That Day When I Got Married to My Boss at the Blind Date

Chapter 1255

The artwork’s theme was pastoral landscape painting. To highlight the interior design, the few designers made bold decisions in the architecture. A road teeming with flowers and plants was laid out in front of a row of village houses under the setting sun.

Bethany and her husband studied everyone’s painting for a while. When they reached Shirley, they even offered some personal guidance to enhance the richness of the architecture.

Finally, it was Josie’s turn. Everyone craned their necks, eagerly waiting to see how she would conclude the artwork.

She didn’t reach for the paintbrush. Instead, she walked over to where the flower baskets were displayed, snagged a stalk of wheat, and dipped it in paint of a similar color. With just a few strokes on the canvas, she managed to capture the image of wheat fields swaying in the breeze under the setting sun.

Bethany exchanged a glance with her husband, surprised by her skills.

Following that, Josie picked up the paintbrush. Bending over, she painted people chattering casually below the buildings.

In every intricately designed house was a unique tale-a newlywed couple, squabbling children, and elderly folks living in solitary. As she sketched them, she also incorporated her ideas into the other designs.

Her painting was mature and practiced. She didn’t look like a novice at all. Instead, she was more like a teacher grading an assignment.

As the final stroke fell, the entire painting suddenly brimmed with vitality as if it had come to life.

All the onlookers exclaimed in admiration, “This… truly requires skills!”

“Indeed. Although she didn’t add much to the architecture, every detail was meaningful.”

Even Bethany and her husband nodded fervently. “We have never seen this designer in Wavery.”

Josie was dressed in a pristine white gown, her face a picture of serene indifference. Standing before the landscape painting, she complemented it perfectly.

Shirley was so furious that she shook with rage. There was no need for comparison before everyone knew who was more outstanding. Josie! How could this be?

Just then, a round of applause rang out from the entrance. “As expected of you, Alice! You shine wherever you go!”

It was a cheerful and resonant female voice.

Hearing that, everyone present swung their gazes over to the sight of a mixed-heritage woman in a leather jacket and pants, exuding an air of sassiness.

It was none other than Vivian.

Only then did Josie smile, unaware of when she arrived.

“It’s Vivian! Vivian has arrived!”

Bethany were the first to react. “Alice? The Alice from Sumanthova is you?”

Since the woman was an elder, Josie nodded. “My Clusian name is Josie Warren.”

That single utterance caused several uproars, leaving the crowd in utter disbelief.

“Alice is Josie? My goodness, that’s a national- level expert. I heard she’s very young, and no one has ever seen her true countenance. How could she be Josie?”

“Josie… She was the member of the Olsen family who suffered a tragedy two years ago.”

“She has returned?”

Josie’s announcement of her return at such an event was undoubtedly sensational. At the very least, the social circle would buzz with gossip for the next month.

“The member of the Olsen family?” Bethany frowned, having mixed emotions.

Josie was reluctant to acknowledge her background and identity, but no matter what, her bloodline was undeniable. After nodding in admittance, she hastily went off the stage and approached Vivian. “Why have you only just arrived?”

Vivian scratched her nose lightly. “Wavery sure has a lot of rules. I was stopped by the traffic police several times just for riding a motorcycle.”

Josie embraced her. The two of them had known each other before they made a name for themselves. Now that they had attained success and fame, their contact had ironically reduced.

“Alice, I only came to attend this cocktail party because I heard you were back in the country.”

“Me, too.”

They looked at each other and shared a laugh. Suddenly, a voice rang out from the stage. “We’ve just been informed that a lady here lost a valuable bangle!”
