Chapter 81
Chapter 81
Glancing at him, Zero’s assistant silently moved aside.
Kevan, on the other hand, ignored him, his gaze lixed on the computer screen.
After Larissa showed the document, she put it away.
“Alright, let’s get down to business.
“What Ms. Levange said about me being childfree is true, but I will not be explaining why due to personal reasons. I can only say
that it’s definitely not what Ms. Levange and her son, Mr. Travis Hardy, think.
“Mr. Hardy knew from the start that I did not want children. He also said that he did not mind, and that was only when I decided to
be with him. He also promised me that he will try to convince his parents, but he never fulfilled it. When we went back for the new
year celebrations, I was still pushed by his parents to get pregnant. Ms. Levange’s supposed ‘take me to the hospital for a
checkup‘ was actually a visit to a folk healer in their town. As for the word ‘psycho‘, I have never said such a thing.
“After the celebrations, we returned to Covenford, and Ms. Levange never called me–or rather, she had never called me before
Mr. Hardy’s accident. If there was anything, she always called her son first, and Mr. Hardy never told me what she had said on
the phone.
“It’s true that Mr. Hardy had gotten into an accident the month before, but Ms. Levange seems afraid of sharing the truth behind
the accident.”
Larissa smiled coldly.
“Mr. Hardy had already started cheating on me last year by having an affair with a female subordinate of his. She even got
pregnant with his child. Their affair lasted for more than half a year, and I’ve only found out about it since.
“To prove that I’m not lying. I’ve brought another subordinate of Mr. Hardy’s-” She glanced out of the window of the livestream
room, which was connected to the meeting room. Travis and Amber’s colleague–also the same person who apologized to her
sincerely on WhatsApp, Daniel Bailey, got the hint and entered the
livestream room.
Zero gave Daniel the other chair. As he was unused to this sort of environment, Daniel’s smile was a bit
awkward.
“Hi, I’m Daniel Bailey from Aero Finance’s technological department.” He took out the work ID tag he had kept in his pocket and
showed it to the camera. “Travis Hardy is our department head and is also my direct supervisor. Amber Fox is my former
colleague. I promise that what I’m saying next is the truth.
“The head and Amber did get together at the end of last year. Almost everyone in our department knew about it. After Amber got
pregnant, we witnessed the head’s care and love for her, and when Larissa found out about their affair, Amber quit her job to
take care of the baby. We lost contact with her after that.
“When we heard of her again, it was alter the head’s car accident. And that wasn’t an accident but a deliberate act. The person
who ran the head over was Amber. The Covenford Police Department’s Twitter should still have the report about that car
accident. If you don’t believe me, you can check and see for yourself.”
Daniel’s statement ended here.
Larissa picked up after him and said, “The truth is, I already prepared to divorce Mr. Hardy before this accident. It’s just that the
terms had not been settled, so the divorce was dragged out and we never went through the procedure. We’re currently living
separately from each other, and other than speaking about the divorce, we have had no contact. I was never notified about
Travis‘ accident either, so naturally I would not have visited or taken care of him.
“Of course, I’m not afraid of people criticizing me. So, I’ll put it out here–even if I knew about it, I would never visit him at the
hospital. When Mr. Hardy was still in the ICU, Ms. Levange came to seek me out once. She only said that Mr. Hardy was
seriously hurt and in critical condition, and that a hefty medical fee must be paid for. She forced me to pay the money for Mr.
Hardy. Here is the credit note written by her hand, a total of thirty thousand dollars.”
Larissa showed the credit note to the camera. “Please take a good look at the signature and date. If Ms. Levange has any
objections, feel free to confront me.
“This is only the first time that Ms. Levange has come to me for money–Why she did that, I’ll tell everyone at the end.
“After that, Ms. Levange waited for me at the hotel because she wanted money from me too. As she said, I’ve been slipping out
the back door to avoid her. But when she had a fever from the rain and collapsed at the hotel, I was the one who sent her to the
hospital.”
