Taming Her Beastly Mate

The Lycan Princess Chapter 36

Since there were so many children, they decided it would be best to teleport the group back to the Diamond pack. Luckily, a few of the gods had the ability to mass teleport. The children handled it well, though the adults were very anxious about it. They brought back women, children, and a few adult men. Those men were found locked in the dark and used as slaves. They were drenched in their own filth and were slopped food like you would pigs. They were very skittish and would often flinch at sudden movements.

There was a lot of trauma that was deep-rooted, but they were now going to get the help they needed. When they arrived Wyatt and Freya had already organized everything. There were group homes for the adults without children and homes for the mothers with children. Every orphaned child had a home to be taken into. No siblings were separated. Every home had a therapist staying with them for the next couple of months. On top of that, everyone from the Children of the Moon had to attend therapy daily.

Colleen and her sister Minnie had a very happy reunion. They were the only ones left from their family. Their mother was killed shortly after Colleen left. She was blamed for the way her daughters turned out. Their brother was killed in combat but they were never close.

Colleen, Sully, and Kurt were doing amazing. They were now a marked and complete family. Yes, she still had her inner demons she faced, but she was now living her fantasy. A life she never thought she could ever have. When she struggled, Kurt was always there to help her through it. He was an amazing mate to Colleen and a wonderful father to Sully. Sam and Renee loved being grandparents and took their grandson often to give the new couple time to themselves.

Novalie had decided to stay in the Diamond pack. She would be going out with Sion soon to try to hunt down the few shrieks that alluded her. The dangerous intelligent ones. She was welcomed with open arms in the Diamond pack. However, just recently there was a big change. It turned out that her and Jamie were mates! Jamie was still young and the mate sense finally kicked in. Things were going well between the two of them. Jamie was younger than Novalie, but that didn’t matter. They had an instant connection, and Novalie felt like she had finally found her missing piece. Though she could go without him serenading Supernova Girl every morning.

It had been a month since the Children of the Moon battle, and everyone was settling into a routine. The little wild child had finally calmed down. He understood words and was working on his speech. The child’s parents were both dead and no one wanted to take in a child that wasn’t their own. Instead, he was thrown in a hole and treated like an unwanted animal. It had taken him a bit longer but he was adjusting nicely.

Everything was going great and tonight would be a big celebration. Aiden and Diana would begin their journey as acting King and Queen of the Diamond pack. They decided with her pregnancy it was time for the new couple to take over. Wyatt and Freya would be staying there and helping them. Besides, they wanted to be there to welcome their new grandchild. With Diana and Aiden taking over this would give them more freedom to travel so that they could also visit their other grandchildren more.

Almost all their family and friends were coming to the party. It was a rare moment when there was peace. Everything was quiet. Meryl had disappeared and for now… it was calm. No one knew how long this quiet would last so they were going to enjoy it while they could.

Aiden came down the stairs with his brows knitted together. He glanced around, scanning the area.

“What’s up Simba? Can’t wait to be king?” Jamie chuckled as he got up from the table with Novalie. Aiden snorted as he rolled his eyes.

“Where is Dee?” Aiden asked and watched as Jamie pressed his lips together in a thin line.

“She wanted to work out her nerves.” Novalie said, walking into the kitchen to pour the coffee.

Aiden’s nervous eyes flickered up at the door as he took a few steps towards it. A firm hand landed on his shoulder, and he turned partially around to see his father.

“She is perfectly fine, Aiden. Your mother is with her. Don’t worry, Freya will make sure she takes it easy. She was so upset at the time when Diana first discovered her skill because she knew she was pregnant.”

Aiden let out a deep breath, nodding his head in acknowledgement. “Yeah, I know. It’s just that…” he trailed off, the anxiety still lingering in his expression.

“It’s just that he is a nervous pup.” Jason said as he bounded down the stairs with Jin perched on his shoulders. “Don’t worry… we’ve all been there.” He chuckled as he reached up to pull Jin down. “Destiny and Harley have arrived. We are going out to see our little Blake.”

“What about Destiny?” Wyatt chuckled.

“After we see Blake.” Jin giggled as she grabbed Jason’s hand bouncing out of the house excitedly.

“She always has so much energy.” Kurt laughed as he bounced Sully in his arms.

“I blame it on all the chocolate she eats.” Wyatt chuckled as he looked around. “Where is Colleen?”

“She is in group therapy this morning. They are getting it done early because of the celebration.” Kurt said as he held up Sully babbling at him.

“It’s a rare moment when you have Sully to yourself.” Aiden said as Kurt snorted.

“I have to steal my own child away from my parents. Mom and Dad hog him.”

The door opened and Diana walked in with Freya right behind her.

“Dee!” Aiden sighed as he inspected her. He held up her hands and looked her whole body over, before pulling her tightly in his embrace.

“Aiden, I am fine.” She giggled as he made a pouting noise.

“Well I wasn’t. I woke up all alone. I was scared.” He teased.

“Great… I feel even better about the new King taking over.” Jamie coughed out with a wry grin.

Aiden chuckled and shook his head. “You’re lucky you’re my Gamma, Jamie. Otherwise, I might have to teach you a lesson,” he said, lifting his eyes up from Diana.

“We need to have another gaming night. Maybe Ike can join us… is Ike coming tonight?” Jamie looked at Diana who nodded her head.

“He wouldn’t miss it.” She said with a soft smile. Lycaon popped in an out periodically. While he wasn’t living there anymore she still got to see him frequently, so it was nice. Aiden and Lycaon were finally getting along well. They were now interacting just like Jamie and Kurt do with him.

“I think everyone is coming except for the dragons. They are having a special event for Bella and Brian. Luckily, Uncle Levi is still able to come.” Aiden said, as a portal suddenly opened in the middle of the living room. Aiden was instantly tackled by a man with blonde hair and brown eyes.

“My favorite puppy dog. I have missed you.” Jasper said as he wrestled with Aiden on the ground.

“Finally, he is mounting someone else for a change.” Terra grinned as Jasper began to choke on the air. Jamie began laughing so hard tears formed in his eyes as a man with green hair stepped through the portal.

“What? Mom and Pops are too good to greet me?” Justice turned, pouting to Nita, who was holding his hand.

“Your parents went outside to meet Destiny and Harley… actually I think they just wanted to see Blake.” Wyatt said as Justice turned his head to the door.

“Dibs on my nephew!” He yelled as he took off towards the door, pulling Nita with him.

“Some guardian you have Luce.” Aba snorted as he stepped through the portal with Lucy and Derek. Each of them was holding one of the twin girls.

“Hand them over!” Freya said, reaching out to Lucy.

“This one is Elena,” Lucy said as she eased the little bundle into her mother’s arms.

“How are they letting you sleep?” Wyatt asked as he plucked Lenore out of Derek’s arms, cradling the infant to his chest.

“They are doing better. We learned just to let them sleep together. We tried separating them into two different cribs but they inevitably end up in the same crib at some point.” Derek said as he took Lucy into his arms.

“What do you mean?” Aiden asked as he shoved Jasper to the side to walk over to see his nieces.

“They teleport or something to the other.” Lucy shrugged slightly. “We aren’t exactly sure how they do it. It is very interesting magic that they shouldn’t have so young. What no hug for me?” She teased as Aiden laughed. He walked over, lifting her up as he hugged her.

“I’ve missed you Luce Luce.”

“I’ve missed you too. I hear I am going to be an aunt soon?” She said, looking over at Diana. She had not gotten the chance to get to know her sister-in-law but Aiden looked happy, which was the important part. “How is the pregnancy?”

“I feel great. It’s Aiden I am worried about.” Diana laughed as she stepped into his side.

“I think my feet are more swollen than usual.” Aiden chuckled as Diana swatted at him. He caught her hand and lifted her fingers up to his lips where he gently placed a k**s. He smiled and then leaned towards her to brush his lips over her forehead. “I can’t help but worry. It’s mind boggling how your life can change so quickly. How all of a sudden your world begins to spin in a different direction and all for your mate. You are my happiness. So let me worry about what makes me happy.”

“Awe, my brother is completely smitten, isn’t he adorable.” Lucy said, feeling Derek rub his nose in her hair.

“I know exactly how he feels.”

“Snow!” They heard children yelling outside.

“Lex!” Lucy squealed and sprinted outside, followed by the others.

Outside there was a big patch of land filled with white fluffy snow. Children were already throwing snowballs and building snowmen. Watching the children play was Alexis, Aken, Micah, and Brandy.

“Lex!” Lucy squealed as the two women grabbed each other’s hands in excitement.

“Elena and Lenore?” Alexis asked and Lucy giggled.

“Mom and dad.”

“How are you? How is being a momma?” Alexis asked, listening as Lucy babbled on in excitement. Ever since her premonition, her and Aken had been actively trying to conceive but hadn’t had any luck. The premonition made her excited for her future daughter, but it must not be time to have her yet. In the meantime, it did give her and Aken time for themselves.

“Mikey!” Jasper said, lifting his hand up for a high five.

“Sup, Casper.” Micah said as the two men talked about their mates.

“Let’s get the party started.” Cody yelled as he stepped through a portal with Kelsie at his side. Kade, Rosa, Caleb, Avery, Cedric, Merida, Tristan, Lilly, Tyler, Rhea holding Beryl, and Levi all followed behind him. “Now it’s a party.”

“Cassie…” Tristan stopped and reached back to the elven woman behind him. “I know not everyone has met my person yet. This is Cassie.”

“Cassie is Sassy.” Cody chuckled as Tristan rolled his eyes.

“Is that Cody causing trouble?!” Jason beamed, carrying Blake in his arms.

“As if he can cause trouble.” Tristan snorted. “He is still a cub.”

“Not to brag or anything but to brag… I am the one who took out three hellhounds… all… by…myself.” Micah beamed as he looked over at Brandy grinning proudly when suddenly several snowballs slammed into his face. He turned to see Cody, Tristan and Justice holding more snowballs in their hands. Jason was handing Blake over to Jin so that he could join in too.

“You guys don’t really want a piece of this. You are going to be so embarrassed when I beat all of you.” Micah cracked his neck as he turned to face them.

“Sion, look at the snow!” Clover yelled as she reached down to touch it.

“Clover, you made it!” Diana squealed.

“We wouldn’t miss it for the world. Right Sion?” Clover looked up at her mate’s hazel eyes as he nodded with a smile.

“One of the best ways to get to know the future in-laws.” Sion said, winking at Aiden.

“Don’t judge me based on the rest of them.” He pointed his fingers back at his family and was clobbered by snow. “Oh, I see how it is.” Aiden reached into the cold white powder, and he narrowed his eyes. “Surrender or else.”

“Aiden… you know what happened to Mufasa, right? Let’s not have a repeat.” Jamie grinned as Kurt smacked him behind the head.

“Mufasa was run over by wildebeests, not killed by snowballs.”

“He ended up dead though. That was the point I was making.” Jamie defended himself as he glanced up with a smile. “You get it right Ike?!”

The red hair of the god flowed in the wind as he hovered above them. A smile spread across his lips. “Who is Mufasa?” He lowered to the ground, nodding his head to Aken and Levi.

“Have you heard from Shiva and Reapus?” Levi asked.

“They are still hunting for Raven. I think Rogio has been checking with his contacts for information.” Lycaon said as Alexis spoke up.

“What about Gaia?” She asked and he shrugged.

“I haven’t seen her since we dropped all the children off here.” He looked at Alexis curiously before turning his attention back to Diana. “I am very proud of you. You will be an amazing queen and I guess that mate of yours will make a good king as well.”

“Well how about helping your lycan out? He is a bit outnumbered.” Aiden said as he dodged incoming snowballs.

“Why not?” Lycaon grinned as Aken cleared his throat.

“Of course, that wouldn’t be quite fair now, would it? I’ll join the other team.” Aken raised his brows in a playful challenge as he stood at the other end of the snowy field.

“Rhea?” Levi asked as she smiled at him.

“You aren’t going to let them show you up are you?” She batted her eyelashes at him as he chuckled.

“I’ll win for you, my fairy.” Levi said, kissing her nose lightly. “My fairy wishes for me to fight. You are all dead.”

“You are out of your league Toothless.” Aken smirked as he gathered together a large snowball.

“Teams of three?” Lycaon tilted his head to the side as everyone scattered to join a team.

Lilly and Tyler took Lenore and Elena to the tree swing where they could watch the fun but not get hit with anything. Lilly cuddled Lenore against her chest as she cooed down at her.

“Just look, Lills.” Tyler smiled as he gazed in front of him. “Look at our family. All because you had enough love and patience to put up with me.”

“We grew together, Ty. So has our love… and our family.”

“And they say rabbits are bad…” Kade teased as he took a seat next to them. Rosa, who was holding Beryl, sitting beside him.

“The pack has come a long way.” Caleb looked at Avery, who was cooing to Blake.

“It is hard to believe that… this was us. Each generation they keep getting stronger but still act like us.” Cedric chuckled as he pulled Merida to his side.

“It’s hard to believe it all started with a tiny little blonde headed woman who wore a necklace hiding her powers.” Kade looked up at the tiny guardian Aba. “And even harder to believe that is who you were hiding from.”

“I went from being someone isolated in her pack to all of this. My family is bigger than I could have ever imagined. And I found all of my people.” Lilly smiled as a familiar scent hit her nose.

“That is something that would never happen today.” The voice said and Lilly stood up quickly.

“Aaron!” She squealed like a kid. “I didn’t know you were coming.” Her brother wrapped his arm around her, being careful not to crush the baby.

“We wouldn’t have missed it for the world.” Another voice said.

“Mattie! It’s been ages.” Lilly felt the tears in her eyes as she hugged her brother’s beta.

“How are Cadence and Nikki?” Lilly asked as Tyler stepped next to her. Cadence was her brother’s Mate and Nikki was Mattie’s. At the time, he had some trust issues trusting the mate sense because of things that had happened. Finally, he accepted Nikki, who has been great for him.

“They are good. Cadence is watching our grandson while Ace prepares for him to take over the Silver Moon pack.” Aaron said as Mattie spoke up.

“Nikki is visiting our daughter’s pack. It’s hard when they don’t remain in the same pack, but we visit often.”

“We understand that.” Tyler nodded, looking over at everyone playing in the snow. “But it sure makes reunions like this worth it.”

“Adam, Winston, and Sam have joined in the fight… should we?” Caleb winked over at Kade who chuckled.

“Why not? We are still in our prime. What about you Ty, or are you too old?” Cedric grinned as he listened to the rich deep chuckle from Tyler.

“Merida, take Elena. I’m going to have to show them why I was the former Alpha of the Diamond pack.” Tyler handed the baby to the woman and then winked at Lilly. “Come on, Aaron and Mattie. You might as well join in on this too.”

Lilly shook her head and laughed. Man boys. They would always be man boys no matter how old they were. She smiled as she watched them. So much has changed but yet some things have remained the same. The strength and love of their family remained no matter how much they aged and the world changed. It was a constant in her life… just like the moon that orbited the earth. It was always there shining brightly… and so was their love.

Aiden grabbed Diana’s waist and pulled her into his front using his back as a shield to protect her.

“Aiden.” Diana laughed as his nose brushed over her face.

“My Queen… I have to protect you.”

“But my King, I am too busy protecting you.” She batted her eyelashes at him as he pressed light feathery k****s on her face.

“I’ll cover you now… and you can cover me tonight.” He nipped at her bottom l*p as he gazed into her silver eyes.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her body closer to his. They were lost in their own world, the sounds of the snowball fight fading in the background. His lips captured hers as he held her tight. This was not how she expected her life to turn out. She had been through so much pain and heartache. At one point, she thought she would never want to be in love again. Aiden captured her heart with his sweet, gentle, and patient love. It was never forceful or overbearing. His love was like a gentle breeze that softly embraced her. It carried her when she needed to be lifted up and was a constant presence that she needed.

That night they were declared the Lycan King and Lycan Queen. The rulers of the lycans and the werewolves. They celebrated with their loved ones and then later that night they celebrated together.

Aiden and Diana lay tangled up in each other’s arms, their naked bodies pressed together. The scent of their lovemaking hung thick in the air, filling the room with its heady aroma.

Aiden trailed his fingers down the curve of Diana’s spine, his touch soft and gentle. He pressed a k**s to her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment before he whispered, “I never knew love could be like this.”

Diana smiled, her eyes closed in contentment. “Neither did I,” she said. “But I’m so glad it is.”

“I can’t imagine my life without you now. You complete me in ways that I never thought possible. “I love you, my Queen,” he murmured, nuzzling his nose into her hair.

“I love you too, my King.”

Diana felt her heart swell as she laid next to her mate. She had never thought that she could be so happy. But with Aiden, everything seemed possible. He pressed his hand gently against her stomach, feeling the warmth of her body and the life growing inside. With a deep k**s, he cherished her with a passion that seemed to burn through them, searing every inch of their being together until they became one in that moment. Exhaustion felt like a storm rolling over them as they melted into one another’s arms, eyes closing just enough to drift off into peaceful sleep.

The moon glowed brightly as it shined through their window. Another piece of the intricate puzzle had come together for what lies ahead. Aiden and Diana’s love was a beacon of hope and strength in the dark. They had no idea just how important their descendants’ role would be in saving the earth. A flicker of light in the darkest of nights. A hope… a wish… a dream… for the future.
