Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 607

“Yvette’s in the ward next door. And Kenneth said that he can’t bear to stay in Cosmic any longer,” Dylan sighed softly.
These two things did not affect Kevan too much. “What happened to them?” he asked with a frown.
“Yvette went to Cosmic to cause trouble today. Ker neth tried to stop her a bil, and she slapped him. After that, Xavier beal the sh
it out of her, so she ended up getting hospitalized. It seems to be pretty bad.” The moment he heard that Yvette was hospitalized,
Dylan
immediately got someone to find out what had happened. But because their plant, Kenneth, had left Cosmic in advance, no one
could get a precise result but only a speculated one.
“Yvette still hasn’t woken up. The police came once in the afternoon, and they left without getting any info.”
With how severely injured Yvette was, she could not threaten Larissa’s safety. The alarm in Kevan’s heart vanished at once, and
he relaxed. “I will have someone keep an eye on the ward next door.” He would be able to know firsthand if anything changed.
“You don’t
have to worry too much.” He comforted Larissa, Gary, and Lewis.
“What’s the point of having someone keep an eye on things?” Gary scoffed at his words. “You had someone keep an eye on
Larissa too
then, but she still get sent into the hospital by that p sycho!”
This was one of Kevan’s deepest scars in his heart, and a memory that he refused to recall the most out of the rest. The light in
his eyes faded away as he apologized hoa rsely to Larissa. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault, what is there for you to be sorry for?” Larissa gently held his hand, a warm smile on her lace. Her voice was
light and comforting. “My dad’s just worried and using you as a punching bag! Don’t fuss with him over this.”
The soft flesh of her palm was nestled close to his. Kevan’s heart stuttered suddenly as his fingers gradually closed around her
hand. wrapping it safely in his own large one. He hummed salty in response, and his voice was just as airy as his excited mood.
Gary’s reaction was the exact opposite of his.
Seeing his uncle’s livid face. Lewis quickly spoke up to smooth things over. “I will keep an eye on Yvette’s ward too. If anything
happens, I transfer Lari out of here at once.” Since Larissa could get out of bed now, transferring her became an easy task. If it

was necessary. he could even lake her back to Aldovia directly for treatment.
“Transfer her tomorrow,” Gary spoke, his attitude unyielding and firm. He was unwiling to take that risk, no matter how small it
was. He did not wish to experience the same pain as before. ‘It’s time for us to go back too.”
The other three in the ward were shocked by his words.
“Go back where? Aldovia? Larissa asked. She looked at Kevan subconsciously, her heart filled with a somewhat inexplicable
mess of
panic and reluctance.
Kevan felt the same way.
“If you want to transfer her to another hospital, there are many other top-tier hospitals in Barlham. If you want privacy, there are
some good private hospitals. It’s not necessary for you to go back to Aldovia for treatment. Besides, Larissa has not healed yet
ard she shouldn’t be going through a long-term journey. It will increase the chances of her getting hurt again.” It was rare for him
to say so much at once, and the speed of his speech was so fast that he did not even notice.
Dylan continued his words and said, “I have a friend who established his own hospital. A good deal of wealthy people get their
treatment from there. If you want, I can have him get a ward ready for Larissa.”
“No need. Gary had already made up his mind. “It’s too dangerous to stay in Bartham. My influence is not here, so I cannot
ensure Larl’s safely completely.”
Yvette’s hospitalization was not the only reason that made him want to leave, Xavier and Cody were licking time bombs for
Larissa too. Gary knew that they did not have much time left before those two bombs exploded.
“Besides, you can only carry out your plans wilhgul distraction when I lake Lail away.”
