Chapter 701
Chapter 791
“I’m done. I’m totally done for this time,” Cody thought.
Not only was his plan a failure, the higher–ups kept pressuring him to resign. He was backed into a corner, not knowing how to
turn the tables.
“Kevan Rogers
He gritted his teeth as anger surged in full swing. “It’s all because of you. It’s all your fault it’s all because of you!”
He kicked his desk, and the chair rolled backward as a result of inertia until it hit the bookshell.
He almost fell onto the floor. Furious, he smashed the chair as well. The office turned into a mess with nowhere to walk around.
With reddered eyes, he took his phone out of his pocket.
“Edmund, could you help me for the one last time?” He humbled himsell, unlike the pres dent of a company.
Ever since his father was arrested, the only person he could rely on was Edmund
Still he didn’t want to admit the fact that Edmund was better at business management than him. The Regal Dynasty Hotel, a
subsidiary of Soaring Corporation, was amongst the few prolitable companies.
“Filty million. That’s all I need. I swear!”
To his dismay, Fo mund’s indifferent voice resounded, “I don’t have that much money.
“Cody, the Regal Dynasty Hotel isn’t your personal fund. I’ve done everything I could. I haven’t replenished the public money I
used before this. If you keep acting like this, once the BCD finds out we’ll get fired for sure.”
*Edmund, are you going to watch those weasels drive me to the edge?” Cody retorted. “I think I’ve helped you a lot while I have
been managing Soaring Corporation all these years. Now that I’m in trouble, are you going to abandon me?”
“Cody, there’s nothing I can do about it. Stop calling me. I can’t be of help.” Edmund lerminated the call
‘Edmund, Edmund! Hey, hey!” Cody’s phone screen returned to its home screen as frustration bubbled in his head.
Right when he was going to throw his phone, he hated and dialed a number. His expression was a cruel one. “This time, your
target is Kevan Rogers.”
The plane landed. Since she spent the night sleepless, a spasm of dizziness hit her as she almost fell down the stairs.
Fortunately, Lewis managed to pull her with quick hands to avoid tragedy.
“Are you alright?” He observed her complexion worriedly. Her eyebags made his heart sink.
He comforted her, “Mr. Rogers will take care of it.”
“I know.” She believed in Kevan’s capabilities, but she couldn’t help the fear.
Kevan was their target, whereas he was oblivious to their identity. Even if he was a formidable individual, he might not be able to
get through it uninjured.
“If he’s in trouble The mere thought of that made her hands shake.
“Lew’s, I’m not going to the hospital” she suddenly announced. “Take me to my father.”
Lewis‘ eyes widened in surprise. “What if he finds out?
As much as Gray cared for Larissa, he would get to the bottom of it the moment he saw the new bandage around her hand.
When that happened. Lewis would not be able to help her keep it a secret.
“Worry not.” Her eyes showed determination. “I’m going to be honest with him.”
