Chapter 663
Chapter 663
Kevan’s home was only a few minutes’ drive away from Winston Hotel He dragged things out on the road for a bit because he
was leeling nervous. He only drove into Winston Hotel’s parking lot after feeling less nervous. However, when he entered the
hotel lobby, his heart was pounding.
Sticking his hands in his pockets. Kevan rejected the lobby manager’s friendly greeting, waiting by himself on the sofa reserved
for guests to rest. He picked a spot that gave him the best view. He could see all guests that came out of the elevators and
escalators from his angle.
Playing the waiting game was not the easiest thing in the world, especially for Kevan as he was now. His hands were already
sweating, and the muscles of his crossed legs were so taut beneath his trousers that one could see them through the fabric.
As time passed, more people began to come downstairs.
Every time the elevator stopped on the first floor, Kevan would straighten up to carefully identify each person. He did not even
dare lo blink.
A long time passed by-it felt like a century had passed-before Kevan finally found two familiar faces in the crowd.
Kevan stood up at once, but he hesitated a little when he walked towards them, which was rare for him, But he walked over to
them
anyway.
Lewis saw him before Larissa did. He stopped with a look of surprise on his face. “Mr. Rogers?”
Larissa turned around too. When she saw Kevan, her expression stiffened at once, and the look in her eyes became
complicated.
This reaction...
Kevan held his breath, and his chest felt suffocated. His heart began to beat faster and faster.
“Moming.” He forced out a little smile.
“Morning.” Lewis was the one who responded, “Was there something important you needed. Mr. Rogers, to have waited here so
early in
the day?”
Naturally, there were no important things, but Kevan could not tell the truth. Otherwise, his “stalking” ways would scare the
others. So, he said. “I just happened to pass by the hotel on the way to work. I recall Dylan saying that he met you last night so I
came in here to try my luck.” His face did not change, so it was hard for anyone to tell if he was lying or telling the truth.
Lewis joked with him. “So, do you think it’s lucky to have met us or not?”
Kevan did not hesitate. “Of course, it’s lucky.” It was extremely lucky for him.
“Where are you going now?” He led the conversation.
“The hospital,” Lewis replied.
Kevan’s gaze automatically moved to Larissa’s leg. “What happened to you?” The concem in his eyes was not fake, but when
Larissa thought of the things he faked, she could not be nice to him, Pressing her lips tightly together, Larissa locked elsewhere,
refusing to look at him at all. Forget even bothering to answer him.
Her rejection was so obvious that Kevan could not ignore it. It meant that he could not lie to himself either. His heart sank at
once, and he
clenched his fists tightly.
“It’s not related to Lari.” Lewis’ answer broke through the awkward silence. “We came back to deal with Yvette’s funeral
arrangements. She’s still at the hospital so we have to get her out and have her cremated.”
Xavier and Lana were now both in prison, and Yvette had broken off contact with her own family. The hospital somehow found
out about Larissa’s connection with Yvette and finally managed to call Larissa two days ago after going through various
channels.
