Chapter 3 Romantic Encounter
Christy saw this and was about to dodge. A slender arm pulled her backward and a handsomely straight figure stepped in front of her, catching the cup thrown by Thelma.
The next second, the man's eyes froze, throwing the cup back.
"Ah..."
It was a mystery how the man did it, but when the cup was thrown back, the cup and its lid separated, hitting at Osborne and Thelma respectively. As a result, both Thelma and Osborne were hit at the same time.
Thelma covered her forehead and screamed, so did Osborne.
Christy reacted soon when she saw this and was shocked.
The man was exactly Enrique. He didn't wait until Osborne and Thelma saw his appearance. He simply dragged Christy away.
When the two men in suit outside the door saw Enrique come out with his hand holding Christy's, they were startled, as if they just saw an UFO.
After coming out, Enrique held Christy's hand and kept moving forward, while the latter was still in a daze.
The two men in suit behind them made surprised sounds.
The man called Clifton Ferguson touched the other man's shoulder and said, "Boone, do you see that? Hand in hand."
The other man named Boone Dixon looked expressionless and said coldly, "I believed foxy eyes can see better than tiny eyes. "Screw you. Who do you say have tiny eyes?"
"Whoever answers me."
"Damn, Boone. Tiny eyes can see the essence of this world. That woman is the first one who Mr. Terrell holds hand with."
This was the first time for their boss to have physical contact with a woman that had no biological relation to him. Was this still the same Mr. Terrell who would never be moved by any woman and repulse any woman's charms?
While they were debating, Enrique had already let go of Christy.
Christy, who finally recovered, saw that the man who helped her. She was a little surprised, then she said thankfully, "Thank you for helping me just now."
When she was talking to Enrique, her phone rang twice. It was the message sent by her best friend Juana Reid.
At the sight of the message, her expression changed slightly. She looked at Enrique hurriedly and said, "I am sorry. I still have some emergent business to deal with. I gotta go first."
With that, she turned around and left in a hurry.
Clifton came over and asked Enrique in confusion, "Mr. Terrell, who is that woman? Why did you help her?"
Enrique glanced at Clifton with his sharp and deep eyes. The aura of a king emanated from Enrique, "Do I need to explain to you?"
Clifton immediately lowered his head after seeing Enrique's unpleasant look, "No, sir. No."
Three days later. At night, in the Splendid Bar.
"Christy. Listen, I have been playing you all along. I have never truly loved you since the beginning. The person I love is your cousin Thelma."
The icy cold and heartless words of her fiancé three days ago were still reverberating next to her ears. Christy's almond-shaped eyes reddened a bit and were covered with a crystal mist of tears. She was sad because of Osborne's betrayal, but because of herself.
She had loved a man with every fibre of her being, but in the end, the man hurt her, betrayed her and humiliated her in such a cruel and merciless fashion. She told herself that she would not love any man truly in the future.
If Osborne was not the person who saved her eight years ago, she wouldn't agree to marry him so easily.
Today was her first time to be in a bar and she was brought here by her classmates.
Juana, who sat next to Christy, realized there was something wrong with the latter's emotion. Juana asked worriedly, "Christy, what's the problem?"
Christy took a deep breath and shook her head with a smile, "I am fine."
She didn't like to spill out her unhappiness on people around her. None of her classmates knew that Osborne was her fiancé before.
"Christy, what is on your mind? Don't be so sad. Come, have a drink." Carlos Butler grabbed a bottle of beer for Christy.☐☐☐☐☐☐
