Oh yes! Cyra, assuming I said it right, welcome to our humble aboard!” she said with dramatic hand gestures.
I don’t see it though. We are literally standing in front of a tree. I raised my eyebrow at her.
“Oh, right, sorry! Astaklimatus!” she whispered.
The tree suddenly opened and inside I could see a lovely place. It was the edge of a waterfall. Even though it was night, there was enough light to see clearly. It looked spectacular.
“Oh my…..wow!” I gasped.
Valerie
(Changing the POV, cause well I want to okay!)
Cyra seemed disturbed since I arrived. I don’t get why though. She seems like a nice girl but looks uneasy around me and D.
But when I opened the door, her face lit up and she gasped. She looked adorable! I saw Damon staring at her. He was smiling! That fucker barely ever smiles!
I gave him a smirk and when he noticed me, he quickly looked anywhere but us. I think I also saw him blush a little. Oh, I’m going to use this against him for a very long time!
“Come on in!” I took Cyra’s hand and led her inside.
She seemed lost in the beauty of the place. I can’t really blame her though, this place is truly spectacular.
“What is this place?” she asked.
“My great-grandmother’s husband gifted this to her in their time in hell. He was a very strong witch and made this on their anniversary. Only we know about it since they all crossed over. And now you do too,” I explained to her with a smile remembering her. She was an awesome lady.
(Ps: in case you’re wondering, people stay here to get punished for their deeds. But after some time, some of them cross over to heaven.)
“Wow, that’s amazing,” she whispered, still soaking the place.
“I’ll go get our tents from outside and set them up. Care to help anyone?” Damon asks.
None of us reply to him and he sighs taking the message.
“Okay, then,” he says and walks out.
“Does it go beyond the waterfall?” Cyra asks.
“Yes, there is a cave behind the waterfall. Nothing except that though, making this needed way too much magic as it is. Do you want to go there?” I ask and she nods happily.
I carefully led her there by jumping over some rocks. Then we walk inside the waterfall getting a little wet. The cave inside is worth it though.
“Wow, it’s amazing!” she gasps.
We both sit there quietly in comfortable silence.
“Valerie,” she says after some time.
“Hmm?” I ask.
“Is Damon….is he your boyfriend?” she whispers.
I stare at her for a good few seconds and she tenses. She bit her lip and hurt was evident on her face. After that, I burst out laughing.
“Me…Him….Boyfriend….” I said between my laughs. I calm myself down after a few seconds.
“No, we are not dating. Damon is way too young for me. You know I’m like a hundred years old, right? Not that I mind an age-gap romance, but I have a mate. We love each other way too much to cheat. Damon’s single and always has been. I don’t think he has ever even looked at a girl like that.” I answer.
Well, until now.
She visibly relaxes.
Are they mates? I think they are, but they don’t know it. Should I tell them? No, I shouldn’t. I’m pretty sure it’ll mess up the balance of mates or something. And anyway, it’s fun seeing them like this.
“So why did you call him baby?” she asks.
I smile at that remembering a memory.
“My mate hates that too! It’s like an inside joke. I met him when he was really small and helped him out with a mission. He was young and naïve. He didn’t know the ways of hell. I taught him all that, at least in the beginning that is. I called him baby because he looked like a really adorable baby when he was young and he used to get really annoyed when I called him that in his early teens. Now it’s just a habit.” I explained.
“Oh,” was all she answered.
“So, you like him, don’t you?” I asked.
She looked away from me and blushed. It was so cute.
“I guess I got my answer,” I smirked.
“No, Valerie…” she said but was cut off when Damon came in.
“What are you both talking about?” he said.
“Oh nothing, just girl stuff.” I winked at her and Damon eyed me suspiciously.
“Anyways, did you get the tent all set up my dear baby?” I asked.
“Oh please stop with that nickname already! I’m an adult for god sake!” He groaned.
I just smirked and walked out. I saw one tent set up there and got an idea. I turned towards them and gave them an innocent smile.
“Since we only have one tent and I’m really tired, I’m sleeping in there and you two love birds can sleep on the grass out here. Availuspresentus! Ps: You cannot go in the cave or outside or in the tent so enjoy sleeping together in the place which is an essence of love. Thank me later!” I said, walking inside the tent and leaving them stunned.
What? I can’t tell them, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun! Plus, I’m pretty sure they are mates; call it instinct, so I’m only helping an inevitable bond grow. I’m a matchmaker, and it feels great!
---------------------------------------------------------------
So, what do you think about Val? Is she really good or just a devil in disguise. Personally, even though I know what will happen, my overthinker ass still suspects her. Ps: This is not a spoiler or anything, I just overthink shit too much. What about you guys? What do you think? Also, do you think Cyra and Damon are mates? I mean it's pretty obvious but none of them actually feels the bond yet so anything can happen!
