Stay With Me (Sugarland Creek Book 2): Chapter 15
Three days after taking Magnolia on our first official date, I’m still riding the high of tasting her sweet cunt on my tongue and the very public display blow job she gave me.
Making her come in the back of my truck wasn’t only a fantasy but a need. I was desperate for her. I’ve wanted this for so long and finding out she’s always felt the same had this uncontrollable urge to claim her right there in my back seat.
I can still taste her on my tongue, but I want more. Again and again. I’d never get sick of being around or talking to Magnolia. The intimacy is just a very nice bonus.
Tonight’s Noah and Fisher’s wedding rehearsal. Magnolia looks stunning in a skintight, strapless, baby pink dress, but I hate the way Wilder ogles her. He’s never voiced being attracted to her, but Wilder will sleep with any woman with an ass and tits. Even if he did know about us, that wouldn’t stop his lingering gaze.
“Dude, quit staring.” I nudge his elbow with mine when I catch him for the third time focusing on her tits.
He leans over, his eyes never wavering as he whispers, “She’s right across from me. I can’t help it.”
I smack his cheek to knock him out of his trance. “Well, help it. You’re being rude and a creep.”
Finally, he snaps out of it and flashes me a devious smirk. “As if you haven’t been undressin’ her in your mind since we’ve arrived? Gimme a break. I know a sneaky groin adjustment when I see one and you’ve been doing it all night long.”
Goddammit, this asshole.
“It’s these damn pants!” I defend. “You know I don’t wear dress slacks. They’re itchy and keep ridin’ where they don’t belong.”
Not a complete lie, but my dick has been attentive since the moment I laid eyes on Magnolia walking through the church doors like the brunette bombshell she is. I knew within two seconds I was in deep shit.
Tan legs on full display with white leather ankle boots.
Long, dark hair curled in waves and pulled back behind her ears with clips.
Dark red lipstick staining her delicious mouth.
Fuck, I’m such a goner.
It’d be impossible not to notice her.
But still, I’m not giving Wilder a pass when it comes to Magnolia. He’s supposed to think of her as a sister, not a woman available for him to gawk at.
He snorts as his gaze wanders back to his plate still half full of food. The rehearsal went as one would expect with four unruly brothers not wanting to accept their little sister is getting married before any of us. But besides the taunting and cackling at Noah’s expense, it went great.
As I eat a piece of Gramma Grace’s famous peach cobbler—Noah’s favorite—Dad stands and demands our attention. He gives a fatherly speech about how blessed we are to have everyone here to celebrate his little girl finding love. The room is filled with family and friends, too many to fit in the main house, so they hosted the dinner at The Lodge in one of the private conference rooms.
Gramma Grace and Mallory went to town on the decorations since the gift opening brunch will be here Sunday morning. But if Noah thinks any of her hungover brothers are going to make that, she’s more delusional than Wilder, who’s currently winking at Magnolia and thinking she’ll reciprocate.
“Dad, that was so sweet!” Noah has tears in her eyes as she stands and hugs him. He kisses the top of her head and looks so proud. It’s funny to think how if he hadn’t hired Fisher to be our farrier, the two would’ve never met.
“My turn!” Mom speaks next, making most of us laugh at how Gramma Grace told her the two were sneaking around and how she secretly hoped they were because of Fisher’s charmingly good looks.
And then Mallory decides she needs to add to the torture and recites all her favorite Taylor Swift songs that she swears are Noah and Fisher coded.
After fifteen minutes of reading off lyrics, Mom finally motions for her to wrap it up.
“That was perfect, Mal. Thank you.” Noah wraps her arms around Mallory, and she grins wide.
Mom says the final goodbye, and we gather for a group photo before everyone breaks away.
I try not to watch Magnolia’s every move, but it’s so damn hard when she’s so close, and I can’t touch her. Her head falls back with laughter at something Landen says, and I hate that he gets that reaction out of her. But I’ve vowed not to get jealous of their friendship anymore, which means I need to stop worrying. If she wanted him, she had her chance to date him when he liked her.
“Say good night to your fiancée. I’m stealin’ her for the night so you don’t see her before the weddin’,” Magnolia teases Fisher.
Fisher frowns at Noah, who giggles at his reaction.
“You’ll have fun father-son time with Jase tonight. It’s just for one night, babe. Then we’ll have two weeks of uninterrupted newlywed time.”
The suggestive way she says those words has me cringing. I don’t want to think of my sister like that.
“Gross.” Landen peaces out before he can hear Fisher’s response. “See y’all tomorrow!”
I say my quick goodbyes and leave before I’m tempted to steal Magnolia for myself. Tomorrow’s going to be nonstop busy, and although I’m looking forward to it, I want to spend time with her without sharing her with everyone else.
“Hey, cowboy!” I hear her shout across the parking lot as I walk to my truck.
When I spin around, she leaps into my arms, and I quickly catch her. Her bare legs wrap around my waist, and I turn until she’s pressed against the driver’s side door.
“What’re you doin’, troublemaker?” I smirk, inching closer to kiss her. Luckily, it’s already pitch-black out, but the parking lot lights beam enough that if you walked by us, you’d be getting a free show.
“Ooh, is that a new nickname?” she teases and then grabs my lower lip with her teeth.
Cupping her face, I brush my mouth against her ear. “Depends how often you plan to be one.”
“In that case, all the damn time.”
I pull back just enough to capture her lips in a searing hot kiss. She digs her nails into my neck and my erection pokes against her thigh. Heat forms between us as she rocks into me, and I palm her breast when she moans.
“You’re evil.” I growl, trying to adjust myself. “I’m gonna haveta take care of this by myself now.”
“If I had more time, I’d help ya out, but bridesmaid duty calls.”
The little smirk on her face as I lower her feet to the ground tells me she did this on purpose.
“What’re you and my sister doin’ tonight anyway?”
“Facials while we watch Taylor Swift’s new tour movie with Mallory and Serena. So they’ll be dancin’ and off-key singin’, of course. Then we’ll eat snacks until the sugar crash hits and pass out.”
I grab her hand and kiss her knuckles. “Well, if you get a break between the dancin’ and sweets, text me. I’ll be up for a while since I have to start tomorrow’s chores tonight.”
“I’ll do my best. Those girls are nosy as shit anytime I’m on my phone, so I’ll have to sneak around.”
Serena’s eleven now and Mallory’s best friend. She moved here two years ago when Ayden, the boarding operations manager, found out he had a daughter he knew nothing about. His former high school sweetheart spent years looking for him, and after they reunited, she moved here, and they got married last fall.
I press my lips to hers once more. “Have fun. Save a dance for me.” I wink, then release her when Fisher and Noah walk out of The Lodge.
“You know I will, cowboy.”
“By the way, you look gorgeous tonight. Nearly had to pluck Wilder’s eyes out for staring at you so hard.”
“Well, it’s nice to know if one Hollis brother doesn’t work out, I have options.”
My smile drops, and I scowl. “Cute.”
She pats my chest with a cheeky grin. “I know.”
After she meets up with Noah and drags her to her car, I hop in my truck and drive home so I can change out of my dress slacks and into jeans and a sweatshirt. Then I go to the family barn to check on the horses. Ayden and Ruby will take care of the boarders tonight, so it shouldn’t take me too long.
“Hey, Franklin buddy.” I pet his nose and he grunts at me. He’s not used to seeing me at night since I muck their stalls first thing in the morning. “Gonna lemme come in for a few minutes? I’ll even put your favorite songs on.”
I reach into my pocket to grab my phone and notice a text from Magnolia.
MAGNOLIA
Imagining you wearing your cowboy hat tomorrow already has my panties soaked.
TRIPP
Hm…let me see.
But then I furrow my brows.
TRIPP
Wait, who said I’m wearing a hat tomorrow?
MAGNOLIA
Noah. She said she wants y’all to wear them for groom pictures because it’d pay tribute to Fisher’s bull riding days or some shit like that. But either way, I wholeheartedly agreed so all the guys are supposed to bring their black Stetsons.
Then I notice our sibling group text thread is going off where Noah’s telling us the same exact thing.
TRIPP
Why do I have a feeling you highly encouraged this change?
MAGNOLIA
I may or may not have mentioned it was a fantasy of mine to get railed by a hot guy wearing one and how she was lucky she had Fisher to fulfill that for her. Then one thing led to another and now y’all are wearing them.
TRIPP
I’m gonna need you to repeat that for me, sweetheart.
MAGNOLIA
I didn’t mention the hot guy being you but it’s not like she’s not aware of my crush to put two and two together 😉
My dick gets hard at the very non-subtle way she mentions having sex.
Franklin whines and abruptly jerks up his head, nearly knocking the phone out of my palm.
“Easy, boy.” I give him another pet. “You finally get to date the woman of your dreams and you’d be distracted, too.”
TRIPP
I’ll have you know that Franklin and I are having a very awkward conversation as I try to clean his stall with an erection.
MAGNOLIA
You poor baby. Wish I could help with that but you’re just gonna have to take a long shower tonight.
TRIPP
Oh don’t worry…already planned on it.
MAGNOLIA
And if you want to make another video for me, I wouldn’t be mad about it.
TRIPP
Is that so? What will I get in return for said video?
MAGNOLIA
Depends what you want, cowboy.
Her. All the goddamn time.
TRIPP
Tell me a secret no one else knows.
The jumping dots appear, and then after a few seconds, they’re gone. Maybe I ruined the moment by asking a serious question. Or she had to put her phone away before one of the girls saw. Either way, I’m anxiously waiting as I keep my phone propped up while I muck Franklin’s stall.
MAGNOLIA
I’m not as strong as I try to portray. Rather, I feel like I have to be so I’m never dependent on anyone else.
My heart shreds at the words on the screen. I know exactly how that feels and hate that she does, too. I know how she grew up. Noah’s told me things over the years, but Magnolia’s never talked about it. Anytime her parents were brought up, she’d smile wide and say everything at home was great. I had a feeling it wasn’t and that she didn’t want anyone to know the truth, so I never pushed her for more.
TRIPP
You are strong, baby. Even when you’re not trying to be, I see it in you. I’m always here if you want to talk about it. I know a thing or two about not wanting to look weak but you never have to worry about that with me.
MAGNOLIA
Be careful, Tripp Hollis. I just may fall hard and fast if you insist on melting my heart with words like that.
I can’t help the stupid grin that fills my face.
TRIPP
I’d love nothing more.
