Stay With Me: A Best Friend’s Brother Small Town Romance (Sugarland Creek Book 2)

Stay With Me (Sugarland Creek Book 2): Chapter 27

Sharing a breeding kink with your girlfriend is all fun and games until the risk of your dick falling off becomes a real concern.

I’ve lost count of how many orgasms Magnolia’s had and the masculine pride in me is beaming like a smug bastard, but every part of my body is on fire. Coming from someone who’s pulled many twelve-hour shifts doing bitch work on the ranch, that was nothing compared to the stamina of a woman who’s making up for lost time. Of course, after bragging about the level of my own, I couldn’t let her one-up me.

After the shower where I thoroughly fucked her against the wall, we took a dinner break, and I suggested we watch Dirty Dancing since we couldn’t before with Sydney’s emergency surgery. But halfway through the movie, her mouth ended up wrapped around my cock, and that led to round three.

Once we were ready for bed, she asked to borrow a T-shirt, and the moment I saw her in it, my dick was hard again.

Round four ended up with me bending her over and taking her deep and hard as she stuck out her perfect, round ass for me.

Admittedly, it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced marathon sex, and now my calves are paying for it.

But it was so fucking worth it.

Holding Magnolia as she slept and being able to touch her is still surreal.

Thank God I have Waylon covering for me this morning. Since there are no new check-ins today, I don’t have to worry about cabin call this afternoon. That means I can go with Magnolia while she works at the farmer’s market. She mentioned some strange guy stopping by yesterday while she was at the retreat and considering I don’t remember checking in a man with his description, I don’t like the idea of some rando stalking my girlfriend.

But before I take her home to get ready, I decide to make her some food since we no doubt worked up an appetite.

I plate the eggs benedict, fill a glass with orange juice, and then bring it to her in bed. She’s still passed out with wild dark hair covering half her face and my marks on her neck.

She looks so damn sexy.

“Sunny,” I say softly, kneeling next to her after I set everything on the nightstand. “Wake up, baby. I have breakfast for you.”

“Mm.” She hums, shifting slightly, but then her eyes pop open. “What’s that smell?”

The panic in her voice has me immediately on alert.

Before I can answer, she sits up, covering her mouth, and then throws off the covers before she rushes past me.

Standing in confusion, I follow as she goes into my bathroom. She hunches over the toilet, emptying her stomach, and I rush over.

“Shit, baby.” I pull her hair off her face and hold it in my fist. She continues violently throwing up, and I rub her back as I stay behind her.

After the last round, she sits back, breathing heavily. I grab a washcloth and drown it in cold water, then pat it over her cheeks, forehead, and neck.

“That was terrible. I think I threw up my whole stomach.

“Think you can handle some water?” I ask, taking her hand and helping her to her feet.

She nods and lets me bring her back to my bed.

“Stay here, and I’ll grab some.” I take the plate of eggs and orange juice, then go to the kitchen. I hate that she’s feeling sick again. She must’ve caught something, which means I’ll probably have it soon, too.

When I return with her water, she’s lying down. “Sunny, sit up and take a drink.”

I help push her up when she struggles and put the cup to her mouth. After a few seconds, I set the glass down and tuck her back in.

“Do I have to call anyone to let them know you won’t be there today?” I ask when she closes her eyes.

“No, I’ll just lose out on the vendor fee. But there’s no way I can serve drinks while vomiting, so it’s better for everyone if I don’t go.”

The sadness in her voice makes me frown. I know she especially relies on her Saturday sales to help pay her bills, but she needs rest more than anything. Mr. Waters is the president of the town committee who manages the farmer’s market and since he owes me a favor from when I helped bring his escaped cattle back to his ranch, I’ll ask him to waive her fee.

“Sleep as much as you need. I’ll be here when you wake up.” I kiss the top of her head and click off the light.

I clean up the kitchen, tidy up the living room, and do a load of laundry. When I check on her two hours later, she’s still snoring softly, so I strip down to my boxer shorts and climb in next to her. She doesn’t even startle when I wrap an arm underneath her and pull her into my side.

My phone vibrating on the nightstand wakes me up. It’s a group text chat with my brothers.

LANDEN

There was a robbery at Phil’s Grocery and a car exploded in the parking lot five minutes later. Downtown is blocked off with a dozen squad cars. Shit’s getting crazy.

Jesus. That’s the third robbery this month.

It’s obvious it’s the same person behind the recent crime spree in town. The first two times were small family businesses on Main Street. Looks like they evolved to bigger places with more cash.

TRIPP

They announce any suspects?

LANDEN

Well until I see Wilder and Waylon in the next five minutes, they’re my first two guesses.

I snort.

WAYLON

Hey! I’ve been covering Tripp’s ass all day. Definitely wasn’t me.

TRIPP

Yeah, appreciate you doing that.

WILDER

I’m not dumb enough to hit a grocery store in broad daylight.

LANDEN

Dumb enough to hit one at night though, huh?

WILDER

Well if I was gonna…yeah. The only thing I’d take is the fancy beer.

WAYLON

What the hell is fancy beer? You bougie fucker.

WILDER

Oh it’s not bougie when you’re stealing it from my fridge?

WILDER

Wait, where the hell is Tripp? What’s Waylon covering you for anyway?

I roll my eyes at his comment and look at the beautiful girl next to me.

TRIPP

None of your damn business.

WAYLON

You didn’t even tell me. Where are you?

TRIPP

You didn’t ask.

WAYLON

Well I’m asking now!

LANDEN

Yeah, Tripp…what are you doing? Or should I be asking…who?

Motherfucker.

TRIPP

Why don’t y’all worry about yourselves seeing as you’re on your phones instead of working?

WAYLON

You’re really one to talk about work ethics.

TRIPP

Oh fuck off. I take one day off.

WILDER

…to rob a grocery store?

TRIPP

Yeah, figured I needed the thrill.

WAYLON

Hold on. Is that Magnolia’s car in your driveway?

Should’ve known that was coming. The nosy bastard.

Noah returns from her honeymoon tomorrow, so it’s not like they weren’t gonna find out soon anyway.

But just to fuck with them, I play dumb.

TRIPP

How do you know what her car looks like?

WAYLON

Because she’s here all the time. You fucker. I’m covering your ass so you can get laid? The hell.

I hold back laughter, envisioning his shocked face.

WILDER

WHAT?! Are you fucking kidding me?

This time I can’t control it. The poor bastard really thought he was going to win her over.

LANDEN

Well that went as well as expected.

WILDER

You knew!

WAYLON

You didn’t tell us?

TRIPP

Later, assholes. Keep me updated if you hear anything about the robberies. I have an alibi.

Then I send a middle-finger emoji and put my phone on do-not-disturb mode.

By the time Magnolia wakes up, it’s well into the afternoon. Once her stomach feels better and she’s ready to try eating, I make her some peanut butter toast to see how she handles it. She manages to get it down, and I notice she’s not as pale as she was before.

“Hopefully it’s just a twenty-four-hour bug or something,” I say, sitting next to her on the couch after I grab her a fresh glass of water.

“I hope so. I’ve not felt this exhausted in ages. But I can’t keep skippin’ work.”

“Want me to go for you?” I muse, grinning. “I can’t make lattes or bake muffins, but I could pour a mean coffee.”

“Do you know how to use the coffee machine?”

“Do I not just press the on button?”

She snorts. “Yeah, after you grind the beans, measure them out, and insert the filter.”

“Hm. Guess I’ll stick to the ranch.” I chuckle, circling my arm around her shoulders. “If you need some cash to make up for your missed days, I—”

“Don’t offer me money because I won’t be able to say no.”

I smile at her blunt honesty. “Then why wouldn’t I offer it?

“Because I started my own business so I didn’t have to depend on anyone else. I just didn’t consider sick days. Which is stupid, I know.”

“No, you’re still a new business and it’s understandable you’d be worried about taking time off. But you can’t control when you get sick, so if you need help, at least take it from me. We’re a team now.”

She rests her head on my shoulder and closes her eyes. “You’re too damn nice to me, Tripp Chattanooga,” she mutters like she’s going to pass out again.

I kiss her hair and hold her closer.

If only she realized I’d do literally anything for her.
