Chapter 114 You're Jealous
"Don't kid yourself," Luna mused. "Director Grant wouldn't wait for seven days for his leading lady, let alone a supporting actress like you."
Vivian knew she was in no state to face the public. With a reluctant nod, she agreed to Luna's suggestion.
Luna's smile spread across her face as Vivian conceded. "Vivi, don't worry," she reassured. "I'll keep a close eye on Nancy. I won't let her steal what's rightfully yours." With that, Luna picked up her bag and headed for the door. Vivian quickly stopped her, "Luna, where are you going?"
Without looking back, Luna replied, "To find Nancy, of course. What if Charlie comes looking for you?"
Vivian was taken aback. She had been so preoccupied with the filming that she had forgotten about Charlie.
Luna had thoughtfully taken care of this for her.
With that in mind, Vivian decided to stay in Luna's room, not daring to return to her own.
Meanwhile, Nancy and Charlie rode in silence back to the hotel.
Upon entering the elevator, Nancy instinctively pressed the button for her floor.
Charlie made no move to press a button of his own, seemingly uninterested in choosing a floor.
Nancy frowned at him, "What floor are you staying on?"
Charlie, with a playful smirk, didn't answer. Nancy dismissed him with a huff, and they rode up in silence.
When the elevator doors opened, Nancy stepped out with Charlie close behind. Without saying a word, she headed towards her room.
She swiped her card and opened the door. As she walked in, Charlie followed.
Nancy turned to him, unable to contain her curiosity, "Charlie, why are you coming into my room? Shouldn't you be with Vivian at this hour?"
Charlie looked at her intently before surveying the room. Seeing that it was even smaller than his own bathroom, he took a seat on the edge of the bed. "Nan, you're upset," he stated.
"I am not," Nancy retorted, setting her bag on the desk and turning to lean against it.
"Yes, you are,"
Charlie said with a low chuckle. "You were fine at the party because you were playing Vivian's role, so you were nice to me. But the moment we left, your demeanor changed"
He looked at Nancy, his gaze unblinking, "You're cold."
Nancy was taken aback. She hadn't
realized that her subtle mood shift had been so noticeable. She rolled her eyes, deciding to be upfront with her feelings.
"I've been messaging you, and you haven't responded. And then you show up here. I know that Vivian and I are switching roles, and you want to build a relationship with her. get it. So shouldn't you go find her? Stop bothering me!"
Charlie's lips curled into a sly smile, "Nancy, you're jealous."
"Hmph!" She huffed defiantly, "I am not!"
