Summer’s S**y Back with Two Babies by Danielle Griffin (Alick Hill ) Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Alick ruined the warm atmosphere. Tired, Summer held the table to stand up and then limped upstairs.

“When did she get injured in the leg? She was fine this morning. How did she get hurt?” Alick wondered.

Alick had been absorbed in his thoughts by the table for a long time.

There were surveillance cameras hidden in those corners of the corridors in the Hill family. Only Alick, the butler, and Summer, who had been Mrs. Hill for years, knew their existence.

Those surveillance cameras were on all day long, but nobody would watch them all the time.

Alick was determined to find out the truth..

Alick went to the study, input the code, and called the surveillance videos of this afternoon up on the computer.

The truth came out soon. In those videos, Sanford tore the document in Joan’s hand apart, so the furious Joan pushed Sanford, leading to his fall. She also cursed him.

To be precise, it was Joan who frightened Sanford.

The fight lasted about three minutes. Then, Summer appeared and ended the fight with a slap on Joan’s face.

Obviously, Alick had put Summer in the wrong.

If not for these videos, Alick couldn’t believe that the kind and soft Joan was so rude and violent.

Alick stared at those surveillance videos. Now, Summer was applying the ointment to Sanford in the videos.

Right then, the phone on the left of Alick rang, and it was a call from Joan.  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Angry, Alick answered the phone but didn’t make a sound.

Joan just finished the shooting which had started this afternoon.

Joan called Alick after her agent said that Alick had gone back to his villa.

“Did he find out the truth?” Joan wondered.

Joan had sweaty palms, and her heart pounded violently.

Alick remained silent, so Joan became more nervous. “Hello? Alick?”

“Speaking,” Alick said in a deep voice. He wished that Joan could take the initiative to talk about what had happened this afternoon.

Joan had no clue whether Alick had found out the truth or not. She took a deep breath and then said softly, “I went to your place this afternoon and ran across Summer.”

There was no response from Alick, so Joan braced herself to complain, “Didn’t Summer die four years ago? Why is she in your villa? Alick, why did you keep this a secret from me? I should visit her earlier.”

In the past years, Joan had been a frequenter of the villa. Therefore, she inferred that Summer had been there for a short time.

Joan waited patiently. However, the response from Alick disappointed her. Joan even wanted to hang up the phone directly.

“Why did you push Sanford?”

“I… He…”

Joan racked her brain and then changed the topic. “Alick, I was mad because Sanford tore that contrast apart.”

“You could tell me, and I would tell Bill to send you another copy. Why did you push Sanford?”

“I didn’t,” Joan lied in a low voice. Something came into her mind, so she said, “It was an accident.

“Alick, Summer must have misunderstood me. I know that she slapped me out of fury. Please say sorry to her for me. If that is not enough, let her slap me again.”

One afternoon had passed, so Joan had reduced the swelling on her face.

“No need.”

This answer pleased Joan. “Indeed, Alick loves me!” Joan thought.

Joan had nothing else to say to Alick but was reluctant to hang up the phone.

Joan said coquettishly that her face still hurt. Then, she complained that her photos taken this afternoon would be awful because of the slap left by Summer. Alick had to soothe Joan softly.

“Alick, we will have our children, and she will be better and cuter than Sanford.”

Complacent, Joan was lost in her imagination. What she didn’t know was that Alick on the other end of the phone became impatient.

“Have an early night.”

Alick interrupted Joan and then hung up the phone directly.

The smile froze on Joan’s face. Then, Joan distorted her face with anger and jealousy.

Today was a bad day for Joan, so she exploded with rage. Joan slammed her phone on the bed and then cursed.

“Bitch!”

Joan thought, ‘I don’t know where Summer came from. However, I am not afraid of her. I will make her go back to where she was. Alick is mine!‘

Joan’s attitude disappointed Alick. Alick felt like he didn’t know Joan at all.

Alick sat in the study for a while. Then, he came out of the study, stopped at the door of Summer’s bedroom for a few seconds, and then went to Sanford’s bedroom.

When the door was pushed open, Sanford thought that the comer would be Summer. When Alick appeared, Sanford turned around with his back against Alick.

Alick closed the door behind him lightly and then sat next to Sanford.

Sanford was reading a comic book on the bed. He felt the intense gaze from Alick and pulled a quilt to cover his head quickly.

Regardless of Sanford’s struggle, Alick pulled the quilt open a little.

“Sanford, I want a word with you, okay?”

“No!” Sanford snapped.

Alick, who was brisk, resolute, and bold in the business circle, became helpless in front of Sanford. He couldn’t

criticize or beat his son.

“I apologize to you for Joan.”

*“She pushed me! I hate her!”

All of a sudden, Sanford pushed the quilt away and then sat opposite Alick with his legs crossed.

Sanford was four years old, and this was his first time expressing his hatred clearly. This shocked Alick.

“Joan didn’t mean to push you.”

“She did! I don’t want her to come here again.”

Sanford pulled a long face as if he wouldn’t speak to Alick again if Alick didn’t agree to his requirement.

“Okay, Sanford, please don’t be mad at me.”

Alick stretched out his hand to touch Sanford, but Sanford dodged this touch nimbly.

Sanford sat far away from Alick and stared at Alick vigilantly.

Alick felt dejected at the thought of the interaction between Summer and Sanford.

The standoff lasted for a moment. Sanford asked suddenly, “Will she leave?”

Alick followed the hand of Sanford and then looked at Summer’s bedroom.

“Do you like her?”
