Supernaturals: Legends of Iris.

Chapter Thirty six.

Iris's POV.

" Who do you think helped Carl escape?" I asked Seb and Shirley as I paced round the arena. It was still school hours so the guardians weren't here.

" I could be anybody. I have no idea." Seb replied

" But if a magician helped Carl then that means he's good and he is like us." Shirley added.

" Where would they have taken him?"

" He said he was tortured in the dungeon which means it's a castle. And the only magicians that live in or near the castle are those serving under ' The Great Leader'." Seb said and I sighed.

" What are we going to do?" I asked and they shrugged.

" Send for Carl."

A few minutes later, Carl came into the arena escorted by his guards.

" Iris." He greeted bowing and I rolled my eyes.

" Excuse us." I said to the guards. They bowed and left the arena.

" You were taken to a castle weren't you?" Seb asked him and he nodded in response.

" The magician who saved you, how did he look like?" Shirley questioned.

" He had brown hair and green eyes and he also had a slight Australian accent."

" Did he tell you his name?" I asked and he nodded.

" His name is Carmen."

Seb and Shirley exchanged looks.

" You don't think-"

" It's him."

" What?, It's who?" I asked.

" Carmen Sydney. He's an Australian high ranking officer."

" Why would he then turn on his people?"

" Not everyone was as open about their opinions like we were. Some people disagreed but they never said or did anything about it." Seb explained.

" You're excused." I said to Carl and he bowed before turning to leave.

" Wait!" Shirley exclaimed and he paused.

She moved closer to him and stared at his neck.

" Take off your shirt."

Seb and I exchanged glances and then looked at Shirley.

" Uh, Shirley-"

" Shut up Seb. Take it off Carl."

Carl looked at me with a horrified look on his face and I shrugged.

" Do it."

He looked very uncomfortable as he took his shirt off. He took it off and we saw writings on his back.

" What?!" I exclaimed in confusion.

" How did it last so long?, What did they write with, a permanent marker?"

" Invisio ink." Seb breathed.

" What's that?"

" It's something magicians use in sending secret messages. It is invisible to everyone else except the intended recipient. It doesn't fade until the recipient receives the message." Shirley explained.

" It's just a bunch of numbers." Seb said furrowing his eyebrows.

" No." I stated.

" They're coordinates. Shirley I want you to get the Elders, Mr T and Emily. Tell them to meet us in the conference room. Seb I want you to get the guardians but don't call Ara, bring them to the conference room." I said and they nodded running out of the arena.

I stared at the coordinates on Carl's back.

Where could they possibly lead?

***

" So you're telling me that the magician that helped Carl escape wants you to find him?" Mr T asked.

" Yes. He left us with the coordinates. He wants us to find him."

" What if it's a trap?, What if they used Carl as bait?" Elder Yvonne asked and I sighed.

" And there's that possibility too." Seb Said.

" But I strongly believe he wants us to find him." I stated.

" So what's your plan?"

" Seb and I will go there with half of the guardians. If anything happens, I'll contact the other half and some fighters from the council to come get us."

" Which half are you taking?" Elder Eamon asked.

" I haven't decided yet but Rose is definitely staying."

" Why?!" Rose exclaimed angrily.

" You're my second in command. You have to lead the other half. Plus it will be easier for me to contact you with our telepathy." I reasoned and she sighed.

" So where do the coordinates lead?" Elder Moira asked.

" Southern California." Seb replied.

I scanned the faces of the guardians and then spoke,

" Cole, Irene, Daisy, Lance, Paige, Kirk, Brooke, Erina, Basil, Ava, Donald and Allen. You're with me." I stated.

"Suit up."

A sudden thought hit me and I paused.

" Bryan can you please get Ara?"

" Ara?!, Iris she's just a child!" Rose exclaimed.

" I am not going to let you risk her life." Emily stated and I rolled my eyes.

" Would you guys just listen to what I have to say?!"

Ara walked in and I smiled.

" Hey Ara."

" Hey Iris, Bryan said you wanted to see me."

" Yes, I do. What do you think about unlocking a new spirit ability?"

She nodded frantically and I grinned.

" Sit." I instructed and she did.

" In today's lesson, I will be teaching you how to feel emotions. It's very easy. Easier than charming. But you have to concentrate."

She nodded and I smiled at her eagerness.

" I want you to clear your mind and concentrate on me."

" Should I close my eyes?"

" You don't have to. I don't close my eyes."

" Okay."

" Tell me what you feel."

" I don't feel anything. But I do see a muddle of colours around you. Bright colours. Surrounded by a darker colour."

I raised my eyebrows in surprise and smiled.

" That wasn't what I was hoping to unlock but okay."

" Did I get it right?"

" Ara, you unlocked another ability instead. The ability to see auras."

" Really?"

" Yeah. Okay maybe I'm too complex. Try it on Rose but this time, with your eyes closed."

" Okay." She focused on Rose and this time, she closed her eyes.

" What do you feel?"

" I feel…a hint of anger, slight disappointment and a lot of confusion."

I looked at Rose and saw the surprised look on her face and smiled.

" Try Bryan."

I made her feel some other guardians' emotions before I finally made her feel mine.

" Hope…slight worry, uhm…anxiety and fear?"

Everyone in the room turned to look at me and I cleared my throat.

" Good. What I want you to do is to monitor my anxiety level. If it exceeds what I feel now, you have to contact Rose so she can check on me. And Rose if you can't get through, then you get Shirley and she'll teleport you to our location."

" Oh and Emily, could please ensure that Ara has a steady supply of food?, She's going to be using a lot of energy."

Emily nodded and I sighed.

" Let's go."

***

" Intruders!" Someone yelled the moment our feet touched the ground.

" You have got to be kidding me!" I muttered as we attacked.

" Don't hurt them, just immobilise." I yelled to the guardians.

" Ara said your anxiety level went up, are you guys okay?" Rose asked in my head.

" Yes we're fine."

We were able to immobilise them all and I sighed.

I heard movements from behind a tree and shot an arrow just as a guy came out. The arrow nicked his ear and embedded itself in the tree. He stared at us as blood trickle down from his ear.

" Elysian, you got my message." He breathed out and bowed.

" I'm so sorry about this. They thought you were other magicians." He said in an Australian accent.

" Who are you?"

" I'm Carmen Sydney."

" You're the one who helped Carl escape."

" That is correct Elysian."

I reversed the spell I had cast on our attackers and they sighed in relief.

" Thank you Elysian." They said.

" Follow me Elysian." He took us into what looked like a magician establishment.

" Our leader has been expecting you."

The magicians stared at us as we walked through the village.

" Welcome." Their leader greeted and my jaw dropped.

No way!
