Chapter 693 A Deal
Charles didn't like the term Nancy used. But since she said it so seriously, it sounded as if there was really a deal between them.
"Nancy, you're really good at this. I have to agree." After saying that, Charles scooped her effortlessly, showcasing his chiseled arms. "So, you have to work hard. As a businessman, I only go for good deals!" "What are you doing, Charles?" Watching him slowly lose control and turn savage, Nancy flinched, but his arms were wrapped too tight around her.
"I have agreed to your 'deal.' Aren't you happy that I will fulfill your wish now?" Charles retorted with a sinister smile.
At this point, a surge of fear enveloped Nancy. In fact, every time Charles went crazy with his desires, she would be panic-stricken.
"Let's forget about the deal, alright? I don't care about Fannie's life. She deserves it. Just let me go. I regret saying it."
"What a pity! It's too late for you to regret it now!"
"Charles, let go of me. You can't force me. I don't want to. If you continue to force me, I'll call the police!" Nancy shouted incoherently. Her eyes were filled with so much apprehension as she eyed him. "Well, let's see if you can call the police tonight!" With those words, Charles ravaged her, and the two spent the entire night putting off the steam of their desire.
The next day was Saturday, and since it was the weekend, Nancy didn't get up early.
'Alas, my waist and back are sore. Even my legs are still jelly!
Charles is really a demon when he loses his mind.
He didn't care about my feelings at all!
My body is aching all over! Damn him!' she cursed, struggling to lift herself from the mattress.
Suddenly, she heard sounds of laughter resonating from the courtyard. Curious as to whoever it was, she walked closer to the window while holding her waist for support.
There she saw Bobby and Nadia standing behind Charles, posing as if they were ready to fight. Charles was evidently teaching them boxing.
And when they began jabbing their hands in the air, Nancy couldn't help but smile at how adorable her kids were.
The morning sunshine had begun to shower light on the garden. Although it was a little cold, the moist had bolstered the plums' blossoming, giving more life to the backyard. Everything from the kids' laughter to the blooming of the flower-was just too peaceful. Unfortunately, Nancy blankly stared through the windowpane, slightly bemused. For a while, she watched quietly and then realized that she had to go to the hospital to accompany her mother today.
So, Nancy went downstairs in a hurry to the kitchen to make breakfast.
She took out her phone and searched for a quick breakfast to cook.
And from time to time, as she cooked, the children's cheers resounded from the garden.
Wearing a down jacket, Nancy stood under the porch and said, "It's time for breakfast, you guys."
At the same time, Charles stood under the morning light with his broad back facing Nancy. He sported a pure white cotton sportswear, while the kids wore yellow onesies. As soon as they heard Nancy's voice, the three people turned around at the same time.
"Mommy, we still want to play," Bobby and Nadia said in unison, slightly pouting.
"I'm going to the sanatorium to keep Grandma company today. If you don't come and eat breakfast, I'll eat by myself. I won't wait for you!" shouted Nancy.
"Kids, let's go back. Well exercise again tomorrow morning!" Charles reassured and held Nadia's hand.
"Well, Daddy, we can also go to the sanatorium to visit Grandma, right?" Bobby raised his little head and asked innocently.
"Of course!" Smiling, Charles led the children to Nancy, holding both on each hand.
His bright smile, amplified by the morning glory of sunlight, was even more beautiful than the winter sunshine.
It was so enchanting that Nancy stared at him in utter awe, even forgetting that she had to hurry and prepare to leave for her errands.
It was until Charles, and the kids stood in front of her that she was sent back to her senses.
"What's the matter? Don't you feel cold standing here? Why don't you go in?" Charles asked after he was face to face with her.
Meanwhile, Nancy felt a little confused with her feelings. It was only yesterday when Charles had troubled her like a wild beast, but now she suddenly saw him in a different light, as a beautiful creature rather. Was it because they had been in a cold war for too long that she finally wanted to give in?
Or was she still so caught up in his enchanting look last night?
Why are women and their feelings so complicated?
"I'm waiting for the kids," Nancy said in a panic, trying to get herself together. "You went out early in the morning. What if you catch a cold?"
In an attempt to hide her frenzy, she diverted the topic and met his gaze.
"Daddy said that only when we do morning exercises can we be healthy and won't catch a cold!" Nadia, who was still holding her father's hand, answered cutely.
"Yes, Mommy. Look, my arms are full of muscles now!" Bobby said proudly and flexed his arms in front of Nancy.
"Well, muscles... Ha-ha! Honey, Mommy cooked some chicken drumsticks. You will be fine after eating a lot. Come on, let's go!" Nancy said disapprovingly and ushered the kids to the dining room. Taking a step forward, Charles uttered, "It's a good thing that children like to exercise. You can't prohibit them."
"Well, I just said it casually. Don't make it such a big deal," replied Nancy in a low voice.
"When did you become so casual?"
"Well, I have always been very serious. Come on! Let's just have breakfast!" After saying that, Nancy turned around and stormed towards the dining room. Meanwhile, Charles followed behind, smiling helplessly.
He knew that women could be very stubborn as bulls sometimes. No matter what he would say to Nancy, she would always have something to retort back.
After breakfast, Nancy prepared the things she would bring to her mother while the kids insisted on coming with her. And because they were very persistent, she finally agreed to tag them along.
It was such a great decision as Jade automatically lightened up when she saw her daughter and grandchildren.
When Jade was in the operating room, Charles, Nancy, and the children patiently waited outside.
In fact, those who passed by the hall and saw the four outside thought that they were such a happy family.
"There are rumors about Mr. Fu and Director Nancy, but they seem to love each other very much, don't they?"
"Don't mind those rumors. You should read less gossip in the future. What you see is the truth,"
a nurse, who was watching them from a distance, said.
"Yes, I'm a little jealous to see Mr. Fu, Director Nancy, and the children together! They look so beautiful together."
The nurse's voice was loud enough for Charles to hear it.
Charles slightly curved his lips. He obviously liked the attention they were getting.
It was not that he basked in the glory of being in the spotlight. In fact, all he wanted was to live a simple, happy life with Nancy and the kids. But once in a while, he liked it when people talked about how much he and Nancy loved each other.
So, feeling ecstatic, he looked at Nancy and flashed him a smile, making the woman a little uncomfortable.
Just as she was about to say something to break the eerie atmosphere, her phone rang.
"Nancy, a day has passed. Why isn't Fannie's case settled yet? Why hasn't she come back yet?" Jill's anxious voice resounded from the other line.
She didn't even bother to greet her stepdaughter before jumping into that problem. Perhaps it was due to her exhaustion from waiting for her daughter all day.
"Don't worry about it. Just give me a little more time." Nancy glanced at Charles while she said that in a cautious tone.
"Nancy, are you delaying it on purpose? You're trying to plot revenge on us, aren't you? You are happy to see Fannie in the police station?" Jill was furious. After all, she knew that the police would release Fannie in a blink of an eye the moment Charles commanded it.
